  1. It's almost like watching an old episode of Y&R, isn't it?
  2. Oh, yeah, lol!
  3. I'll probably get into some trouble for saying this, but speaking as someone who (unfortunately) toiled for a season at Gorsuch's alma mater, Columbia University, it REALLY doesn't surprise me to see him grandstanding. Students at Columbia have a tendency to grandstand.
  4. Suppose the homophobes are correct and homosexuality is a psychological disease like, say, bipolar disorder. If that were true, then wouldn't it be more prudent to treat the disease (which practitioners of that abominable "conversion therapy" say they are doing) than to execute or even incarcerate those afflicted? You wouldn't put to death or lock up someone who was bipolar JUST for being bipolar, would you? Even if their disorder led to their committing criminal acts, you might confine them for a period of time at facility, but you'd also seek treatment for them (drugs, therapy, a combination of the two). You might even declare them "not guilty due to diminished guilty or defect" and then rehabilitate them. So why, then, are gays and bisexuals criminalized and stigmatized for behavior that, by the homophobes' own implications, they couldn't help? Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud.
  5. Oh, I'm sure we worked out some sort of backroom deal with the Saudi Arabians. Something like...we vote the same as they do, and in turn, Trump gets to build another gaudy, phallic shrine to himself overseas.
  6. SMDH. Again: SMMFH. Don't you know? It's because, in THIS country, we regard homosexuals as being no better than pedophiles. Lock up your children, America! Before The Gays snatch 'em and brainwash 'em with their godlessness and their man-on-man sex!
  7. So much for hating the sin and not the sinner.
  8. It didn't take a psychic to tell her THAT was on the horizon.
  9. As Tim McGraw would say...
  10. Granted, I don't watch any non-US soaps, but I can't believe they're THAT bad, or that DAYS is THAT good, lol.
  11. I don't think so. I think one of his last stories for ATWT, which was Royce Keller's ordeal with DID, comes closer to being that attempt. IIRC, Marland's original projections for the Carrie story called for Carrie to kill Jackie Marler while under the influence of one of her alters, which was pretty similar to how Royce's alter, Roger, would murder Royce and Lucinda's half-sister, Neal Alcott, years later on WT. But I DO think that because ABC forced Marland to wrap up the Lily Slater story earlier than he had wanted, Marland took the opportunity with WT's Angel Snyder and her abusive father, Henry, to tell THAT story (meaning, of course, incest) the way he had planned to on LOVING.
  12. I guess that's what Mama Khan meant when she said, "Sometimes, you get the leader you deserve." So many of us complained so much and for so long about Obama. Maybe God had to allow Trump to happen to show how good we REALLY had it. Again, though, it's just so unfortunate that too many others have to suffer in order for the knuckleheads to get the message. Paul Ryan: "Trump's heart is in the right place on race" Sophia Petrillo: "Your heart's in the right place...but I don't know where the hell your brain is!"
  13. One of my favorite jokes: "I wonder if Dionne's psychic friend warned her that her career would crash and burn if she were to endorse these frauds?"
  14. IA with BOTH of these statements. Yes, Dubya's administration's response to the damage inflicted upon New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina was slow and embarrassing. No one should ever let him or his cronies off the hook for not understanding the damage's extent. However, I believe that when he WAS made aware of the situation -- which is to say, when his inner circle chose to let him in on what was going on -- he did what he could to alleviate the problem; and he did so because the rest of America, and the rest of the world, was looking to him to lead. AFAIK, he didn't accuse the people of New Orleans of being lazy m.f.'s who were looking for handouts; and he didn't use the crisis to, uh, trump his own meager accomplishments (although I do remember at least one pundit on TV hilariously trying to connect Katrina with 9/11 and bin Laden). If anything, I think Barbara Bush (the mother, not the daughter) was being the thoughtless and racially divisive one in '05. I can't recall EXACTLY what she said about Katrina refugees -- something about how camping out at the Superdome must've been like paradise compared to their living conditions before the hurricane struck? -- but I remember thinking that, at best, her words displayed a tone-deaf attitude toward the lower classes and toward natural disaster victims. IMO, Barbara's remarks were as embarrassing as her son's lack of awareness of Katrina's damage as Air Force One flew over New Orleans, if not more so. Of course, thanks to Trump, even her words probably don't seem as callous in retrospect. Meanwhile, where's Melania in all this? Don't tell me the First Lady is still handing out library books, because I've worked at a public library and lemme tell you, it don't take that long. Say what you want about Michelle Obama -- call her a gorilla, accuse her of being a tranny and a Target ho -- but if this [!@#$%^&*] were happening under Barack's watch, Michelle would have her ass down there in Puerto Rico, driving those kids to school and packing them healthy lunches, too. She wouldn't be back here, sending school librarians bunches of Dr. Seuss books they have already.
  15. I'm sorry the march has deteriorated into violence, but I'm glad to know so many came out to protest against the Nazis. This morning, Mama Khan talked about how, in the Bible, the Israelites cried out to God for a king, so God delivered them Saul. Her point? Sometimes, you get the leaders you deserve.
  16. I'm glad to see Price gone as well.
  17. Which is why I believe the next non-Caucasian president -- and yes, there WILL be another non-Caucasian president someday -- will be as exalted (even more than Obama) as Washington, Lincoln and Kennedy. Remember, Martin Luther King, Jr. didn't live long enough to see us reach the "promised land" that was the passage of the Civil Rights acts, but he DID get us most of the way. That's how I've always felt about Obama.
  18. My best guess? Sudan kissed his ring and asked, "Have you been working out lately?".
  19. Michelle Obama: "Women who voted for Trump voted against their own voice." Of course, many of those women who voted for Trump might say they didn't want to vote for Hillary JUST because she was a woman. But seriously, if you knew Trump was a bastard, and you knew you couldn't vote for Hillary, then why not just vote third-party or stay home? Fortunately, Michelle Obama's remarks don't apply to WOC. They set aside their reservations and showed up for Hillary, because they saw Trump and his line of bull coming from miles away.
  20. As I wrote on my FB page, "Jared Kushner is not among my favorite people, but could we PLEASE lay off judging his coming out as female? How an individual views him- or herself gender-wise is no one's business but theirs. Thank you."
  21. I understand how you feel. As I said to Mama Khan several days ago, it'll take a generation or more to undo the messes that that man and his administration have caused this country.
  22. As I see it, Alabama voters proved last night that the Trump brand isn't always a winning brand; and if it's true that Steve Bannon, who has openly criticized the Trump administration for allowing itself to be compromised by the establishment, has declared war on the GOP, then he's off to a roaring start. Can't say that I blame him, lol. I mean, Trump openly courted police officers to treat all suspects in custody like thugs, as if it were WWII-era Italy and he was Mussolini. Explain to me how that's NOT having little respect for the laws.
  23. As it is written: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7) IOW, the GOP sowed crazy because they didn't care for the HNIC, and now, they're experiencing a bumper crop, as seen last night with Roy Moore's victory in a Republican runoff which, frankly, was about as unappetizing as those things can get. So they've only themselves to blame.
  24. Let's be honest: Tiffany's out-of-wedlock conception, and not anything else, was the reason why The Donald married The Marla after their ridiculous, headline-grabbing affair that alternately disgusted and exhausted both the people of New York and the rest of the country. Poor Tiff is a living, breathing embodiment of ANOTHER time in Trump's life when he felt the media was being unfair toward him. Ergo, it doesn't surprise me how the rest of the family, and even Donald himself, tends to shut her and Marla out.
  25. In a way, it surprised me to hear how Jerry Jones joined in, let alone sanctioned, the protest. If ever there was a quintessential Trumper, I think he would be it.
