  1. I spend a lot of time around Rehoboth Beach and Milford, DE and he's a huge hometown success story and breaks the mold. He is so awesome. I don't like country music, growing up in very rural Virginia, my family were huge Country music fans and my Granny used to talk about spending time on weekend nights at the Carter fold where they played in a barn. I grew up listening and hating Country music but Jimmie is changing things. Love him.
  2. I never even knew there were different balls for different surfaces. I remember when Wimbledon used white balls and got rid of them because when the grass stained them they blended in with the court. Oh, and I meant to say my post above - the interview with Patty Smyth and John McEnroe was really interesting. They did "He said She Said" and asked them question and it was very surprising to me. They asked who was the bigger hot head. Patty pointed at herself and John pointed at her without looking over. She said he is not the person you saw on the Tennis court. Who cries during a sad movie? Patty pointed at herself and John pointed at her but Patty said, but he does cry on rare occasions during a movie. After a fight, who is most likely to initiate 'making up'. Patty pointed at John and he pointed to himself. He said I just don't like fighting and our relationship is more important than an argument. I was very surprised. He said we're empty nesters now and we're all we've got day to day.
  3. Patty Smyth and John McEnroe were on Today yesterday because she released a new album. At the end of their interview they briefly talked Tennis and John said he was picking Joker.
  4. Ohhhh thanks. I haven't watched it yet...and just read this part of the threads and thought I don't remember a popular actor "Alan"....
  5. Who is Alan that everyone is mentioning? I know everyone's names but I don't remember an actor "Alan"?
  6. And Osucka wins. I'm about as Japanese as she is. I'm so over her as a steeplechase horse jumps a wall I am just so over her. And they act like she's Black and Japanese. She can't speak Hatian or Japanese. Oh, she's just very very very shy. Oh whatever. She had to pick Japan or the US as her nationality and she picked Japan so she could get to the Olympics easier. And by the way - hasn't lived there in pretty much her entire life.
  7. I don’t like Medvedev. It’s like watching a dishrag play or watching paint dry on a dishrag
  8. Crazed fans like that have no bottom. A rule is a rule, and it was a careless thing to do. I had a girl punch me in the throat when I was in High School for no reason. I was friends with her. It took the air out of me and I had trouble breathing for a couple of hours, and it hurt for a week. It's not funny and when I saw it happen to the lines woman I could tell she was having the same reaction I did.
  9. I don't want to quote the Rock post because the pictures take up alot of space, but Chris Cuomo had it and has said it was the battle of his life. These are 2 FIT men. Chris said he had a 101 to 102 degree fever for 17 days, and appeared on TV via Internet and was sweating - hair wringing wet. People don't understand, this virus is a wildcard. These are 2 extrodinarily fit men who I am sure eat very well and healthier than I do. It's scary. And it's scary how people just discount it, don't wear masks, go to large events, go to their Trump rallies...
  10. Where is he finishing in this tournament? I don’t remember seeing him recently lollll
  11. I'm glad I have hand sanitizer. And soap for my shower. But I was using Tilex on my hands when this first started because it was the only thing I could find for awhile and I thought, while I'm doing the bathroom and the tub, why not just spray it on. Well let me tell you, it dries out your nails. I'm a guy. And let me tell you when you chip a nail down to the meat, it is a different pain. And I'm missing a big toe and half a left ankle from a lawn mower accident from when I was 5. Now they did say I went into shock. But Imma just gonna say - don't use Tilex on your hands. Ya ain going into shock and it's gonna hurt.
  12. You wait until 4 to drink? Good for you. I ain' doing that well. LOL.
  13. It doesn’t matter whether he meant to do it. Brad Gilbert is a chauvinist dick. If that had been Serena she would probably been fined 30,000$ and out of the next Slam and it would not have taken 15 minutes to discuss it. I kind of liked Joker and now I see he’s an ass so is Brad
  14. My hygiene has gone to hell. I work from home so it doesn't matter but I use my hand sanitizer, I don't go out, but I take like 2 or 3 showers a week and do one load of clothes a week, change my undies, brush my teeth every day and use the cottonelle wipes when I use the bathroom and sponge bath every day and use deodorant, etc. I don't work in the yard, have a landscaper and a maid but I feel dirty. I've just kind of given up. Called Teledoc that I have through my employer - won't give me anything for anxiety because they say it's a behavioral issue (WELL DO YOU THINK? WE'RE IN A DAMNED PANDEMIC), and other employees get Antibiotics over the phone. My doctor is cutting off my Blood Pressure medicine to make me come in for a Physical. He's cutting it off. Like Thanks so much - don't try to kill me or anything. I'm sure business is terrible for them, I get it, but I'm not going in to his office - it's in a Hospital and I'm NOT going IN. I order my groceries and I won't even go to get Gas - until it's down to the last drop and lucky I work from home because it's about 10 gallons to get me for 2 to 3 months. My recycling is a wreck because I don't even want to put it out and touch the bins after the people have touched them. I know this is too much information but I wonder if other people are dealing with the same or even similar. This whole thing has made me so sad. My community didn't open the pool this year and won't. My friends who have pools won't have anyone over...and I am the one who works from home. I would be the one in danger because they are essential and go to work but they won't have anyone over. I'm just so over this whole thing. @victoria foxton South Carolina is terrible. They didn't shut down correctly and they didn't re-open correctly. My sister has a house there and 2 months ago my family was there _ I didn't go - called them and they were put putt golfing, go-karting, at a water park, eating at restaurants, no face masks, shopping, business as usual. I don't think people know how bad it's about to get. Whether they get it or not, they'll spread it to other people. It's coming.
  15. Sorry to see Khachanov lose. He could shuck me until nothing was left but an empty husk.
  16. She said everything was a nightmare: then go back to France but I bet she lives in South Florida And I bet she’ll be at the French Open in 2 weeks flying from South Florida
  17. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.skysports.com/amp/tennis/news/32833/12062143/us-open-kristina-mladenovic-fumes-against-abominable-treatment-after-defeat Hunty what do yo want a Pandemic going on and you’re in NY??! I love that one of the male players said they bring us food, we have suites to watch and we have drivers...he said he loves it. Lack of crowds for every sport right now has personally made me less excited but - these comments from her made me dislike her a lot. What a terrible life you live when you go to a tennis tournament and go home with $75,000 between singles and doubles to lose and 8itch about the room service, drivers and suites. And say you’re a prisoner. Put her in an orange jumpsuit and put her in a real prison with a bologna sandwich and see what she thinks. What a total brat
  18. I'm sick to death of the Margaret Court defenders. She was a complete [!@#$%^&*]. I didn't even like Serena. I sure do now.
  19. Gosh I'm reading through these posts and I'm convinced...there are people that could do better than what we are seeing now. Far better.
  20. I lost everything but I had a storyline Bible I started in the 1980s when I was dealing with a lot in my life and I dreamed of a world where I lived with people who were like me and it was a way of escape. It took place in Greenwich Village in New York and most of the characters were Gay and Lesbian. I called it "The Story of Us". It dealt with what was obvious at the time - equal rights, the friendships and love stories among the characters, HIV/AIDS, and some of the characters were models, actors, writers for the NY Times, coffee shops and diners, bars etc. I remember one of my male characters was a school teacher who lost his job because the school administration found out after he was outed and a student accused him of sexual abuse, and it was a lie in an attempt to blackmail him to get him to change his grades. In the early 90's a lot of stories and scenes centered around a techno and disco dance bar, with drugs like Ex, drug addition, alcoholism, etc. And I had a group of characters who would take in homeless young gay men and lesbian girls who were excommunicated by their families and would search them out in homeless shelters. My big event of the year was the annual Valentines Day party where all of the characters from the different buildings would get together and the show would end with them all singing "What the World Needs Now". I wish I had saved it. And I was so disappointed because in the late 90's a movie came out called "The Story of Us" and it made me mad because I thought - that's MY TITLE!
  21. I loved when Lisa would call Lucinda "Lusty Lucy" lolll
  22. I'm a sports junkie and nothing is the same now. They're trying to go on with the NHL and Major League Baseball but with no fans/audience it's just hollow. Football will be the same for me. Tennis was the one thing I was looking forward to just because during points the fans pretty much have to stay quiet, and sure it's great to see crowd reaction after certain points is great, but for the most part during the points the camera stays on the players. So Tennis isn't as much the same as other large crowd sports. Disappointed that so many players are dropping out, but it's understandable. And really the ones that have to fly from overseas. I wouldn't fly right now. And if I'm a U.S. player or any of the ones that just live here, I'd drive to the US Open rather than fly.
  23. It's only a matter of time until we all get it. People are stopping with the distancing, the masks, all of it. And a vaccine is not going to cover all strains. It will be like the flu where you get the shot and it covers the first strain but you can still get another strain later in the year. If you don't get the shot right away it's already outdated when you get it. Very depressing. And that picture is depressing with Spain exploding with it. And what I don't understand is the anger - if you don't wear a mask and do distancing - stay away from me and they don't think about their families. They may not get it but they're taking it home to their families.
  24. @DramatistDreamer Canada is the country who should be building a wall.
  25. @victoria foxton Scary. My sister owns a house in Pawley's Island (south of Myrtle Beach, SC) - and they never shut down correctly and they didn't open up correctly. 2 of my sisters were there about a month ago with the nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews....when I called them I said "what is all of that NOISE?" She said - oh we're playing putt putt. They went to Go Karts, shopping, eating at restaurants, a water park...business as usual. Not wearing masks. We're about to have a complete resurgence - friends in Florida - their kids went back to school in person learning. They're scared to death - they said it's only a matter of time until they close it down. Just one kid needs to test positive and they're all going to have to be in quarantine. I asked her - about lunch and everything and she said nope - they go to the cafeteria as usual. And instead of leaving the kids where they are and having the teachers change classrooms, all the kids just change classrooms as usual. Wouldn't you think they would have the teachers change class rooms and limit the number of people running into each other? Meanwhile, someone I knew from High School (UNFRIEND) kept posting about how the whole "COVID thing" is a hoax and a lie and it's the Democrats doing all of this. TRUMPER. I said, my God - are the Democrats hauling all of these people off to an island and 165,000 in the US really aren't dead? He replied, well it's all the elderly and people who were unhealthy and it's no worse than the yearly flu. I said my God you've lost your mind. There are NOT this many deaths from flu in a year and this has been since December or January. And it's NOT just the "Elderly" and what difference does the age make? So if you're older and die it's no big deal? Meanwhile I don't think he knows he's 52. I just turned 50. It's like - honey - you are way past middle age.
