  1. Re ATWT Joe Silver as Mr Jason. He was the DA and appeared in 1958. He could have been involved in Jeff Baker's murder trial and/or Don Hughes law career.
  2. Re Kitty Foyle Add Juliene Marie and Jeanne Barr Bill Meeder was the organist
  3. Loving this discussion and analysis of this time frame. Kevin was another character that was dropped.I recall some interaction with Julia. Did he get a proper sendoff or just vanish? Kevin could have stayed and been used in a variety of ways. There was always that past with Nikki to touch upon. Bill was looking for a mate for Ashley (eg Brian). Maybe Kevin could have been used there? The move to 60 min really did a number on the show. At that point he had resorted to an amnesia plot for Leslie to set up Lorie taking care of Brooks. Then John McCook left as Lance. Lucas hooked up with Casey but when Leslie gravitated to Lucas again Casey and Jonas got involved. Snapper and Chris had little to do (I think David Hasselhoff had out clauses in his contract to film pilots etc) As stated Bill didn't seem enamored of Lynne Topping. There was Dr Jane Lewis who had some interest in Snapper but that went nowhere. The original Kay/Derek/Jill triangle got muddled with Suzanne, and Derek going to work at Chancellor. How were Derek and Suzanne written out? They never explored Derek's son Jamie either. Key got stranded on an island with Felipe and then I think Jeanne was offscreen for several months before she got involved with Cash the stripper/escort. A lot of stuff going on over those years.
  4. My only recollection of Howard's Greg was when he was a talk to for Jill when she decided to sell the Foster home without any legal right to do so. Will again state that John Silva character with a few tweaks could have been Greg Foster and kept the family around longer.
  5. December 1959 1, As The World Turns 10.2 2. Search For Tomorrow 10.0 3. The Guiding Light 9.9 4. Secret Storm 9.2 5. Price Is Right 9.2 6. House Party 9.0 7. Concentration 9.0 8. Edge of Night 8.8 9. Big Payoff 8.7 10. Verdict Is Yours 8.7
  6. One strand that was briefly mentioned when Eve came on was that she had crossed paths with Derek previously. Eve moved in with Jill and through Liz managed to get a job with Stu. Stu/Liz/Eve triangle never really developed.
  7. I think that was still Wings at that point.
  8. John and Joyce Corrington
  9. How nice of you to post. As you might have gathered, there are a few of us who appreciate the lost history of soaps. Anything you can recall about your time would be most appreciated. Yes, all the storyline you detailed has never been mentioned in histories of the show, so anything else you can add would be most welcome.😊
  10. Without going back through synopses that sounds a possibility. There was a lot of movement with characters in that time as Bill Bell tried to adjust to the 60 min format and ratings dropped. Michael Scott was interested in Lorie, then moved to Julia before being written out. Robert Laurence was also hinted at being involved with Lorie but was shifted to Leslie. There was a Jack/Peggy/Steve/Jill thing but then Jack went onto Patty. His earlier involvement with Jill and her sexual harassment case against him laid the groundwork for their long time bitterness. After Jill/John/Jack round 1, Jill was moved onto Andy and so on...
  11. A rare photo of Judge Lowell (William Johnstone) I believe he stopped appearing in 79 without explanation. Sad when veteran performers are dishonored ...
  12. Liam Sullivan began as Alan Dunbar April 9 1971
  13. Thank you😊 I remember a news clipping of NBC trumpeting that Mel & Ethel had been signed to an exclusive contract by the network and would be working on one of their soaps. They never headwrote again, I don't think - but did work on writing staffs of other soaps over the years. I get the impression that they followed through on a lot of Marland's outlines as there weren't many radical changes in their tenure. Here's another bit of nostalgia
  14. Amy, it seems you are still able to watch on Retro. What date was Marland's last episode? March 20 1978.Fire breaks out at Andre's. Two characters are killed off.
  15. For whatever reason Marland jumped into GH and things improved immediately. Probably having Gloria Monty go to bat for him and having the 1 hour format to play with. He also learnt from TD not to continue with stories he didn't like eg Joan Dancy / Carolee stashed away. He wrapped up the Jeff/Lana split personality story quickly when he came to GH.
  16. Not sure exact date the Retro eps are up to (late Oct 77?) but Marland is out and Mel and Ethel Brez are the new headwriters. I think Marland's last story was having newlyweds Tom and MJ take on supervision of her nephew Ricky. I wonder how the switch to GH worked? Was Marland dropped by TD and then available to move to GH? Or did he get an offer from ABC and quit TD?
  17. Quite a list! Looking forward to it...
