This far into the topic and no mention of Victor Newman?? Particularly post 2000 and throughout the MAB years. He is still far too prominent today.

Lauren,Michael, Kevin,Chloe, Faith,Moses, Nate,Elena etc They get scenes and plot points but not stories. eg Michael goes to Peru, He disappears.Lauren worrie.,Lauren blasts Victor.Michael reappears.All is well.

Always seems odd to me that throughout the 70's neither Barbara nor Alan reappeared. Seems a no brainer to have those characters on the canvas. Barbara had been married twice right? Tony Vento and Rick Latimer. Alan once? Can't remember the character off hand, but Alan's stories are never mentioned in summaries of the story in the 60's.

I don't think Gina's was around since the debut. The original Pierre's restaurant became The Allegro.Did the design change at that point under the guise of Leslie doing a revamp? When amnesiac Les got involved with Jonas, they created a set for his club,(Oh the days of those kind of budgets!) When Les returned to GC,Jonas followed so she had The Allegro transformed into a replica of his out of town club) Obviously,they didn't want to waste the Jonas set and probably The Allegro was looking a little tired at that point. Then Gina took over and that set became Gina's.

Esther will fantasize about Jack and Victor fighting over her and Nick swooping in and staking his claim. It will be one scene.

Will Esther actually appear for this or they'll just talk about it?

Susan got Towering Inferno while she was on Days. Did she ever talk about how that came to be? Did she take much time off Days to do the movie? But once she left Days there wasn't much. The Moneychangers mini series got great ratings but she was one of many. Women in White was an NBC mini series that was a possible series that never came to be. There were a couple of TV movies. Then she did Dallas and not much more. Was she focusing on trying to get a foothold in directing/producing in the early 80's? She accepted the lead in Scruples but that soap got cancelled at NBC when Frons took over,I think. So I guess by the time B&B came around she was ready and needed the work.

They still could have Liz address the situation, saying she and Stuart had decided to part. Stuart was still running the Chronicle but it wasn't central to the plot so he could have stayed in GC but no longer part of the story. There was no need for him to be seen.

This has been discussed elsewhere. In Days case, as we know all the tapes were kept, whereas on the live shows they had to specify ahead of time if they wanted to retain a particular scene. So days had access to all past episodes, the reason the flashback is lengthy I believe is that tape editing was not as advanced so they had to show the entire scene.

So Y&R recognizes it's roots with Janice Lynde returning. But not one mention of anything to do with Leslie's time on the show. She could have been anybody. I'm sure newer viewers would have wondered why she was even there.

Let's add Addie and Tom Jr into the mix.Apart from Marie the rest of the Hortons were old before their time. Tom and Alice were supposed to have married young, By the time she was in her 50's , Alice had 30 years of wife and mother under her belt. She was also a grandmother. Raising all those kids she wouldn't be paying much attention to fashion and personal style. Also at that time, women of a certain age adopted a look deemed appropriate for their age. Also I guess they wanted Alice to look a little older when they were casting actors who weren't young enough to be her children IRL. Actually, later on Alice dressed much more fashionably as a woman in her 70's.

So why is she still strutting around tow? Her punishment seemed to be being locked up for a few months, then allowed under supervision of Rey to see her ailing mother. Then Rey returned, so she suddenly didn't need supervision. When she returned all was forgiven and forgotten and she and Rey were besties. Really?

They should have gotten a lot more out of the Steven character. Ashley's marriage should have lasted longer with more complications. Still maintain he could have been Steve Williams, again tying the Williams and Abbott families together .

I suppose Corbin was LA born and bred and moving to NY and getting some soap work was seen as training/waiting for the big break-a primetime series. Jeanne worked in primetime and only accepted Y&R because work had dried up for a woman her age. She may have defended soaps but I'm sure she was still supportive of Corbin doing other stuff than being locked into soaps at a young age.

I recall that John Kelly Genovese criticized the story at the time because Doug and Julie acted like idiots throughout (although some might say this was in character) He felt it should have been a story that showed how their great love would help them overcome their struggles rather than the usual ' I can't be a burden to my husband, so i'll pretend our love has died'
