  1. I've just watched the scenes on YT. Marland might have realized at that point how the stories were dragging, so he killed her off in order to get something going. The Kyle/Maggie story is why I wish TPTB had kept Dr. Dan Allison around as a John Dixon-type figure, rather than kill him off. Imagine how much richer the story might have been, had Maggie grown closer to Dan, who would show a rare, tender side to his personality, as he helped Maggie cope with her and Matt's problems. Why must Carolee's flashbacks be so damn long? Did Marland watch TD when the Pollocks were writing -- and flashbacks practically took up entire episodes -- and figured that was the way to go?
  2. If that tweet isn't proof that Trump is a narcissist, who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder, then I don't know what is. Also, "News" and "Media" is kind of the same thing. I don't feel Beto is ready for the WH either. Even Obama did a stretch in the Senate before running for commander-in-chief. Besides, I'm still uncomfortable with the idea of another white guy saving us from ourselves, even though the Trump administration and its' disastrous effect on our country probably guarantees I won't see another Obama as president in my lifetime.
  3. Agree. Like I said, or rather suggested, the minute Congress gives in on the wall, Trump will bitch about the next bright, shiny object that's outside his reach. (In fact, once he has the wall, he probably won't give a second thought about it. Again, just like my brother.) He'll never be satisfied. If my folks had stood firm just once with my brother like Congress is doing right now, then maybe my brother wouldn't have made so many shockingly stupid mistakes, thereby sparing us more than a few sleepless nights in the Khan household.
  4. Trump is my older brother, and the Senate and House are my parents. He ain't gonna shut up until they give him what he wants. ("Well," I would always say, "that should keep [my brother] quiet for the next minute." Trust me, it wouldn't be any different with Trump should Congress finally give in.)
  5. No wonder Trump and Putin belong to a mutual admiration society: neither man thinks much of African-American voters.
  6. I imagine a scenario where Trump is carted off to a sanitarium after he fires everyone including the cleaning lady.
  7. Me neither. To him, "compromise" means "you give me what I want, and maybe I'll think about giving you some of what you want." I just hope they don't add insult to injury by offering those gov't. employees who won't get paid for the holidays memberships to the Jelly of the Month Club.
  8. Dr. Phil? I'm kidding.
  9. Well, it's happened. A reboot...of a reboot. This is where the universe implodes, right?
  10. With all these sudden, jaw-dropping developments, you'd think it was a Friday (or an episode of KNOTS LANDING).
  11. Not a day goes by that I don't think about Trump and Megan Mullally's performance at that Emmys ceremony or the effect it had on Americans. Seriously.
  12. Perhaps, if these creeps were to face actual jail time, rather than a proverbial slap on the wrist, a minor hit to their bank accounts, or even the loss of their jobs altogether? Well, it's just a thought.
  13. God bless Eliza Dushku. Writing that article was ten times more courageous than anything she did as Faith. She has earned my respect forever. Give it time. Again, give it time.
  14. Agree. Democrats have reclaimed the House, but they won't get any farther than that with such pettiness. I echo Roman's thank you.
  15. Amen -- and I say that as a HUGE fan of Doug Marland's, too.
  16. Agree.
  17. Ironically, there was a period in this country when the Irish were despised about as much as Latinos and Hispanics are right now.
  18. It was AMC. She didn't go into great detail, but she said she was unhappy with the direction AMC had been taking.
  19. Gee, I wonder what this all means for Michael Weatherly and for "Bull."
  20. Trump has truly brought us back to the 1980's. It always comes down to two things: sex, and money; and either together or separately, both have toppled great (and not-so-great) leaders since the beginning. Yep.
  21. Equally laughable, though, was integrating Richard and Edmund into Springfield society. India von Halkein's presence always stretched credibility, yet Mary Kay Adams was such an asset to the show that you could overlook a baron's daughter taking up residence in the Midwest. Could you really say the same for Bradley Cole or David Andrew Macdonald? The "blonde people" weren't the only things tacky and poorly lit. GL really showed how far Paul Rauch's production aesthetic had declined since his days producing AW. Even his peak years at OLTL weren't marred by such godawful production values. To think, though, Hogan Sheffer chose to write for ATWT over GL because, in his opinion, ATWT seemed to be the more realistic show (or something like that).
  22. I hope the UK gives revoking their withdrawal from the EU serious thought. #Brexit has become such a colossal mess, leaving me to wonder why they bothered in the first place. Or to D.B. Cooper's love child, Stephen Miller.
  23. With all due respect, Toxic, let it go.
