  1. You're welcome @Toups
  2. @JAS0N47 Were there any pre-emptions April 28-May 2, 1986 for coverage of Chernobyl?
  3. Vixens played by actresses of color. At least Mishael Morgan got an Emmy out of her return as Amanda, and has moved on to bigger and better things. Even though her character wasn't a vixen, Sasha Calle has also moved on to bigger and better things.
  4. Anna Stuart was temporary Vanessa when Maeve Kinkead was on pregnancy leave. There are some Fall 1981 episodes floating around where Maeve was filmed in a way to disguise pregnancy.
  5. delete
  6. Capitol first week pretty much inheriting Search for Tomorrow CBS audience. P&G probably realized early on what a mistake it was angering CBS to the point that they dropped Search for Tomorrow since the move to NBC turned out to be an epic failure. It's so funny that Search for Tomorrow NBC run would end three months before Capitol ended.
  7. @Soapsuds Capitol was a time filler/placeholder until Bill Bell had a second show ready.
  8. Big changes coming up on CBS: Y&R EP change from John Conboy to H. Wesley Kenney, Search for Tomorrow ends, Capitol premieres.
  9. I still watch Y&R and will probably stay until the end, even though I consider 2006 onward to be not classic.
  10. No. Their pairing was so random. Probably not. Another random pairing.
  11. It will always be a crime that Beverlee McKinsey never got a Lead Actress nomination for her work on GL. Beverlee could have easily won at least one of 1991, 1992, 1993 as the Lead Actress races in those years I thought were rather weak.
  12. Also Jason Thompson has played Billy the longest (7 years).
  13. I have no idea. Maybe someone who was following in real time would have better insights.
  14. It's amazing that GL was able to hold its own against General Hospital when that show was at it's peak as a pop culture phenomenon. From what I've seen of the Allen Potter/Douglas Marland era, the main storylines that I'd say impacted GL right until the end were Roger's fall off the cliff in Santo Domingo, Alan/Hope marriage, intros of Chamberlain, Lewis, Reardon families.
  15. Primetime soap reruns were probably more successful on cable. I didn't know Falcon Crest was rerun on Lifetime. Was it in the 1990s? The Soapnet reruns were early 2000s and AFAIK the whole series was not seen again until FreeVee last year.
  16. We can add members of the Abbott family to the list. John: Dina, Jill, Jessica, Jill, Gloria Jack: Patty, Nikki, Luan, Phyllis, Sharon, Nikki, Phyllis, Diane Ashley: Steven, Victor, Blade, Cole, Brad, Victor, Tucker, Tucker Traci: Danny, Brad, Brad, Steve
  17. If the new Bell show was at 1:30/12:30 it would be in direct competition w/ Reilly's Days and no way CBS and the Bells are having that. Also by 1997 GL was not airing at 3/2 in many major media markets so I don't think the Bells would want B&B subjected to the same fate. Maybe some 1992-1997 articles from soap magazines have info about Coming of Age, but I don't remember reading about the story bible.
  18. Fall 1986 was not good timing to start reruns. I haven't seen anything to confirm this, but I doubt primetime soap reruns on network affiliates were beating Oprah.
  19. Y&R Victor and Nikki Christmas at the ranch where we first learned the backstory of Victor's childhood. Y&R Victor and Nikki New Year at the ranch that we've seen in flashbacks numerous times over the years. 1982 had Y&R big cast change, Search for Tomorrow CBS run comes to an end, GL Douglas Marland leaves as HW. There's going to be lots of movement in the ratings this year.
  20. Janet two best slow jams
  21. Victor: Julia, Nikki, Leanna (not legal), Ashley, Hope, Diane, Nikki (not legal), Nikki, Sabrina, Ashley, Meggie (not legal), Diane, Sharon, Sharon, Nikki Nikki: Greg, Kevin, Tony (not legal), Victor, Jack, Josh, Victor (not legal), Victor, David, Deacon, Jack, Victor Am I missing any?
  22. Luke/Laura turned ABC into the rapemance network. Same s--- happened with One Life to Live Todd.
  23. Madonna two best ballads, released a decade apart.
  24. Dallas went off the rails in the aftermath of Pamela disappearance and was effectively over with Sue Ellen departure. 1987/88 to me feels like the natural end point of the show. The final three seasons were not needed and I feel they only happened because CBS was such a mess in primetime back then.
