    Nov. 7, 2023
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) today announced four days of celebrations honoring individuals in the Daytime and Children’s & Family television communities. NATAS-produced Emmy® Award ceremonies include:

    The Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy® Awards Luncheon — 12:00 noon PT, Saturday afternoon, December 16;

    The 2nd Annual Children’s & Family Creative Arts Emmy® Awards Dinner — 8:00 pm PT,  Saturday evening, December 16;

The 2nd Annual Children’s & Family Emmy® Awards and Trustees’ Gala — 5:00 pm PT, topping off the weekend of festivities on Sunday evening, December 17.

All three Emmy celebrations will be held at the historic Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. Additionally, NATAS will kick off the weekend with a private luncheon to honor its 2023 Daytime and Children’s & Family inductees into the Gold & Silver Circle honor society on Thursday, December 14.

Legendary talk show host Maury Povich, who was previously announced as a Daytime Emmys® Lifetime Achievement Honoree, will receive his award at the Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle ceremony on Saturday afternoon, December 16.

    SAG-AFTRA Strike Information

SAG-AFTRA members appearing on Daytime Dramas, Talk Shows, and other Non-Dramatic Programs recognized by the Daytime Emmy Awards work under the guild’s Network Code agreement, which remains a non-struck contract. The majority of programs recognized in the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards competition were similarly produced under agreements not subject to the strike.

However, some Children’s & Family Emmy-nominated programs remain struck. NATAS salutes the nominated performances of those SAG-AFTRA members who appeared in these programs but acknowledges that it is a violation of the guild’s strike rules for such members to promote or publicize their nominations for struck work.

SAG-AFTRA members are strongly advised to observe the strike rules at all times. NATAS remains hopeful that a fair deal will be reached prior to the awards ceremonies. The events themselves are produced under separate non-dramatic agreements that are not subject to the strike order. NATAS will modify ceremony formats as needed to respect any remaining strike obligations of guild members.

So what I'm not following is whether a televised show is happening or are the major categories (acting, producing, writing, directing) being covered at one of those three events?

Thank god for Monica! This almost became the first boring episode of the season but that fight with Lis at the end saved. Those two going at it will go down as one of the most hilarious fight in the franchise. I cackled. They were so childish and it was hilarious with Angie in the middle and Whiney getting bothered by them at her business. A mess! Lisa tried it and she's no match for Monica who dragged her

    Amen. Monica obliterated Lisa.

Admittedly, I have never understood the appeal of Lisa or how she garnered the nickname ‘Fabulous Ice’ on this board because all I see is a self centred, dumb, whiney woman with a penchant for junk food and overpriced diamonds.

She made an ass of herself at Whitney’s Tupperware style jewellery event. Monica is not afraid of her and she’s right that there are parallels between Monica’s mother and Lisa.

    Meredith did nothing this episode.

Cute scene for Heather’s daughter and her prom date.

Angie was very measured this episode and that fairness is a good trait in real life, but so hard to handle as a Housewife.

    LOL!

I had to howl at Katie’s lifeless narration of the show, like HT put in zero effort.

Marie Osmond as the countess was totally over the top camp and not in a good way either lol.

Esther and Charlie were corny as hell this whole time…this whole crossover was focused on this and not focused on anything Lauren related?

And I agree with the above, the show’s ending was very Hokey Pokey silly. Surprised Eric didn’t mention the stapler again 🤣🤣

It's like the part was written for someone else and they had a last minute cancellation. Marie was so bad.

The whole week was a wild flop. I binge watched it while cooking this weekend. I couldn't believe how low stakes it all felt. Fashion shows were the highest stakes events on B&B and this one just flopped.

Only thing I got from Potomac's episode last night was that Robyn is willingly deluded. I think Robyn knows that Juan's and his stupid antics are a sure way to ensure she keeps that Bravo check. She knows that she alone is not interesting enough to keep a full-time position on the show. Such a shame.

I loved seeing Robyn dragged throughout the episode last night. The producers were NOT playing with her

I agree - production was not playing on Robyn's side (thank goodness) and did not hesitate to highlight what a deluded clown she is.

Otherwise, great to have Potomac back, but the episode was boring.

I couldn’t be more excited. I got more from this promo than the entire season of the reboot.

I'm excited too! And OMG THEY BROUGHT BACK THE PIRATE.

I was surprised that Ramona wasn't missing from the trailer completely. It still feels like she's going to play a key part in RHUGT.

I think Bravo will edit what they can, but given the Ultimate Girls Trips occur in a static setting over a week, there is likely little they can do to eliminate Ramona.

This has got to be one of the worse 2nd episodes to any season. This was BORING! Im guessing the early rumblings about the season were right. That PK/Dorito segment should have been 1 segment but they dragged it out for like a half hour. No one cares!

Crystal's brother and he getting a confessional....no one cares!  I dont even know what was up with Erica. Garcelle and Sutton's scene was the only thing that interested me. I wasnt here for Kyle playing in our faces with her manufactured drama. This season is gonna be a slog to get through. Id give this episode a 4.

    Miami

Not gonna lie but i felt it started off slow but it did redeem itself by the end. Im guessing they did that to reintroduce the ladies bc it did moe networks but I thought the first couple of segments were boring. It started picking up though. Julia came to work! She was like Im gonna earn that Bravo check as she CHECKED Marysol. So unexpected but that had me dying. I like how the end was edited with th audience reveal of Guerdy's illness. Its gonna be heartbreaking yet good tv when she tells the ladies. Overall this was much better than BH. I'd give the episode a 7. So far, SLC is still that girl

This was the weirdest and dullest BH episode I've ever seen, and that's saying something because I sat through all of Season 8.

They need to rename RHOBH The Boris & Natasha Show. I don't think I've ever seen so much of Dorit in one episode. Look, I'm glad she came activated and energized this season, but nobody needed to see her and PK cosplaying Pretty Woman. Who asked for PK sausaged into his casino tux? Richard Gere he ain't. Some random caterwauling Take My Breath Away (wrong movie BTW)? WTF am I watching here? This is exactly why production called up Kim and Denise, and told Kyle to ramp up the escándalo.

Speaking of the scripted, post-filmed nonsense that is Kyle & Mauricio -- the only thing I can recall about this segment was how much Mo is going to look like his father in 5 years. And how much one of Kyle's daughters is going to look like Mo's mother in 45 years.

Crystal's brother something-something looking to get married. This is Crystal's story this year. OK.

Erika is clearly banking on the show being so dull that Bravo comes begging for Lisa Rinna to return. So far her strategy is working.

I'm not sure I'm ready for next week and Sutton walking out of the Magic Mike show in outrage.

I agree with both of you. What a boring episode.

It only serves to reinforce to me that Kyle and Mauricio's 'marriage trouble' is scripted AF and is being done in post to try and salvage this season.

It also explains the late in season drafting in of Denise and Camille.

Crystal should not have returned. If a storyline has to involve another party it's an automatic fail.

Rinna, however, is not the answer. She drove the show into the ground as a toxic mess.

They need a return of LVP.

Another great episode. This show is firing on all cylinders this season.

Heather was a supporting character this episode hosting events to spur interaction between the ladies and in both instances they succeeded.

Lisa had little to do other than talk about how violent Colombia is. I'm surprised she didn't mention the cocaine given her cultural awareness.

Meredith also had little to do. Nobody believes that car accident was potentially lethal. Nobody. She needs to give that one up.

Angie's father is adorable and doing great for 86!

Whitney will do anything to stay on this show. First, she's clearly playing with her marriage to Justin and creating strife in the name of long suffering housewife heroines everywhere having to plan multiple events (*snort laugh*), and then she humiliates herself by sitting down for dinner with Mary. Mary positively loathes Whitney, and is obviously a deranged, awful woman in her own right, but good lord Whitney, what did you think was going to happen sitting down with Mary? Mary has never, ever, pretended to like Whitney. Never. But suddenly Whitney claims they had a friendship worth saving? No. That scene was hilarious and cringe. Despite Mary being a total bitch who I would never want to encounter in real life, she's perfect for a scene like that and an accidental jester like Whitney.

Monica...and Monica's mother...WHEW. At first, I wondered if Monica was gilding the lily when she was talking to Heather and the other ladies, mentioning that her mother took her car away and was throwing a tantrum. I have seen Monica's mother do a few social media posts this week to defend herself...and some of what she said seemed, on the surface, as potentially believable. But by the end of the episode, when Monica's thirsty mother starts the scene in tears, and then openly admits to leaving Monica in a trunk of a car so she could make out with a guy, asking Monica, incredulously, what else was she supposed to do...I was done. What an evil, despicable, pig bitch.

Who here on SON wants to chip in and buy Monica a used car?

You've got Linda Gray, from DALLAS; Donna Mills and Nicollette Sheridan, from KNOTS; and Morgan Fairchild, from FALCON CREST, FLAMINGO ROAD and PAPER DOLLS; but you know who or what's missing?  Someone from DYNASTY!

    spacer.png

Dame Joan must have passed on it because this project would have been ideal for her given she's friends with Donna Mills, Morgan Fairchild, and Linda Gray.

  8. @NothinButAttitude And here I was about to say it's an honour to be mistaken for @Cat!

    BH

A dull start to the season. I can see why Faye, Camille, and Denise were drafted in for late season cameos to spice things up.

I can also see why there's a growing murmur that Kyle and Mauricio manufactured this storyline. It feels quite scripted. The tattoo discussion was just plain weird. Mauricio's teeth now top LVP for being the most startling new choppers on Bravo.

The potential breakup coming down the pike that I think is very real is that of PK and Dorit. There is tension there and they've just released a statement about the current state of their marriage:

    https://people.com/rhobh-dorit-kemsley-paul-kemsley-deny-separation-8382813

Enjoyed the scenes with Garcelle and her sons who have grown up rapidly.

Meanwhile, Erika's scenes felt very manufactured, especially those with her therapist. It seems to me that she knows she needs to turn around public opinion and the only way to do it is to admit that she's cold and lacks empathy but that she wants to change.

Sutton's scenes with Jennifer Tilly were fun. Jennifer receives 30% of the net profits attributed to The Simpsons co-creator Sam Simon...so she can afford to live large.

    Crystal who?

Eileen returning as Kristen for the first time since the 90’s was SO SO good that first run. I believe it earned Eileen her first Emmy too.

Yes, that first return was incredible. Kristen's romance with Brady, her sexual assault of Eric, Victor and Marlena blowing up the wedding, Kristen and Marlena's confrontation - it was an umbrella storyline that enhanced the show incredibly. And yes, it won Eileen her first Emmy.

Yeah, pretty ho-hum and the deliveries on most are flat.

They were all terrible. Sutton and Crystal had the worst ones.

Kyle not referencing 'this town' or 'in Beverly Hills' is shocking.

I saw a report they were bringing back the entire OC cast as is and I think it’s an excellent decision. This is the first season in ages that felt like OC. Even Emily and Gina whom I’ve never understood the purpose, may have finally found their place.

I hope it bears out to be true. Tamrat definitely said it out loud at the reunion and even one of Andy's fake audience questions at the reunion echoed the same sentiment. OC has struggled for years and was floundering with cast after cast. This year, it worked, and they'd be unwise to deviate from it.

    Lol

Neither being on makes any sense.

They should've cast with either Dame Joan, Stephanie Beacham or Donna Mills in the roll.

    Marie Osmond is laughable.

Stephanie appeared as herself on B&B about 15 years ago or so, attending a fashion show.

This countess cameo was made for Dame Joan - Marie is a nice lady, but never believable as aristocratic Eurotrash.

  13. I liked Suzanne Somers a lot and her death is a reminder that time is marching on.

She worked hard. She was not a snob. She stood up for herself. Her husband, Alan Hamel, must be devastated. They were true blue partners. As well, her only child, Bruce, was the light of her life. I remember her saying when he was born she looked at this baby and promised him she'd give him a good life. She succeeded so brilliantly.

Rest in peace, Suzanne. May her memory be a blessing.

  14. Saw another one of those episodes that is darker and more sinister: Season 2, Episode 13, Trial By Error. Jessica is a jury foreperson and they work on determining the guilt of an accused.

The ending is really good and show's Jessica's disgust.
