  1. The Morning Consult poll is a better one because they polled more people and they focused on the early primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada.
  2. All those folks declaring Biden over because of that Monmouth poll might want to start sweeping up all that confetti they threw.
  3. We're going to have a lot of these ups and downs. Remember how Harris spiked after the first debate? Also that poll has a sample size of less than 300 people. I won't get nervous until we see a string of polls with larger sample sizes.
  4. The 25th Amendment is not an option because most of the cabinet is there in an "acting" capacity and therefore never went through confirmation. They don't have the power to do anything.
  5. I wanted him to get life in prison and he did.
  6. I get where you're coming from and I don't entirely disagree BUT farmers would be in a much better position right now with the TPP. Right now they've been reduced to begging for government handouts. Once Trump is out of office, those markets will still be closed to them. A lot of these farmers have lost business for a generation. And thanks to climate change, we don't have many generations left.
  7. Obama tried to deal with China with the TPP. Our farmers would've been able to sell to Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam. But now we're on our own and China is slowly cutting us out of those markets.
  8. I gotta say this was nice to see.
  9. This was a bad weekend for Kentucky senators.
  10. I've clearly missed something. What happened with the DCCC and CBC?
  11. Just a few days of talking about the Republicans unwillingness to address election security seems to be getting to McConnell. I wish the energy and vitriol being directed at Nancy Pelosi and demanding "Impeachment NOW!" was being directed at McConnell and Republicans.
  12. Sorry. I don't mean to be a downer. I'm just not feeling very good about what I'm seeing play out on the left right now. I feel like no lessons have been learned. Epstein gets arrested so Trump tweets about "the squad." Suddenly the conversation pivots. We get a bipartisan report saying Russia is attacking us so he tweets about Cummings and conversation gets hijacked again. He uses this to pull attention away from subjects that are less favorable to him and that non-MAGA voters would have real issues with. I see a left that still doesn't realize how its own self-righteousness is being weaponized and it scares me. Throw in a facile arrogant press that feels like its job is to offer color commentary instead of facts and I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that Trump dies right before the election.
  13. I'm calling Bradley Effect. Trump's election showed me that too many people who I thought of as decent were fine with this. They're going to say one thing but when it comes time to vote they will vote for the guy who tells them that they should be a front of the line.
  14. Disagree. He won on racism the first time and he's simply doubling down on a winning strategy.
  15. This administration has two overarching goals: profit and genocide. IMO, any policy announced should be looked at through the filter of how it can be used to make rich people richer or how it can be used against vulnerable people.
  16. It should because it inches us closer to the Final Solution. We are a country with children in concentration camps and ICE picking up legal citizens just because of their race. Anything that gives the Federal government more leeway to abuse or kill "criminals" will soon become a way of dealing with "undesirables." Also, Alabama passed a law where a woman could get the death penalty for abortion so I'm sure there are already people gleefully dreaming of making that Federal law.
  17. Yes, it does. Research tells me that Gen-X was born between the mid 60's to the early 80s.
  18. The irony is that the only people who have what it takes to fight back against that are Gen-Xers and nobody gives a damn what we think.
  19. The Clinton Body Count stuff is actually something that makes me laugh because I tripped across a really fun way of dealing with it during the 2016 race. Them: Hitlery Clinton has been having people murdered for decades! Me: I know. That's why I'm voting for her! I have a whole list of people I hope she kills. I'm just trying to figure out how much I have to donate to get her to finally kill Bernie Sanders. Faster Hillary! KIll, kill! Seriously, I wish Hillary was the death dealing murderess people claim she is. This country and this world would be a much better place right now.
  20. Today just made me feel like - apologies if this sounds hyperbolic - we are surrounded by enemies. We got the deplorables on one side, the Berners/purity progs/socialists on another, tech/social media companies who profit from this chaos on another, and , a press that rarely fulfills its Constitutionally protected duty either because they have abdicated the responsibility and/or been so weakened by the current business model that they are unable to.
  21. There's this obsession on the left with relitigating the past through a puritan lens. (Think Hillary and "superpredator.") We saw it again with Ralph Northam and the blackface photo. We're seeing it again with Joe Biden and the crime bill along with busing. Biden brought that on himself by bringing up his willingness to work with segregationists but Harris used that during the debates and then I got to watch the superiority olympians talk about busing for two damn weeks. I'm someone who actually experienced busing and I couldn't think of a subject that is less relevant right now. This whole primary has me scared because nobody seems to be able to focus.
  22. This. It amazes me how many people continue to treat this man like anything but the senile sack of garbage he is.
  23. The AP Stylebook finally gave journalists permission to use the word "racist." That's what's changed.
  24. My friend's mom is a Swedish immigrant who has been in this country for more than 50 years. More than once she's been harassed by people who have heard her accent and told her to "go back where [she] came from." This is a white woman from SWEDEN who spent her life here working as a nurse. She's exactly the kind of immigrant the MAGAts claim to want. She just recently did exactly what they told her to do: she moved back to Sweden along with her husband, my friend's father. Nobody is safe from these people.
