  1. Somehow, I doubt Tyler Perry is going to kill off someone who is CLEARLY the strongest character of this bunch. Now, he might have her get raped, get pregnant AND get AIDS, and then find Jesus, but kill her off?
  2. For a minute, I thought this was Marla Gibbs.
  3. Something was happening. P&G had passed down a mandate to then-HW's Pam Long and Jeff Ryder to de-emphasize Quint and Nola (and most of Doug Marland's characters) on the show.
  4. If Lisa Brown had to return to GUIDING LIGHT without Michael Tylo, then I would have been fine with Quint being killed, off-screen, in some sort of archaeological expedition. Then, if Tylo were to return down the road, you could reverse it quite easily, say he wasn't REALLY dead, and create a good mystery out of it. And if not...? That's fine, too. Nola could grieve a little, and then find love again (preferably with John Wesley Shipp's Kelly Nelson, if he had been willing to return). Either way, I loved Quint and Nola, but I never considered them "sacred" or anything. I'll buy whichever story you write for me, so long as it's told from character, and you take all the necessary steps to get me where you want me to go.
  5. It sounds like something I've heard before as well. At the very least, it's plausible that GL would have wanted her for Annie.
  6. One word: Wallingford. No way would that adorable man have belonged on GUIDING LIGHT, AS THE WORLD TURNS, or SEARCH FOR TOMORROW. (Yes, Brent Collins, who portrayed Wallingford, also played Mr. Big on WT. But think about it: on WT, his was the role of eccentric super-villain in an action-adventure tale that, despite its many charms, made about as much sense being on there as cloning and time-travel did on GL. On AW, though, Wallingford was a key member of the "family" that also included Cass, Cecile, and Felicia. He was diminutive, but he also was beloved and treated as part of Bay City society. And therein lies my point.)
  7. I'm glad you shared that information. I've been trying to find any information on Paul Roberts, but all I could uncover was that he worked on ONE LIFE TO LIVE with Agnes Nixon and Don Wallace. Does anyone know anything at all about K.C. Collier or John Saffron? Both worked as HW's on ATWT during the early '80s.
  8. That seems like a real, honest-to-God love triangle. I feel like I would have been satisfied with whichever outcome (Adam with Nicole, or Adam with Brandy) had I been watching.
  9. This must have been when Lisa was still teaching the children of Walnut Grove in that one-room school house.
  10. Has the guy ever heard of eHarmony.com?
  11. I would agree, Carl. I'm not sure whether I liked or even understood Barbara's relationship with Henry. To me, it might have made more sense to have her hook up with Casey. (I know it would have been an excellent way to continue the Barbara/Margo feud, lol.) All things considered, though, I felt as if ATWT's writers had acknowledged toward the end how far they had gone with "Mad Babs," and thus were taking steps toward rectifying that situation without dismissing that period as the result of a brain tumor or (ahem) microchip.
  12. It hurts me to no end how Hogan Sheffer and his minions destroyed Barbara Ryan.
  13. He probably figured he might as well own it.
  14. FALCON CREST fans just discovered a (new) reason to hate that guy.
  15. It's like that one scene in "Being John Malkovich," 'cept everyone is saying, "Oprah!".
  16. Well, I'm sure anyone else would have made the same mistake. RME.
  17. Same. ANOTHER WORLD was getting good again toward the end. Not perfect, mind you, but the most watchable (for me) that it had been in awhile.
  18. IIRC, didn't she shoot Gillian because she thought Gillian looked like Alex from behind?
  19. Joyce: Are you alright? Nancy: Well, yes, of course. Are you? LOL! Tell me: was Joyce the first character to return from the dead on AS THE WORLD TURNS?
  20. She did. Once for Best Supporting Actress, the other time for Best Actress.
  21. I love Bruce Barry as a director and will defend him and his work until we both are in the grave. Nevertheless, even I was left scratching my head when JD said he told him to give "10 percent less," or words to that effect.
  22. I've tried, but I just can't hate on Justin Deas. (Buzz Cooper? Yes. JD? No.) He is fantastic. He just needed a strong director at GUIDING LIGHT to rein him in.
  23. Wasn't there also a period when Harding Lemay served as story consultant?
  24. Oh, God. Don't we accuse Ron Carlivati all the time of doing things like this on GH?
