As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Do you think that GL would've needed to go the UK route where they needed a permanent outdoor set along with a studio? That's what I thought was gonna happen with Peapack but I was sadly mistaken. To do that too, I think that GL would've needed to be out of P&G's hands and for CBS to invest in the show all the way, which I doubt would've happened. Even though I was glad ATWT was put out its misery (b/c of JP, CG, and P&G), it still had life to it. And EON would be a big hit nowadays as procedurals and murder mystery shows are HOT. I'd add Another World to that list, @Khan. I think the show just needed a few things retooled and it would've been fine. *gasps* I loved the Jelinda's theme opening ('93). I loved the toilet flush opening too. They just needed to switch the sound of the world rotating for something more pleasant. I hated the 02-06 opening though. That theme was garbage. I did love the cornfield opening though. I was just pissed there was only one variation and we didn't get one with Lisa in it!

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I love Ross but he shouldn't be surprised that Finn won't choose him as of late. Especially, when his record is tarnished thanks to Ross. I think their relationship will be repaired but it'll take time. With Emma, it'll get worse. I do think it'd be somewhat funny and karmic if she did wound up sick with the illness she's faking to have. That would be a nice twist to the story.

Yeah. GL was practically decimated to nothingness in the end. I don't think it would've been easy to fix as ATWT or AW both could've easily been. I think with ATWT all the show had to do was refocus the show on the Hughes and resort back to its community centered, glacial paced, complex stories. The cast didn't even need real retooling. The character that were needed were already there. Just drop a few of the deadweight and bring a few legacy characters back for the younger generation and we would've had a show. I would've brought back John to put Lisa and Lucinda back at odds again. For the middle aged crowd, I would've brought back Scott (Lisa's son) and Seth. I would've created a young female ingenue, preferably a daughter of Frannie or Sabrina, to be the new Hughes heroine of the show. Also, I would've brought back MJ, Dani, Ryder, Aaron, Hope, Jeremy, 1-2 of the Stewart quads, and Jessica/Ben's adopted kids, Sarah and Curtis to add diversity.

I guess that ending with Andy was supposed to be a red herring and make us assume that Andy was possibly Kat's son? However, with photos out about Kat's son potentially being cast on the spinoff can already eliminate that. I'm thinking that maybe Andy has ties to Carl or Charlie and is the actual stalker of Ronnie. Ian is officially dead to me. I thought him using Lucy's death and the memory of his grandmother, Lou, to get these people to get off his back was utterly gross. I was cheering when Denise called him out on using Lucy. Of course, "good ole' Mick" was there to tell everyone to listen to Ian. I wish that Tina or Buster would've just had a line where they called him out on not being loyal and toeing the line, but scolding others when they don't do it with him. Does he not realize his family suffers in this too? Only good thing about all of this is that Kathy and Buster kissed. I just hope they don't engage in an affair and Buster just drops Shirley before pursuing Kathy. Martin is an idiot. Who doesn't realize that products have serial numbers nowadays that can be tracked? They might as well return all those toilets to Jack's flat and be done. However, I am sure Stacey will come up with a stupid scheme, which will land Martin in deeper trouble. Roxy ... As I said the other day, get rid of this character with her crackhead ass. Also, IDK why Glenda didn't take the money and still return to Ronnie's? What is Roxy gonna do? What a stupid way for her to put herself back in a bad spot with Ronnie.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Oh Emma! I can't believe (well yes I can) that she is faking an illness to keep Pete and Finn in Emmerdale. I wonder how long she'll be able to keep up this lie. As I said in a previous thread, I like Cain but I hate how he resorted back to his brutish ways tonight. It wasn't that serious for him to pop Pete in the face. If anything, he should've popped Holly's lame ass for scheming to get Pete over there. Glad Belle took the morning after pill to prevent pregnancy b/c we don't need anymore babies for the foreseeable future. Chrissie telling Andy she loved him was so awkward and unconvincing. Being the sap that he is, Andy of course bought it. I did find it hypocritical that Andy tried keeping Chrissie from finding her biological dad when Andy was adopted too. Good or bad, Andy should encourage her journey to find the truth. I also found it odd that he'd side with Lawrence given that he had Andy battered and bruised a few weeks ago. I am all about forgiveness but not that damn fast.

Degrassi: The Next Generation
A bunch of Degrassi alumni will be popping up on the upcoming season: http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/06/degrassi-next-class-reunion-photos I noticed in the pics too that a huge social issue spoiled in the pics too. I think the upcoming season is gonna be nice and juicy!

Now he's made Tina into a liar and a cheater too. I just don't trust him with heavy issues b/c he falls flat. Always.

(re: grooming comment) Not surprised. Typical DTC not to realize that and not do that. Especially, when he's a gay man himself. At this point, I don't have any hope of him doing anything correctly.

Oh OK. It makes sense then. What did you think of tonight's episode? I knew that Jay would not last long in that job. I just knew he'd fired over something--that something being Les' crusty ass liking to cross dress. I hope he does decide to reveal it all, thus preventing Babe's hobbit ass profiting off him any longer. She seriously needs to go. Martin, Andy, and Kyle are stealing toilets? WTF?! How would they make money off of that? If the stall ain't helping Martin make enough, maybe he needs to go pick up a trade that does. I guess these people are supposed to be kitchen-sink realness but I grow tired of their financial woes when there are opportunities all over London. He should be all for the market coming into the Square. At least he'd get a set salary if hired. Stacy needs to find a job too. Plus, I am over Andy thirsting for Stacy. Again, can they give her something other to do rather than being lusted after by a plethora of men? This is why I never cared for Stacy. She was always too flat of character for my taste.

Meh. EE has had better promos. I don't understand the significance of Jane, Bobby, Stacy, or Martin in her promo. I would've preferred Sharon being slapped in there along with Ben, Jay, Louise, Billy, Ronnie, etc. Does anyone knows whether the rumblings that Mark's paternity is revealed are true?

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I utterly don't care about Chrissie/Lawrence and this paternity story. And for Lawrence to spew that Lachlan can't learn the truth b/c he's not strong enough... He was strong enough when his perverted ass violated Alicia. I hate this family with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns.

This reunion further woke people up with Andy and his biases towards certain housewives. These are the follow housewives he hardly ever calls (or called) them out on their sh-t and handles them with kid gloves: ATL: Phaedra, Porsha (to some extent), Sheree (her first 4 seasons) NY: Bethenny, Carole, Luann (until about last season) NJ: Melissa, Caroline, Jacqueline BH: Kyle, Brandi, Kim, YoLyme MIA: Lea, Adrianna, Marysol DC: Cat OC: Tamra, Heather I can already see too that Brandi of Dallas and Karen (though I like her), Katie, and Ashley of Potomac will fall into those categories too. Andy can't be objective b/c he's too involved at this point. He needs to step down.

I thought they should've paired him with Carly. She seems like the upfront person he needs in his life.

Well you know the only character allowed to do that is Debbie.

Ugh. I know right. Sad part is that you can have love triangles and romances in the stories I listed but it'll provide more than just the romance portion of teen stories, which are overkill.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
OK. That makes sense if it is about Babe. I was reading it as he was judging Jay for his actions. I don't mind teen pregnancy stories when they aren't done to the max. Every so many years? Yeah, OK. It's a story that needs to be told as it is an epidemic for teens; however, it grows old when it occurs with every set of teens that are on soaps. Even though it isn't happening yet, I know it is stewing in the back of these writers' minds b/c it is an easy, shock plot and something to give younger characters. That's why Libby/Tamwar/Darren were the last set of teens I enjoyed on this show. None of them had babies as teens. Libby and Tamwar were too concerned about their exams and being the best with Zainab and Denise getting involved. We saw Darren and Tam do stuff that normal teen boys did outside of sex. Seriously, I can feel it in my bones that a teen pregnancy story is gonna occur. Maybe not this year but it'll come. Why not? If it is Louise, it'll be so that they can have Phil run amok and threaten people again. If it is Rebecca, it'll be a so-called nod to Martin/Sonia's history. I'd rather see an array of teen stories like we see on Degrassi. I'd wanna see them involved in school plays, going out for extracurricular activities and competing against each other, one of them stressing over exams, one of them at crossroad as to what to do post college--stuff like that.

(re: Martin) I wouldn't put it past this show to have Martin arrested. He's one of the many characters that never catch a break. I thought it was demeaning a hell for Stacey to embarrass him in a room full of women like that. This is why I don't want Martin with Stacey. And when did they make Martin into a dolt? I never remember the original Martin being this stupid. Jesus. Does the actor that plays Shakil have a lisp? It's gonna take time for me to get use to his accent. He sounds like he has a bag of marbles in his mouth. I (too) can't stand that stupid ass bun on his head. That mess ain't cute. Also, I don't care about the obvious triangle with him, Louise, and Rebecca that is about to take place. I'm pretty sure one of them will end up being a teen mom as that's the ONLY story they know how to offer teen characters nowadays. Who the f-ck is Les to judge Jay? Ain't this the same perv that dons women's clothes, etc? Can he go away? Pam can stay. Roxie ... why is this bitch back? If she ain't screwing someone's man, she's getting her ass whooped. It's old. I'm over the woes of Roxie Mitchell. Kill this wench and move on. She's tiring at this point. Jack too. I wanted Joel or Ronnie to bash him in the face when he interjected in the Hannah situation. This is why I never liked Jack in recent years. He stays throwing his weight around and never minds his business. It's old. Find another gimmick. The market story is OK--I don't mind it; however, I'd be all for a huge market/store being on the Square and providing jobs for many of the citizens. I think it'd be more interesting than them hanging around them raggedy ass stalls, but I keep having to remind myself that markets still play a big role in British culture. Otherwise, I'd totally be all for the stalls going.

Her slapping LVP that one instance doesn't not equate to someone experiencing domestic violence. I hope that trollop has everlasting bad luck.

I'm for retooling when it's done right, and I am for moving to a new city if need be. Retooling done correctly would be Miami s2 when they brought on Ana, Karent, Joanna, and Lisa. That's the perfect example IMO and that season still remains to be one of the best IMO. When it comes to establishing a new city, I am all for it, however, after Dallas (because Potomac is a success), I don't know if I want a new city. I'd rather them revive DC or Miami (preferably Miami) if they need another housewife show.
