Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
POTOMAC Episode 2 was just as good as Episode 1 and I can already sense the tension starting to climb. This is also the first time I have ever remotely liked Gizelle. The scene at lunch with Juan was the first time I have seen Gizelle be happy for someone other than herself. The rumours about Monique and Chris are, as she said, very ugly, and I see why she didn't want to give it any air on the show.

Big Brother 22: All Stars
I'm tuning in for it - who doesn't want new content and BB is a comfort since they're going to be able to run the show basically the same as they could pre-Covid.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Jersey is an island between Britain and France that, although a part of the British Isles, is a British Crown dependency for defence, but has it’s own distinct laws etc. It is known as something of a tax haven and doesn’t charge value added taxes on luxury goods. I think it’s a great choice for a spinoff. Look forward to it!

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHOBH That was a good episode solely because you got to see Denise's wheel start to spin as she realizes she's surrounded by women who hate her and want to take her down (aside from glorious Garcelle). I instantly knew she was lawyering up against Brandi when Rinna mentioned talking to her. Denise chuckled that midwestern chuckle of hers and got to work once the cameras were down. Rinna continues to come across as a total monster. Like some kind of evil gargoyle who has sold her soul in a Faustian pact with satan for continued appearances on the show. I enjoyed Sutton's excessive shopping. However, methinks the lady doth protest too much about trying on clothes in front of other people. There are some serious body image issues going on there. Speaking of body image issues...if anyone thinks that a takedown of Garcelle is going to work based on her statement about Rinna, they're dreaming. Garcelle is 100% correct. Dorit is having a great season and I hope she continues to check Kyle. Erika and the other one were wholly irrelevant. Neither of them should return next season. RHONY I loved this episode. I like that the ladies keep it moving and don't allow the show to get stale or fixate on really petty feuds about non-issues. I loved Sonja's birthday party at the Mexican restaurant. She looked so happy in such uncomplicated surroundings. Sonja appreciates the real deal, simple, pure acts of friendship. That's all she wants. I also enjoyed Lu joining the volleyball game. The ladies were right - she does look like a Bond Girl in that bikini. Confidence like hers is sexier than anything. Next week looks good with Dorinda being confronted. If she's not an alcoholic, or won't admit to it, she would be well advised to scale back on the booze. She goes to such a mean and angry place that it doesn't really work for her anymore.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Ugh, I am so sorry to hear that. It is still a very poorly understood cluster of conditions. I've suffered from TMJ myself and followed Bethenny's lead. It worked for me, but like any treatment, isn't a silver bullet for all. It made such an impact on her face because her masseter muscles had grown exponentially large.

Masseter Botox is a real thing and it works incredibly well for people who suffer from TMJ (like Bethenny did).

Y&R to air classic episodes
Yes. Moving Jill out of the Abbott sphere generally, which started around 2003 with the Kay is Jill’s mother storyline, and was complete by 2005 with Gloria taking her natural role in the Abbott storyline, was absolutely wrong. It hurt the Abbotts generally, the Jabot angle, Billy specifically, and Jill as well. Jabot mattered for the character because Jabot was where Jill found her independence and purpose and excelled at something. It is also an issue the show could fix instantly. Such a shame they don’t seem interested in doing so.

Y&R to air classic episodes
The classics have really made me appreciate, on a superficial level, how much the look of the show has changed. The size and depth of the old sets was really impressive. And boy has that changed in the last decade. Otherwise, agreed on VR - she was a force of nature. And, of course, the value Jess Walton brought (and could still bring) to the canvas is massive.

I forgot to mention: Giselle's house is HIDEOUS. Some of the ugliest, most basic, least inventive, and tacky, interior design I have seen in a very long time.

RHOP Great kickoff to what looks like another excellent season. It was very well edited with plenty of juice and drama with ground work laid for what we'll see throughout the season. So good to have Karen back on my screen.

NETFLIX: The Crown
I'm glad to hear it. I imagine Season 6 will end in 2002 with as that is likely the natural bookend that's long ago that history can have some appreciation for it, but not too distant in the past that it leaves the series feeling incomplete. I am very interested to see who will be cast as Sarah Ferguson. She is a particularly fascinating character to me and while I imagine she will only appear in a few episodes in seasons, either late in season 4 or in seasons 5 and 6, but I hope Peter Morgan gives her some attention as she intersected between Diana, Andrew, Philip, The Queen Mother and Princess Margaret, as well as Her Majesty, quite a lot.

Happy 2001 pages everyone. It’s so fun to post with you all - and it’s been over a decade! Re: Nene. What is the status of her and the upcoming RHOA season? Do we know? Is she still negotiating?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
That clearly caught Vyle off guard because she didn't even have a minute to whine "Oh but I DO, Dorit! I love Denise!"...she just had to keep shtum, knowing Denise hates her.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I cannot wait for Potomac! That's exactly what it was and why Vyle made sure she loudly said "And Denise, we don't care!"...like she's some ally. What a bitch.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Like, it was incredible to see two people just say "Nope, nope I am not here for this bullsh*t, I will not be complicit in this" and annihilate Vyle and John Mellencamp's daughter without breaking a sweat. Garcelle has unfollowed Rinna on Instagram. I hope that sticks. Rinna has demonstrated herself to be a loathsome individual.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Dorit is having a banner season. I was practically yelling "You go, girl!" as she stood up to Kyle and kept on making her point. And I applaud Sutton for just letting it fly with John Cougar Mellencamp's daughter. She has called it 100% correctly.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Which is perfect because the last thing we need is another repetitive reunion broken up into 3 unnecessary hours when a solid 1 hour reunion would probably do just fine.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I think NY should film the reunion in Lu's backyard in the Hamptons. Outdoors, everyone in separate seats, natural light, and local.

JFP would have been a disaster at AMC. She had been a destructive element at OLTL from a morale perspective, and she decimated GH creatively, in the long run, sidelining so many vets. She would have struggled with the tone of the show a great deal and also would have struggled with Agnes Nixon's presence. Behr's role wasn't really phased out - she was. There were other VP's in the daytime division at ABC reporting to Frons, and I have zero doubt that she and Frons would not have seen things the same way. It was a fatal error on the part of ABC to hire Frons as President of ABC Daytime, rather than promote Behr. Behr would have excelled. Meanwhile, Frons failed upward all the way to his own termination years later, after he'd cancelled OLTL and AMC. To quote Susan Lucci: "Brian Frons has what, for me, is that fatal combination of ignorance and arrogance."

In hindsight, AMC had a remarkably stable executive producing infrastructure in place and tended to promote from within for much of its run. I look at it as having four main EP era periods: 1. The originating period of 1970 - 1982 is the Agnes Nixon era where she was both EP and HW; 2. The growth period of the balance of the 80s were dominated by Jackie Babbin who had been an ABC executive and was hand picked by Nixon, who was later succeeded by two short lived EPs, but both of whom were hired by Agnes Nixon as well; 3. The hitting its stride period which is the Behr era that lasted from 1989 - 1996, but which I'd argue extended to 2003 through Francesca James and Jean Dadario Burke who both came up through the AMC ranks and were promoted from within; 4. The network interference era where Brian Frons installed EPs of his choosing at all three of the ABC soaps with Julie Hanan Carruthers at AMC. Julie had a long history at GH and PC, and it's somewhat odd that she was placed on AMC when she had a 9 year run between GH and PC in lesser producer roles. You'd have thought she was a natural fit for GH, but at the time JFP was there and it seems Frons wanted to reward Carruthers, with whom he worked with at Santa Barbara. The blessing was that Julie was well liked by the AMC cast and their set was, by in large, a peaceful one. She did a very poor job of policing the creative direction of the show, but under the Frons era, Jesus H. Christ himself would have been powerless.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
+1 to all of this. What a great episode. I actually liked the Dorinda/Sonja scene at Romana's party where Dorinda was getting Sonja to admit how much stress she's under.
