  1. I don't care about the women's final - who knows...but the men's - if Thiem makes it through, Nadal will make meat out of him. Straight sets but will figure out how to make it last 3.5 or 4 hours. Only Rafa can beat someone 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 and have it take 2 and a half hours. For whatever reason I think the women's final will be a snoozer also. And Joker right now - uh, you can't stop playing because it's windy. What is going on with the weather over there? Usually people are in danger of heat exhaustion and people in the crowd are wearing puffy full coats and stocking hats???
  2. I would say that Madison Keys is just like Davenport but Lindsey did eventually win 3 slams. I just don't think Madison ever will win even one. Too many of these younger players are coming along that are better and they'll take her out in the Quarters or semi's every time. And there are still better players her age or even older who will take her out. Lindsey at least eventually found the grit here and there, although her ticks (kicking the tennis ball around and you knew that she was done then)...she eventually found it. Madison never will.
  3. I agree - women's was so boring for years. What's that statistic...for 30 or 40 years the number 1 womens player was either Chrissie, Martina N., Tracy Austin briefly, Steffi, or Monica (and Martina Hingis)...and they always won most of the slams. And the finals and semis were between those particular women that played during their respective time periods. They used to say that the field was very shallow of who could win against any of these people. I remember Conchita Martinez winning a weird Wimbledon final (crazy)...Sanchez-Vicario I think the French that year. But really during all of those years, the women I listed won pretty much everything. Very predictable. The men over all of those years changed hands...#1's would lose to someone out of the top 20 or 30...very unpredictable and people said it made the men's game more interesting. Now it's the women who are more interesting... And - what a stat. No women's teens this far since Capriati nearly 30 years ago. That's what they said...is that true? And Michael Chang sure looks old. Now I feel old.
  4. Have you seen the commercial...I think it's for glasses (eyeglasses)? I don't remember....but it's clearly Maria Sharapova screetching...I think an owl is watching a tennis match but the screetching is Maria....sounds just like her. I wonder if she got paid for it.
  5. Who is this girl yelling like a man? Playing Sloan - god that’s ugly
  6. People are so non-confrontational when it comes to men and things like this. I played Open-Level Volleyball 6's...for around 15 years, and also doubles, but one of the 6's teams I was on...became friends with all of the guys and their girlfriends and wives. One of the couples, Beth and Steve (married) - she was always having "accidents" and had crazy explanations. One night one of the guys had a house party and I was hanging out with the wives and girlfriends (naturally the most popular with them because I was their token Gay). I pulled Beth aside and asked her - does he beat you? Physical abuse? These excuses are a little crazy at this point. She denied it. Beth and Steve lived about 2 miles up the highway in a different development than mine. About a month later, she showed up and mine and my roomates' townhouse around 6:00 AM - I had the basement to myself. My roommate knocked on my bedroom door, and he said, "Greg, Beth is here and needs to see you". I was like, what? It's 6:00 in the morning...he flips on the stairway light and there she is at the top of the stairs, and my roommate looked completely white as a sheet. Her face was so badly cut, she was bleeding, bruised. She came downstairs and I said...have another accident? She said, No. And I know you know what this is. I said, what did he do to you this time? He had beaten her and put her face through a window. Took her to the hospital, then to the courthouse to file a restraining order. She had walked to my house up the highway. She lived with me for about a week, and then she moved in with my roommates' girlfriends in our development. During that week she lived with me, I called our Team Captain and said - if Steve is at the tournament this weekend, just know I'm not playing. I'll quit. You all know what's going on, do not deny it. Went to the tournament, and Steve was there. I said, OK, well you're without a Setter today, and from now on if he remains on the Team. I was shocked - as I walked away, the guys are like...wait, what's going on? Where are you going? I said, I just quit. They're like...NO...you can't. You're our only setter - I said, yep...we've been doing a 5-1 so one of you better learn how to set....quick. Team Captain huddles them together - wives and girlfriends looking on and says "Beth and Steve had a disagreement and Greg didn't agree with it, so he's quitting". Steve stood their very proudly, nodding. and what's crazy - he was the worst of the 5 hitters on the team. Got my backpack and walked toward the exit...all of the remaining wives and girlfriends stopped me and they said...they had begged their husbands/boyfriends to stand behind me, because they all knew...I had told them. Beth went back to Steve after about 2 months and it started up again I was told. They ended up moving away a few years later, and I've wondered if she's still alive. And it didn't matter. I found a new team...got picked up very quickly because I was a good setter and although short for a Volleyball player, was an Open Level Player and I could also hit. I stayed friends with some of them, played with some on different teams in later years. Not that Team Captain though. Maybe that's why this bothers me so much.
  7. My God. He should be blackballed for good. He'll recover in time and be back???? I had not really been following this at all but have been reading...I didn't know 1/4 of this stuff.
  8. Not that it bothered me that much because I don't like Kyrgios...but what a rotten early opponent/match to run into. Has he fallen that far down to run into Raonic this early? I kind of only follow the slams and a couple of other major tournaments during the year.
  9. Such a destructive, evil man. I'm 48 years old and I'd tell him that I don't believe in him as President, because if I did, it would be...unhinged, not marginal.
  10. I went and got a MAGA hat. I put it on and MAN it makes me feel like Superman! My favorite super hero! Good lord what a circus...it just shows how mean 45 really is. To put this spectacle in the White House - and not only that but the OVAL OFFICE and not stop the nonsense when the nonsense started coming out of Kanye or YE or whatever his name today - it's just mean. And it's bad enough to do it but then just not do it privately and have all the media there? I've never seen anything like it. It's clear he's mentally ill, but then again, someone who is a narcissist and is mentally ill as well wouldn't notice that. He's just glad to get back into Reality TV and be connected with someone who people in the general public would think is 'popular'. I would say I'm shocked that the Kardashians didn't or don't step in, but I'm not shocked. They are all attention whores anyway they can get it. I would have thought that Kim's robbery, etc. would have brought her down to Earth, but that was short-lived.
  11. The younger set are not watching soaps no matter where they're aired. Online, on TV Cable Networks, or traditional networks. They're not watching. It's why the 25-54 or whatever demographic is the best for every soap these days. They're dying off, and the kids are playing Fortnight and aren't interested in any Television. People always talk about Cable destroying soaps and too many choices - gaming is also another reason of soaps being destroyed, especially now. Kids aren't watching soaps with their Moms, and Grandmothers the way we did in the Summer or after school. Their heads are buried in XBox, Playstation and their Tablets. That's the real end of us. I'm Gay but I see my sisters and my neices and nephews let their kids spend 20 hours a day on their phones and tablets and even at the Dinner table if there even is one. Their kids take their phones and tablets and headsets to the bathroom when they have to pee. It's not the same as when we grew up. Born in 70 here. The best video game I had was an Atari and I did that for like 1 hour a day...not enough to keep my interest.
  12. The camera work in the men's final was awful....they cut to the wives a couple of times and the serve and return happened while the camera was on them...they showed Anderson's shoes and the dirt a couple of times while the serve went off. It's like, OK he has blisters. It's not like you're showing his actual feet, it's just his damn dirty shoes. A couple of points from the side angle....like, LEAVE the camera from the back/end view and STAHHHHP it.
  13. The way Joker and Nadal are hitting - the men's final (I'll call it now) will be a snoozer. The other semi was a yawner. 2 tall guys serving the ball. Whoever wins this other semi will run Anderson around like a Golden Retriever and both are better returners. He might have gotten through Federer, but I think Joker or Nadal will hit him off the court. If the point starts, it will be over. I've said for years if it gets to 10-10 in the last set, you go to tie break. Each player will have served 4 more times, received 4 more times and you had the opportunity to do something. End it.
  14. Before Wimbledon started I said to someone when we were talking about the Serena ranking, what's fair, what will happen with her play, is she ready, etc. etc. I said, yeah I think we're going to look back when the end of the tournament comes and find it funny that we wondered if any of that stuff matters. In her semi today when Goerges broke and kinda did a little fist pump I said, "yep sweetie, good for you but you're about to lose this semi on your serve. Ya better start thinking about your serve." And buh bye.
  15. This Wimbledon has kind of been boring for me...the women's side hasn't really had any good matches to me. I hope the final is decent. The men's side, blah. I keep waiting for the typical "Isner fizzle". Looks like it's going to be Nadal's to lose now although I do think if Anderson plays well he can beat him.
  16. It's Kristina Mladenovic...her first name/nickname is Kiki.
  17. I love this.
  18. Isner is so pathetic. He might be a tennis player but he's a tennis player that doesn't play tennis. He serves and that's it. I keep saying to friends - if the point starts, it's over for him. He'd be better off treating both serves as a first serves and just go for aces on both because if he gets a return back at him, the point will be over for him.
  19. +1 I said to myself after the semis - well, it was a blood bath for the women, but I guess in the end, ya know what? #1 and #2 came through...
  20. These types of homophobic straight guys always crack me up. Like he was in such danger in a gay bar. Yeah, you stumbled into a gay bar where....no one noticed you because you were undoubtedly the ugliest guy and worst dressed in there. They think because they're straight every gay guy wants them. So silly and ignorant. Look in the mirror hun, you're not hot. You're safe as can be.
  21. His kokisaknockinus
  22. He believes in fake news. I'm so tired of these people. Actually I believe in the fake news that he'll actually be a player that lasts or does anything in the future. This will be a one shot deal, and the only way it isn't is if some of the other players stay injured.

Meghan McCain is horrible. A couple of weeks ago when someone brought up the fact that Donald's father basically died of Dementia, she said, "Oh, so you're a doctor now? My Dad has Cancer so that means I'm going to die of Cancer?" No honey, but if you showed the symptoms it wouldn't be a big jump to diagnose your symptoms. (My input as a poster). The other day when a broken family told their story - an "illegal" Dad had been deported but had paid taxes in this country for decades, and the family is now separated with 2 crying children....she wasn't sorry. She gave no words of solace, she made no comment and sat there with her stone cold cracked face. I want to like the McCain's...but I cannot with them. They play that political violin to perfection - she can go.
  24. I kind of have a completely different opinion about Ashley Wagner now. There is always going to be a passing of the guard, and she knows she competes in a judged competition. There's alot unfairness sometimes all the way around, and that's just how it goes. Not in any single interview did I see a reporter or host (in regard to her *itch fest about her scoring) - I didn't see a single person bring up the fact....hun, you didn't make the team the last time, and if they went by the scores you were left off. But that committee at that time voted to put you on there instead of Nagasu and that left her on the outside looking in. But I'm sure you loved that they voted you on instead, and alot of people thought that was unfair. I don't remember if she was sick and just didn't compete or if it was an injury, but they were betting you would be ready even though you didn't skate. So stop with the unfairness this time around.
  25. Like Ollie North. Who lied about something much bigger for the sake of the President's direction. Then they backtracked and Reagan's answer under questioning was "I do not recall". He had Alzheimers long before he actually got it. Ollie did the bidding of a President even though it was a lie. Some Doctor is now doing the bidding of a President who is White Fat Albert to lie about his weight.
