I actually do understand because I dated a very handsome African American man for a year. I never got pulled over in my own car while driving so many times. Once the officer said my tail light was out. I asked him which one. He said the left. I said, is it OK if I get out of the car so that you can show me - the car is only 1 year old and I just had it inspected. And I said to my boyfriend and asked the officer - is it ok if he reaches across the console and hits the brake? And the officer said yes. Went around back, and both lights lit up. I said, well that's odd...looks like everything is OK. He said, yeah, I just wanted to make sure everything was OK. My boyfriend at the time had dreads. I'm sure he saw me with a black man and thought something must be wrong. I used to say while growing up in the 70's...I knew I was gay. And I said to myself well at least I'm not black and a black lesbian. So I don't know how VR was treated really, but ask the black actors to speak out. VR just asks people to stop watching. She should be asking the other black actors and actresses to speak out as well. She doesn't. She asks the audience to stop watching, but if her experience and African American experiences on the show are so bad - ask them to speak out as well.

And this is why white people are not speaking out. If we speak out, we don't have the right because we're not black. If we don't speak out we're being griped at because we didn't speak out. I have been to 3 Black Lives Matter rallies this week. Check yourself. If you're white, everything is white privilege now. I grew up very poor. You would be wrong.

I was just such a fan of hers and over the years her griping has started to bother me. I don't remember KSJ or Shemar Moore or many black actors/actresses complaining about how they were treated on Y&R. Something just comes across as a trouble maker. Crystal Khalil (SP wrong I'm sure). Mishael Morgan. Whoever played Olivia. And linking your former working relationship to Black Lives Matter is just weird to me when she had such success. She was invited back for the KSJ memorial, and she's worked since Y&R. Why is she so against Y&R? Someone will say this is white privilege, and I am white, but a gay male. But I feel like VR could be the EP, Head Writer, Director, and own the show and she still wouldn't be happy.

I just read the VR article. Honestly I'm so tired of hearing her. It's old now and she just doesn't stop. If mouthy whiny complaining white women can be called "Karen" then she's a Karen.

Kinda related to the topic - just don't have characters have an accent and lose them. It's so stupid. They did it with the Yack/Jack story on Y&R with the Latina. Suddenly one day she had no Latina accent when it was so overdone before. On B&B there were Zoey and the guy who was supposedly an Avant cousin or something...and their excuse was a "game" of who could lose their British accent for longer. Just don't do accents on soaps. It's so stupid. The only ones I remember maintaining them was Uncle Stavros and Eleni on Guiding Light. So many others fail miserably. The Y&R one I mentioned was terrible...she literally had no accent one day.

My guide said 1993 so I was confused. I would love to see the David episode where the plastic surgeon carves up his face "killer" or something like that. Or an episode with Brad and his crazy former wife or girlfriend (don't remember which) - the one with the super long hair - Lisa Mansfield???

I had stopped watching around this time because I had started working after college and didn't tape. I think the other day's episode was 1993 also and I'm watching a little bit today and have no idea who some of these people are. The main ones I know, but some of the other people I have no idea.

Victor is nasty. Always kind of was. When I think about villains you kind of liked? Roger on Guiding Light. He had a nice friendship with Maureen. Victor is terrible and always has been and his accent has gotten so much worse over the years. It's like a cartoon. I know people love Eric Braeden but he needed to stand up for himself and not be a cartoon and and he couldn't do it.

That's too bad because it is KSJ and Drucilla...and I always thought John Abbott was so handsome. Classic scheming Jill, and I totally forgot about Brent Davis. Jill gets preg before John got the vasectomy.

Man this makes me sad at how good the show was compared to now. I'll take reruns all week long. Tuned in today just to see the classic episodes. I would love it if ratings went up on Fridays. I know people love Eric but it's shocking to me how much worse his accent is now than back then. His accent more pronounced as time progresses. His accent now on Y&R is more pronounced than it was on Rat Patrol.

Virginia just closed Schools for the rest of the current School year. Relaxed exam and testing requirements and there's no other way around it...

I'm already so tired of trying to remember not to touch my face. It's impossible. And it's mental...as soon as someone tells you not to do something...like in this instance I feel like my nose or ears or face in general is itching. And because of allergies my nose has been running for the last month as-is. I didn't go out all weekend...and now people are saying what we've been saying. The virus isn't just going to go away - 2 weeks off or closing until mid April....the virus will still be here. The DC metro area had the largest increase yesterday yet. And yes, it's because people weren't being tested so we knew more people had it because of lack of testing, but it's just now really beginning to spread. And the more people that get it and don't follow warnings the more it will spread. I can't even imagine if schools were open in this county. We have 16 large High Schools and countless middle schools and elementary schools.

On another unrelated message board - a pageant board (yes, I do pageant coaching)...someone had the nerve to say - well they've ridden Trump from the beginning and the media hates him and this is just another example. And all the deaths are elderly and people at risk just like the flu so..... I was like my GOD you people have NO Compassion or sense. I'm surprised he hasn't started calling it Obamavirus or that Hillary started it or the media started it. That's how SICK they are. It's just the elderly and people at risk just like the flu and the media is blowing everything out of proportion. Well, hope their families get it is all I can say. They're the same ones going and buying guns and 3 years worth of toilet paper.

I'm in Northern VA (Loudoun County). The Virginia HS League cancelled the remaining basketball championships and just named the 2 finalists in each division co-champions. They're saying even if they return to school (it's been extended to mid April) that all Spring sports will be cancelled.

That story kind of never sounded true. I don't know how you or an agent or coach isn't watching the updated list and I'm sure they're told that it's changed and to make sure you check for updates...or they must list the drugs that were added. And then the whole discussion about a protected ranking. They didn't give Monica jack when she came back. They let her in tournaments if I remember, but not ranked. I know he's had several strokes - has his health been so bad for several years and that's why you don't see him at tournaments? It's been years it seems like.

It was pretty clear that this had to be coming...it's been years since she's really been a threat....

Friends in my chat group said - you're Gay and so you should be as far Left as you can get...and we're disappointed in you. I said I don't think my gayness should make me as far Left as I can get. I just don't. I'm not Republican and have voted it - Republican - locally once in my life. I do listen to people. If I say something like I don't agree with Bernie or most of his policies - he's making promises he can't deliver - I'll still vote for him because of the SCOTUS...that makes me a bad Democrat? I feel like we are imploding and it's stupid. Oh Gosh - 20 years ago I met a group of people who I became friends with and it turned out they were Log Cabin Republicans. I stopped talking to Republicans then (I think). They're Gay Republicans. It's awful. They don't want you, they don't like you and at the time, they won't even accept your money because it's not as good as the straight Republicans. Then they would officially endorse the Republican candidate. To me, there's so much wrong with that. You hate yourself so much that you want to be accepted by someone you know has acknowledged they hate you? I don't know how to explain it but that's how I felt when I would interact with them. So I stopped. LOL. My best friend and roommate said - you can't reason with them, don't even try. We need to break off with them - they lived a different life and came from money and we didn't. They'll sell their souls for money and will never be authentic.

I'm DC and we're completely killing ourselves. Friends of mine got angry when I said if Berns is the nominee I'll hold my nose and vote for him just because of the Supreme Court. I'm gay but I'm not "Left" enough basically. I just said - I understand - the younger generation thinks they're going to get free college, and bank loans will be taken away - but it's never going to happen. I'm a Democrat, not a Socialist. They're almost as crazy as the far Right. I'll pay taxes for Social Security, and Healthcare and K-12 local schools but I"m not paying for someone else's higher education. I paid for my own. I figured it out. I'm not so far Left as to be Socialist. I had friends coming after me after I went after the Trumpers. They said I was no better than the 45ers because I just said I would hold my nose and vote for Bernie if I had to - but it's not who I want but I would do it because of the Supreme Court. They went rabid on me. Made me very sad because I wondered, are we really that crazy, the way Republicans say we are? I don't think so but why attack me for trying to talk about it and say I don't want Bernie. ALOT of the Bernie people are CRAZY.

You can tell she's got some pudge under there and she will probably do the Monica and play herself into shape. I was shocked with her groundstrokes - the Forehand is still there, you're right. And still some spraying around....the consistency will come and when it does she's not someone I want in my draw if I'm a player.

She really did and you can tell her fitness isn't there yet. Still to have 11 or 12 double faults and Mug had like 7 or 8 aces and still be in the match - I think this comeback will be successful.
