My favourite is when Brooke finally slapped Stephanie back on B&B. It was during the height of the BeLief-story, emotions were running high and they finally boiled over and everything exploded.

That is such an excellent scene. The story has been told so many times that the accurate one is a mystery, but either KKL didn't tell Flannery she was going to slap her, or it wasn't in the script, or the two planned it out so that they'd actually hit each other...but it was an electric acting choice.

Two of my favourite slaps involve Donna Love on Another World. In both, Donna does the first slap and then is shocked and appalled when Jake and Vicky slap her back, at 3:00 and 6:10 respectively:

I wonder which long term vet it was that said they had experienced this type of behavior so long in their career, and that it was remarkable that it was actually getting worse.

If you look at the cast, think of whose been in the business a long time and whose been on multiple shows and the answer can only be one or two people.

Albert Alarr is still employed at "Days of our Lives." As a result, 25 cast members have signed a petition calling for his dismissal.

I applaud the cast for sticking together but it's beyond sad that it had to come to this.

I wonder what is going on with Ken Corday. Could it be that he's unwell and that's why he's delegated so much? He was last photographed at the Daytime Emmys last year. It's simply unlike him. He's always intervened when things have gone wrong.

It was indeed one of the best moments of RH I have ever seen. Gizelle's father had no f***s left to give when it came to Jamal and was happy to unload on a producer about it. This is his face just before they sat down for that fake scene with Jamal and Gizelle, and it never fails to crack me up.

I couldn't find the scene anywhere (sob! Did the Bryants have it scrubbed from the interwebs?), but I did find another short clip featuring Curtis Graves, the one where he showed the women around that former plantation in Louisiana. One of RHOP's best episodes ever IMO (on a par with RHOA's episode when they stopped at a school in South Africa).

He was a truly good man and a fierce and loyal father.

He knew what was up and wasn't afraid to tell his own daughter what a fool she was making of herself.

I don't believe Greg Meng is a production-producer though.  I believe he was money-producer on the business side of things.  When Greg was a Co-EP, Noel Maxam, Lisa De Cazotte and Albert Alarr were also Co-EPs.  I'd say just promote Janet and let her be Co-EP to run the day-to-day operations.   Then promote Randy Dugan from Producer to Supervising Producer, Sara McCormick from Associate Producer to Producer, and someone from the production staff to Associate Producer.  No need to bring any from the outside.

    Very good proposed structure.

I think Meng is one of those people the cast trusted and liked, so would be a potential good bridge between Corday and the cast, who it sound like have been put through the wringer.

Wow this is appalling, disgusting to read…how is Alarr still even employed? Combine that with Ron Carlivati’s toxic writing, no wonder the show keeps sinking.

I’m glad Deadline covered this well though given the soap press is almost nonexistent these days.

And where is Corday on this? Ken was always front and center doing damage control during the debacles of Langan, JER 2.0, Sheffer, Thomas/McPherson, and Josh Griffith tenures I wonder if he’s just stopped caring and just tired of trying anymore. Old Ken would’ve fired Alarr and solely placed the blame of bad quality on Alarr while also sharing his latest plan to save Days to the soap press.

    https://www.thewrap.com/lisa-rinna-director-albert-alarr-misconduct-allegations/

There's definitely still time for him to do this.

Lisa Rinna and however many sources for Deadline can beat that drum and get Alarr fired.

And I concur about everyone wondering why Greg Meng hasn't been brought back on immediately. He was very well liked by the cast.

This whole story is so strange to me because DAYS has long had a reputation for being a decent set, not as easy going as B&B, but not a bunch of drama like like GH and Y&R

The only actor I can recall who had a buzz cut was Greg Vaughan, though I don't remember when or if he was on or off contract at the time.

He’s the one who came to mind, along with Wally Kurth they both have had buzz cuts.

What I find intriguing is all the discussion around the cast having a lot of recurring actors now. I wonder whose on that list these days?

I think Atlanta, the issue at this point isn't the women... it's production! They need to change production teams. I think this is a problem with the majority of these shows (minus Miami and now nuRHONY).

As expected, I enjoyed nuRHONY. It was fresh, diverse, and I totally see the potential there. I'd be scared if I were a lot of these other cities b/c if new NY becomes a success, Andy is going to cut all these women for cheaper, newer wives.

I'm surprised I feel just the opposite to you, on both counts.

    ATL

ATL isn't working because of the cast. These women hate each other. There is no chemistry. Kenya is clocking in, Kandi is using it as a publicity tool, Sheree is fronting, Sanya, Marlo, and Drew do not have the star power to be a next generation.

    nuRHONY

Flop. So boring. They literally had a fight about cheese and the trailer looked incredibly dull. Also, Bravo was leaning a lot on the 'Look at them being moms! Look at the little kids!' and that's something a lot of viewers absolutely hate.

That resulted in the LOL scene of Brock sneaking a bucket of fried chicken into the house.

I remember that scene. Katherine digging into the bucket of fried chicken, her long nails digging in while her diamonds sparkled...she was palpably relieved to be eating something fattening. It was laugh out loud funny.

    All My Children

'80s: Opal, Langley, Phoebe, Tad, Erica, Verla Grubbs, Marian, Alfred VanderPool

    '90s: Janet (KC)

I believe AMC is the soap that integrated humour into the DNA of the show. Many characters were light and comedic. Marian was one of my favourites.

This has reminded me of recently watching 1995 B&B episodes where Gladys told Sally that she was Taylor Forrester's make up lady.

Sally, still believing Taylor to be dead said something like "she'd be needing a hell of a lot of make up at this point." There was something so spot on about Darlene's delivery, it made me laugh out loud. A real gem.

Darlene was just really good at everything she did. Towards the end of her run as Sally, when Marc MacLaine confessed to helping Stephanie fake her heart attack, Sally drove Marc in her Cadillac away from the Forrester mansion, pulls over on the Santa Monica Freeway, has him get a bottle of scotch out where the spare tire should be and laments: "Another fallen idol. First, Martha Stewart, and now this!

I read this story yesterday.  My first thought was that the decor was so specific that it couldn't have been their original plan to use it as a rental, which made me question if it is a money issue.  Then, I read her reasoning that she wants something like a fresh start, which made me question if they are getting a divorce.  Finally, as a RHoBH fan, I wondered if they ever finished their basement reno.

I never realized that they bought a tear-down in upper Bel Air, and then built their home from scratch.  Taste is subjective, and I don't appreciate theirs, yet that is an impressive amount of wealth. I guess she didn't only marry Rob for his good looks...

I've always thought Rob seemed like a very nice, supportive husband.

That said, my first thought was divorce. The alternative is they're going to try living in Malibu or Santa Monica or Santa Barbara for a year and see how they like it and, if so, sell in Bel-Air. Each of those areas is far enough away from the Bel-Air lifestyle/commute that you might consider trying before buying.

Wait, what?? Plot twst: Kyle & Mauricio deny they are divorcing:

I'm actually glad, because I do not wish them ill [(c) Alison Dubois]. They genuinely seemed like a love match. Kyle went against her family's dictats to marry him, a relative unknown in her mother's mind.

Something about this statement, though, screams crisis management, perhaps for the sake of Portia who is still a child and in school. Also, how to untangle the Umansky finances in a divorce? What has been purchased with RHOBH money, and with Agency money? The gorgeous Father of the Bride house they live in? The chalet in Aspen? Kim's Goddamn House in Palm Desert? Mexico?

All this is as dramatic and twist-turny as any great soap. Bravo and the RHOBH crew need to be ON IT because otherwise the season which just filmed will be completely overshadowed by this news.

P.S.: The evil part of me cackled when I saw this:

Call my a cynic, but now this feels like storyline and a way to drum up interest. Until I see a divorce filing citing "irreconcilable differences" I have to be skeptical about Kyle. It would be just like her to create a scandal just to overtake the #Scandoval that gave LVP such a resurgence.

Jill really went through a lot of men in 1992 didn’t she lol? She started out still in that Rex/Jill/John/Leanna quad, was with Blade by summer, was with Victor by fall, and was married to John finally by winter

You can see the seed being planted as John looked jealous of Blade and Jill at his party.
