I don’t get Karamo’s show. It’s an odd throwback to those Donahue/Sally Jessy-type shows of the ‘80s/‘90s and it almost feels quaint.

It’s such an idiotic thing to say. “Google says…” He seems so edgy now that he doesn’t have his own show anymore.

At least there’s finally SOMETHING exciting about this surprisingly mundane 50th anniversary year. Will be great to see Veronica Redd, Barbara Crampton, and Patty Weaver again.

Melissa Claire Egan seems like a lock for Chelsea’s suicidal scenes on Y&R (and probably Jason Thompson getting another nod). Can’t say it wouldn’t be deserving looking at those scenes alone, even though the story hasn’t really lived up to its promise. Nicholas Chavez (Spencer, GH) will probably repeat, as he’s had a lot of good work in the past year.

It’s so weird to see having grown up on erotic thrillers Iike you mentioned and Skinemax and more salacious, objectifying stuff Porky’s and Trading Places. I get not wanting to watch sex scenes with your parents but there’s an odd puritanical streak that’s running through the culture right now. I see all these tweets with people saying “Unpopular opinion: I hate sex in movies,” as if they’re saying something novel. A tweet was trending last night about bringing back the Hays Code. People were objecting to that but mostly on the grounds of how it limited portrayals of non-straight cis white people.

The discussion keeps on coming up on Twitter with people saying they hate seeing sex scenes in movies and TV. This thread was a response to that:

Agreed. Adding Devon is a nice touch. I probably would have added Lorie simply because she was such a huge character in the show’s history but I understand the reasoning behind not including her. Michael is a character I wouldn’t have necessarily thought to include, but they built an entire family around him who dominated story for a good decade (for better or for worse).
