  1. She doesn't. Richard informa Jane she's dead despite casually passing by the alcove she died in. Off screen deaths. Never dignifying.
  2. Sorry, but no penis no sale for me.
  3. Technically, Morgan Brittany only filmed to appear in The Big Bang Theory aka the two hour finale of season 3. Since the explosion was post-poned to the season 4 premiere, but she technically didn't film anything for that. You can tell that post-explosion there's no shot of her when the others get up with fabulous new hair-do's. ETA: I've said it before, but I suspect that the episode was first set to end with Amanda mouthing "oh my God", then the explosion of her apartment pushing her down the stairs. Post that you can clearly see Sydney has a new hair-do:
  4. I guess if we view these soaps as viewers only being given a slice of daily lives of a dozen or so people that live in a town of thousands it makes sense that sometimes people will just "disappear" off screen without much fuzz and we as viewers are kind of expected to think they're just living their lives. Of course, with people like Marie and Doug / Julie being so interconnected with the main families that makes it problematic that they wouldn't be mentioned.
  5. I could kind of see Tylo in the role in those early episodes when Taylor was meant to be "mysterious", but I think Rinna's energy quickly took over everything on screen and then it translated into the scripts (as it should tbh). But I think it was originally meant to be more of a "quiet" desperation about her, especially when she did everything to try and keep Peter. Season 5 of Melrose Place was meant to be toned down (and you can kind of tell by the storylines being - as someone eloquently put it "daytime slow at a breakneck speed"), but Rinna certainly didn't get the memo. Another in example I thought about is Taylor and Kyle's relationship - I think it was meant to come across as she was kind of the neglected wife, which is why she went off to look for Peter in the first place. But then Lisa's energy entirely took over and she comes across as a bit of a flying harpy and yeah, of course Kyle would cheat.
  6. ABC's Not Dead Yet comes across as very much something they ordered because of the success CBS had with Ghosts. Apparently it went through three re-toolings in season one alone.
  7. To play devil's advocate - Tylo announced that she was pregnant in March and gave birth in November; the show would've started filming in mid-July, so she should've been like five months pregnant when the show started. I can see how they would've had big issues with working it in, but also it would've been hard to hide at that point. It goes without saying that they could've handled it better than they did, but I can see why they thought it was a headache for the arc they had planned for Taylor.
  8. I had to look it up - Hunter Tylo was fired mid-May: May 14th 1996: This appeared May 29th 1996: Lisa and Rob were announced as cast in mid-July, presumably shortly before production was meant to start:
  9. That's absolutely Lisa Rinna. I assume since this was a 6 episode order to air in the late spring, Lisa was either able to get out of her contract, or replaced or Spelling actually bought her out. It's worth to remember that she was a very late addition because of the Hunter Tylo mess and you can tell this pilot was filmed a few months earlier due to her short hair. Since Hilary Swank also starred in this and then re-appeared on Beverly Hills the next season makes me think they might've shared a casting agent with Spelling productions.
  10. Revenge got a lot of buzz in the 2011-12 season. Next season NBC premiered the show Deception, about a woman working to infiltrate her best friends rich family after she dies of a suspicious overdose to get to the bottom of what happened and get... revenge. Recently, we saw a lot of This Is Us-inspired shows - A Million Little Things being the obvious one, but then also Council of Dads and The Village to cash in on that 30-something drama trend. Oh, and of course ABC ordered a reboot of said thirtysomething that never made it to the air.
  11. I mean, I'm 99.9% sure that it's DAYS since they're obviously putting Doug's send-off together at the moment. With that said - I'd like those two episodes to turn into more, but who knows how much she acts these days or that she'd even be interested in doing DAYS with the type of filming schedule they use.
  12. I'm happy that they're absolutely going all out with Doug's memorial, as they should. The dream would be that they would also get Denise Alexander, but she hasn't acted since 2021, so who knows if she's up for it.
  13. Reading the synopsis it comes off as a very Knots, or rather No Down Payment with a couple moving into a neighbourhood and then the tensions go from there. I wonder if there was any chance of this going to series if it had been successful? If it had been done in the 90s you know the oldest one in the cast would've been like 35 lol.
  14. The Talk is doing badly and despite trying to revamp it with Jerry O'Connell and new producers, it's failed to raise the ratings. Even if The Gates doesn't make it to the air, that shows time on air is probably limited.
  15. Hopefully Steve Olsen's return and maybe even Sandy's hinted return will open the door to more Horton's in the future, though I'm not holding my breath.
  16. Yeah, I don't see the winning a lottery thing happening for various reasons. I'm sure there'll be an "outsider" character/family either way that'll provide an insight into this world and the tension of trying to fit in. But as I said, if they choose something specific for their company then it needs to be something that can be worked into storylines. That's kind of the issue with the Generations family owning a popular brand of ice cream; sure it's without a doubt profitable industry but impossible to work into a storyline. (Though I'm having a sudden craving for ice cream right now)
  17. Either way - the point is, if the specific business plays no part in storylines, then they might as well just have a wide and diffuse business portfolio. Oil played a large part in Dallas's storylines, wine was integral to Falcon Crest, fashion industry used to play a big part on The Bold & The Beautiful (I haven't watched it for years so no idea about current day). If they're going to pick a business, then it better be something they can work into the storylines. Otherwise it'll just be what DAYS currently does with "DiMera Enterprises" which just seems to exist for the purpose of changing CEOs every three months.
  18. I mean, if you don't have an ice cream catfight, or at least a death-by-ice cream, was it ever really about the frozen dessert business?
  19. I asked @JAS0N47 about that and apparently it only aired on select stations, so it wasn't nationwide. I assume it's the same deal as with those telenovela-ish shows they had in the mid-90s like Acapulco Bay - it was sold to Fox stations, but no fixed or recommended timeslot deal. I know they had a kids block, so that's why I wondered if they attempted any blocks (even rerun ones to prepare for eventual daytime programming) outside of it. I know Aaron Spelling shows like Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place and Models Inc got second runs on E! rather than Fox stations in the 90s.
  20. Thank you! Did Fox ever do proper daytime programming or did they leave it all up to the affiliates to handle? 🤔
  21. I thought there was a thread, but apparently not (or at least I can't find it). Either way, a partial episode of this has surfaced online:
  22. I mean, my main hope is that they'll at least spend a fair budget on building elaborate sets for the main locations, but even that's holding out too much hope. Of course I'd love some sort of outside set, but yeah. Ain't gonna happen.
  23. If I'm reading that chart right a 22.2 rating for Peyton Place translated into an audience of 11 940 000 viewers. It means that in the mid-60s a ratings point was somewhere around 500-600k. It makes me even more interesting to see how the actual audience numbers translates from ratings since it often gives the impression that viewers were dropping off these shows rather than them being unable to grow.
  24. Looking a bit more into it on IMDB, these shows aired as following: Acapulco Bay (1995 ????) (60 episodes) The Guilt (1996 ???) (80 episodes) Forever (Mon 10 June 1996 - Fri 11 October 1996) (89 episodes) I'm guessing Forever was the last one to air? It sort of reminds me of the failed MyNetworkTv experiment, but as always there was no patience to give the telenovela format a solid time slot.
  25. Interesting! I had never heard of these - I of course knew about Tribes and the late night attempt Bourbon Street that never made it to air. I think the main issue is that soaps take time to take hold and I'm guessing Fox didn't have enough power to force their affiliates to air these shows in a set time, especially once they got drab ratings. There's an episode of The Guilt on YouTube: And a trailer for Forever (La Madastra) - a bit hard to see if there's more due to other tv shows being called Forever:
