  1. That sucks. From watching clips of that era, I didn't get it either. I know he did heinous things to her but there was no need for her to run around and cower to him. If anything, she should've burst into laughter when Reginald made threats. He came off as mustache twirling IMO. I'm one of the few who does not like everyone getting a happy ending at the end of the show. In my mind, the show still carries on much like life and everyone does not get a happy ending at that point. Maybe that is just the pessimist in me.
  2. Thanks about the Edwina info! And I didn't know that they were planning on recasting Frannie. They should've. Frannie, Sabrina, or both should've always remained on the canvas. Besides Kim, the show always needed a younger to middle aged female Hughes lead heroine to root for. I know Margo could count but she didn't for me.
  3. Finally got a chance to watch the video I posted in this thread earlier. Here are my thoughts and questions: Is Edwina Walsh the same women that played Amanda's mother, Lucille Wexler, on Guiding Light? She wasn't nutty on here, was she? I love Ellen and Kim. Both of them have no issues [or chill] with chewing out their kids when they eff up. Nowadays, they'd be encouraging or making excuses for their actions. So good to see that Ellen ain't having it. Larry seems like such a good guy. My only recollection of him is that he was a dead beat and later made an egg thief thanks to the incompetent writing of Jean Passanatate. I never expected to see Susan be vulnerable and insecure. I get it because Frannie is younger but does she not see that Larry truly loves her? Margo's HIV scare is good too. I love how Doug Marland made Margo go through every stage of grief and how Tom was affected by it too. Love that he also stood by her instead of having him easily stray [like they'd do nowadays]. I was moved when Margo rambled on about safe sex and not being able to be passionate with Tom. Rex had some gall bringing up Babs around Kim and Frannie from the previous night. I am surprised that Frannie didn't clunk him in the head with the phone and Kim with her briefcase. Kim's expressions are EVERYTHING. I laughed when she simply grabbed her briefcase and coldly walked into the house not giving Rex the time of day. I do wish that Frannie and Rex were brought back in later years. Rex seemed like an interesting character despite people hating his wife's murder mystery being dragged out. Did he and Lucinda ever have business dealings? If so, I think he would've been a perfect foil for Lucinda in later years in the business forefront. Did they even bring up Rex or Carrie when Jennifer died? I'm drawing blank. Poor Frannie.... She was such a wreck of a character. Turmoil was always around the corner for her, which is why I don't get why ATWT in later years felt like the Hughes were boring. During Marland's era, they always stayed in the center of drama. All the Hughes needed was a young Hughes heroine [preferably the daughter of Frannie or Sabrina or even Hope] to drive story alongside her cousins Casey & Adam.

  5. Violetta and Sylvia know what they are doing. They're playing up to the camera so they can start their careers as future challengers. Those two along with Jason and Nicole. The four of them are extra and play up to the cameras all the damn time. IMO, they should've made Sylvia and Violetta either go home or seek anger management like they Stephen in Seattle and Brynn in Las Vegas. Their actions should not go unpunished. With the exception of Madison, Tony, Bruno, and Tony's ex, Alyssa, I hate this cast. They are possibly the worst surpassing the DC cast, and that cast was dreadfully boring. But at least they were authentic. Jon Murray has destroyed this show and made it into a Jersey Shore knockoff. Sad because most people involved with Jersey Shore have moved on and so has the audience. Real World has always been the socially conscious show so why stray? Why break away from the model, which worked successfully for 28 seasons? As I stated before, if the show wanted change, they should've simply went from 7-8 strangers to 14 strangers (7 guys and gals) from all over the world with different beliefs and backgrounds. With that large cast, which they've been having for the past two seasons, they would've had enough big personalities to have drama.
  6. Did Rick in later years ever bring up his grandfather or any of his Jackson roots? Was it mentioned that Dr. Jackson had passed onscreen? Speaking of Alan and Hope's affair, I still hate that Gus was not Rita's son. It would've stuck to the canon and would've opened up so many possibilities. Rita returning at that time would've given Ed, Alan, and even Holly so much to do.
  7. Katie was getting her ass whooped? I thought that Andy just beat Trish. I didn't know he was whooping up on Katie too. I might need to reread her backstory.
  8. Here are parts 2 & 3, Carl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmKDjxWmNBU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78XKC9MK3PM Maybe I am overprotective of Nola but I can't stand Hilary and Katie. Or Kelly and that drip, Morgan. So glad that Nola went on to become Mrs. Chamberlain while the rest of them went on to do nothing. Kelly left town alone after Claire broke his heart. Morgan left without Kelly after being deemed a harlot. Katie faded into irrelevancy. Hilary was blown to smithereens. Floyd went to prison. *sighs* Nola is WINNING.
