That reminds me that that disgusting Grady, G or whatever they called him was one of the worst characters ever on the show. They tried so hard to make him Jonathan 2.0 it just bombed so badly at a time when the show had hit its nadir in the summer of 2008. Phillip throwing him off a cliff with nobody caring and no one ever finding out was hilarious and satisfying especially since it was a well deserved death and punishment for such a despicable character.

So many things above I have to agree with…… I recall my main thing I think I personally overlooked a lot from 2004-07 was I just wanted GL to succeed and do decently so I know myself I did take a blind eye to some things, namely Jonathan & Tammy while I still couldn’t stand Manny fans. Of course by spring 2007 I realized how awful the show had become yet I still celebrated that Emmy win or when GL beat AMC & OLTL in ratings for a few weeks straight when I really shouldn’t have. Phillip’s last three years under Gold, Taggert, Weston, and Kriezman were all crap to begin with you just summarized it perfectly.

I usually have ignored the atrocious Season 8 since FC went streaming because I remember it being very bad on my SoapNet watch (yet I liked the infamous Season 9…) but I had wanted to watch Emma’s wedding to Daniel/RD Young because I couldn’t remember it. Just a couple observations of this dismal season: —Where Ben Argetti and Gabriel Ortega suppose to be a couple instead of friends? Only have to ask after seeing a scene where they excitedly showed off their new boots to each other lol. —I can easily see why SOD and the critics where so harsh as well the newest storyline of Richard vs. Angela was horribly stretched out. -Angela likes a woman named “Cookie” better than Pilar 🤣 -Emma’s marriage to Daniel/RD ended in a huge disaster which makes this all the more laughable. @Chris B What were your thoughts?

I’ve been fairly critical of this whole story, but at least today it finally provided some entertainment value with the scenes between CZ and MTS. Not a bad episode at all.

My bad I mean DK as in David Kriezman. Donna who would you have recast Ed with? Someone at the time suggested David Forsyth from AW as Ed; I would’ve tried to reach back out to either Robert Gentry at the least.

The pathetic thing is EW and DL were already struggling to get Simon back as Ed and went ahead to write an Ed story without Ed with the Sebastian story that was going south. It was foolish of them to do the same thing again just as it was foolish of them of letting JVD get away as well.

I remember Bogue from Oz as well and I did feel like Bogue’s first year on GL went well but then I don’t know, the energy just tapered off. I had fond memories of Derwin as Mallet, but then Derwin just kind of lost me on those back to back Bonnie Hunt sitcoms he did. But yes, Marina’s relationships with A-M and Mallet were a bit odd. I remember someone at WOST joking that Marina and Alan were next lol. Don’t make me laugh out loud a second time today 🤣

It was a hot mess. Out of all the ABC stars CBS nabbed up there 2003-04 he was pushed everywhere and failed. And LMAO yes that’s the one in your sig🤣 I also had an issue in a GL Facebook group as well a couple years back with a few people over a comment I made about Ehlers including one who sent me a rather indecent message over messenger lol I assumed they were the same person 🤣🤣

I swear someone, maybe Barbara Bloom herself, at CBS had a hard-on for Gaskill and tried so bad to make him stick as he was shoved down our throats on three different soaps in a 3 year time period. But yes I’m glad ME’s Dylan and Bridget were reunited in the end. PS you all be careful bashing Ehlers during these later years, the last time I did I had the whole pro-Ehlers troll brigade on my back 😅

Oh my, this is heartbreaking to hear over a holiday! I first remember Kamar and really liking him on a little TV show called Four Corners which was hyped up by CBS and I wanted to succeed but it unfortunately the show was DOA. RIP indeed and sympathies to Sherri, another daytime alum I’ve always admired.

Can’t remember if it was Jamey or Nelson Branco who wrote that lol. SOD had a much classier article on Bierdz back in 2004 when he returned as a ghost along with Rex in Katherine’s dream Ronan was a cop/FBI agent who smirked and looked smug all the time. There wasn’t much to go on and Branson was always coming and going for his who two years there between pilot seasons. I had enjoyed Branson on GL a lot but his time on Y&R was fairly lackluster, largely due to the bad writing and his pairings with Rigel’s Heather (a dreadful recast) and EH’s Chloe bombing at the time. I recall they tried to pair him with Stafford more than once and it was a hot mess.

Same although we did get spoiled with two 1993 episodes already I suppose. This time period in 2003 was actually fantastic to watch. I remember the Nikki/Sharon rivalry being at its height over the preparation of this gala made more fun by a maturing Cassie keeping Sharon in check (I think Cassie had just met her bio dad) while bringing a date with her to the gala. 🤣🤣🤣

The ridiculous retcons of the Katherine/Jill saga did not work at all and never should have been done as they were so destructive and asinine. Katherine and Jill as mother and daughter? NO. Cane as the real Phillip switched at birth? NO as any potential was squandered. Phillip III back from the dead…? Hell NO. By 2009 Billy & Mac should have been having their second child with Katherine and Jill arguing who gets to see the baby first while fussing over the first kid’s welfare. Instead in 2009 we got this, and this headline still makes me laugh out loud so bad 😂🤣

Same here! I think he lasted less than six months after that horrible pointless Zoe/Xander/Emma triangle went nowhere…well I think he was on a bit longer with the baby switch but he never got an exit. Weird they’d even bring him back lol.

Dru’s falling off a cliff was insulting, degrading, offensive, and vindictive. Skye’s death by falling into a volcano and the year long aftermath remains the worst story on Y&R ever.

This remains so laughable to me given how we’ve seen Audra on screen vs any Noah, especially RG’s Noah. And to be honest… Actually I’d be fine if it turned out Audra made that whole thing up. But for whatever reason, Noah seems so beneath Audra. Maybe if Theo was still around it would have been more plausible idk? In a perfect world ZS’ Audra would be our new Jill, CH’s Sally as our new Lauren, AL’s Summer as our new Ashley, and having MM on as Hilary/Amanda as our new Dru/Olivia should have rounded out Y&R’s next leading generation of divas yet instead the life has been sucked out of all of them.

LOL!! While Donovan’s time on Days was largely superfluous and insulting (largely because Hogan basically trashed the character and his father), I like Teddy’s coming out story at the time on 90210 as that was one bright spot. Then it collapsed. I literally just spat out my chamomile tea reading that last part 😅…thanks for the laugh Carl!

Lord I thought had permanently blocked that ultimately (especially in its final seasons) crummy 90210 show out of my head for good. I suppose next we’ll find out the equally washed up Trevor Donovan is back as Jeremy who is now gay and Leo’s latest love interest. 🙈

Thanks @Jeff! I had tried looking for B&B spoilers for the week but it appears they were made available much later than usual. And no I didn’t see B&B video promo at all I presume they’re trying to keep this story’s outcome under wraps.

1992 Days didn’t know what it wanted to be. There was a touch of realism with the sophomoric drama of Brian/Ginger/Tanner/Molly as bad as it was along with Kayla leading a strike at the hospital, but there was idiotic hijinks like Hawk/Jennifer/Jack, Kimberly’s DID storyline and leftover 80’s plots like John/Danielle and Shane trying to figure out who was poisoning ISA agents lol. The show obviously had no idea what to do after the Two Romans story concluded. As for Wings @Khan, haha I loved that sitcom watching as it aired as a teen/20 something but looking back I didn’t realize how bad and pointless it was when watching reruns…and now I hate using bombing after remembering one one the co-creators died during 9/11. Yikes…… But in the case of Days’ Wings it was the successor to Doug’s Place and run by the Corelli’s at some point. Some the Rafi Torres guy became obsessed with Julie and was in trouble with Roman and Bo blew it up with a bomb…and then Julie fell for her doctor Chip who saved her. Definitely was a fan of all the CBS soaps via my two grandmothers on both sides of the family and mother. Where my mother diverged at was also being a fan of AMC and Days. Days I feel was easy to get into and always felt like a P&G soap to me while AMC felt like a romcom to me. Didn’t help I probably sampled OLTL and GH at their worst and wrote them off for good in the early 90’s, but my mom semi-occasionally watched AW and was semi-familiar with that show as well.
