  1. Thanks for sharing! I dug around some old schedules and here’s what I found: This was for KMOX(now KMOV) St Louis, a CBS O&O dated 2/2/1981: 11:30 SFT 12:00 Y&R 1:00 ATWT 2:00 GL But then I came across this, here’s what the lineup looked like for both KCMO(now KCTV) in Kansas City dated 2/26/1980: 11AM: Y&R 12:30 SFT 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL So it’s entirely possible they started that 12ET/11CT feed at that time.
  2. Donnelly’s exit was indeed to tied to this feud, and MTS of course had some extremely intense contract negotiations in ‘01 that wasn’t resolved until the 11th hour that then show wrote Nikki out in Aug ‘01...to which Scott announced his resignation by year’s afterward. Given what we know about Scott now it makes seniors someone close was the provocateur in all this.
  3. I remember Tony & Megan were poised to become the next big thing on Y&R I’m not sure what happened there, did the Scott/Alden feud start that early?
  4. Thanks for digging that stuff up, I know those archives aren’t easy to navigate especially the pre 1994 stuff from old BBS boards that’s on there. I seriously wonder if any of those folks still watch the show at all.
  5. I would for someone to interview Purdee in this day and age! I wish someone would find Randy Brooks as well, I don’t know why for sure he left Y&R but he was horribly mistreated by the writers on AW. So of course when Olivia went to heaven in 2000 she met ALW Nathan instead.
  6. Thanks @DRW50 for sharing those late 94/early 95 eps I certainly enjoyed watching them! The Hal/Margo scene did feel off-putting to me and was strange...during these years I did actually enjoy the Hal & Dolan Margo’s friendship and close working partnership with the angsty undercurrent almost always coming from Tom. But Hal of this era was too blunt for his own good. Still Hal vs. Tom was enjoyable to watch, even if their arguments boiled down to Jeremy Wheeler being good or bad to be around Adam and taking cheap shots at each other. At the time I was annoyed by Julie’s kids but in retrospect they’re much more refreshing to watch now especially to see how talented Biggs(glad he had his time, no idea what he’s done lately) was in the role. I hated they got rid of Caleb & Julie to this day and later came up with some really crappy off-screen stories for the two when Aaron was on in the 00’s. Sheesh. Getting an old school movie star like Claire Bloom as Orlena was quite a coup for ATWT it’s a shame the show wasn’t able to keep her all the way to the end of Orlena’s reign. Re: Andy up in Mike & Rosanna’s business—this was a Marland era hangover from the cliche of Oakdale folks gossiping too much while out on the town lol. Would NEVER had happened in Genoa City. 😁
  7. Wonder if today’s planned ep will her posted online later?
  8. I know right. Haha do flame wars and board wars even exist in 2020 anymore? Just for the fun of it, [S.W.S.N.B.N.] !
  9. 🤣🤣😂 You don’t even want to know.
  10. Melissa Reeves? Not surprised, her and Scott can hightail it back to Nashville. I guess Scott will put Missy back in her panic room?
  11. Someone mentioned they may have also used the episode where Victor tore into Jack, Jill, and Keith for acquiring an unprofitable company for Nick to run without realizing just how deep in the hole the company was. That episode aired a month earlier in Feb 1997.
  12. I didn't realize they had set it with the Feb 80 timeslot change thanks @kalbir!! The 1980-81 lineup had proved disastrous except for GL, the 1981-82 schedule seemed to correct itself just fine had there not been a dispute over SFT. It makes sense as for Central Time stations they had already been airing Y&R at 11AM while a growing number of Eastern Time stations had already simply programmed Y&R into that 1PM Eastern Time slot to which CBS had never programmed before until Y&R expanded to a full hour.
  13. A lot of ABC stations of course desired a noon news cast, and for some reason ABC only offered a 1PM ET/12PM CT feed for AMC, thus when the stations decided to air AMC at 11AM CT they had to air it a day behind, similar to how stations who aired GL in the mid-morning were a day behind until CBS offered up an actual 10AM feed in 2004. If I recall right ABC followed suit at some point after that for AMC. Contrast this to Y&R to which when they moved to 12:30PM ET/11:30 AMCT in June 1981 CBS also offered up a 12PM ET/11AM CT feed to which most CT CBS stations took advantage of, hence the Central Time Zone(as well as any MT stations that air Y&R at 10AM) sees Y&R live thirty minutes ahead of Eastern Time Zone. Other than WJMN in Marquette Michigan, I don't know if any other CBS stations on ET have ever run Y&R at 12PM since CBS began offering that feed in 1981.
  14. I use to have a link to an old French website that contained various English recaps of early to mid 90s episodes, I wonder if that website is still active as well. I'm shared a lot recaps I pulled off from there that are now buried in our Y&R Old Articles thread, might be time to see if I can dig it up again.
  15. Well, I haven't talked about Albuquerque's off beat schedules over the years. When I first moved there in June 1997 the Daytime schedules looked like looked like this: KOB: 10AM Leeza 11AM Days 12PM AW 1PM Beach KOAT: 11AM: AMC 1PM: OLTL 2PM: GH *Both the View and PC aired overnight. The station always carried PC for its entirety at a 1:05 AM timeslot as it ran a full hour news at noon. KRQE: 9AM: TPIR 10AM: ATWT 1:30PM B&B 2PM: GL 3PM: Y&R Then in September KRQE's schedule became this: 10AM ATWT 11AM TPIR 12:30 B&B 1PM: Y&R 2PM: GL By September 1999, KOAT finally aired The View at 10AM, while KOB pushed Beach off to an overnight slot for its last three months and debuted a noon newscast, so then it was: 11AM: Days 1PM: Passions By September 2000, it became: 1PM: Days 2PM: Passions(until cancellation) In September 2007 KOAT bizarrely cancelled their noon newshour newscast quite abruptly, so their schedule then became: 12PM AMC 1PM OLTL 2PM GH Finally in September 2009 two months before I moved out of Albuquerque, after GL ended KRQE's schedule was: 10AM LMAD 11AM TPIR 12:30 B&B 1PM Y&R 2PM ATWT
  16. Odd theme week, considering what happened in 2002 pretty much wrecked the couple badly for a long time. I wonder if we can also get a Christmas in July theme week lol? Wouldn’t mind seeing the 87 and 88 Xmas eps again since they have been currently unavailable on YT for years now ever since Sony purged them like 9 years ago. I do think both were competent actors but just were wrong for the parts, even if the writing did get shoddy. Tylo had his heyday on GL a decade beforehand; I was never much impressed by dullsome Mitch on Dallas either but that wasn’t all McCloskey’s fault either. His best soap work was probably Santa Barbara although the story absolutely repulsive, something I think McCloskey has stated as well he was disturbed by. Btw @ChickenNuggetz92 Hadn’t seen that yet but of course all those commenters look like they are probably Karens. 🙃
  17. Some stations out west (KUSA & later KMGH Denver, KVIA ABC, KIVI Boise) would flip flop GH and OLTL and I know many CT stations would air AMC a day behind but other than there was nothing quite as dramatic as some of the schedules of CBS stations in the Mountain Time Zone.
  18. Pretty much. I believe in the cases of Blade & Kurt the show should have cast someone sexy with charisma. An actor along the lines of something like a Peter Reckell, Charles Grant, Greg Beecroft etc. Neither Tylo or McCloskey were either of those things and they just came off as bland.
  19. Braeden won for his scenes with Adam/Victor Jr. VR probably should have won for this ep too. Looking back it’s just criminal that neither VR and TLW ever won for their powerful work in the 90’s by the Emmys.
  20. Ashley’s 90’s mystery men she got involved with were always so worthless. It didn’t help the character was so poorly miscast at this point in time as well. I was happy to see Hope come back at this point too but was disappointed by the triangle she got put into with Kurt & Ashley. I think Coleman was trying break into prime time for a brief minute there too I remember her doing a couple of X-Files eps and then Chicago Hope before her GL run. Nick Scotti 🥰
  21. I know this topic has been done before but thought it would be interesting to see people share items of interest that is on their bookshelves. In addition to the Waggett and Schemering books these are a few notable highlights on mine: Days of Our Lives: The Complete Family Album: a 30th Anniversary Celebration by Lorraine Zenka(1995) The Young and the Restless, Special Silver Anniversary Collector's Edition by Barbara Irwin and Mary Cassata(1998) Y&R Most Memorable Moments by Irwin and Cassata (1996) From Mary Noble to Mary Hartman : The Complete Soap Opera Book by Madeline Edmondson and David Rounds (1977) Serial Monogramy by Christine Scodari (2004) The Q Guide to Soap Operas by Daniel Coleridge (2006). Please forgive me on this on! 😅
  22. Hopefully a Best of Jill week! As for the show resuming production we definitely need a soft reset in the writing department.
  23. How old is Brown anyways? I know he's been doing breakdowns for Y&R recently and was in The Story of Soaps special last month but I had to wonder as I knew Estensten was well into her 70's when she passed several years ago.
  24. LOL!!! Problem of it is I don’t think 911 fully became accessible everywhere until the late 80’s. Interesting Beth was 26 she looked the young college girl part so well. McGuire was gorgeous and golden as Cora. Cora and Gina vs. Lauren were definitely the highlights of the show.
  25. Is it possible that Phillips’ The Road Ahead was a possible working title for adapting The Road of Life from radio, which CBS did eventually a year later? Interestingly The Brighter Day premiered first in January 1954.
