  1. In a way, it makes sense for her to be there, since that's the kind of role and show that's right in her wheelhouse.
  2. ICAM. For me, it isn't enough that he was fired (after five, long-ass years). Eric Garner's family deserves more.
  3. Two breaking developments: 1. Planned Parenthood withdraws from Title X funding: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/19/health/planned-parenthood-title-x.html?action=click&module=Top Stories&pgtype=Homepage 2. NYPD fires the officer in the Eric Garner case: https://beta.washingtonpost.com/national-security/nypd-fires-officer-in-eric-garner-case/2019/08/19/2d0ead96-c296-11e9-b72f-b31dfaa77212_story.html
  4. If only Drew would have followed in her aunt's footsteps and stayed away.
  5. Well, the stock market must be doing REALLY bad this week, if Trump has to distract us all with the news that he wants to purchase Greenland. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/16/world/europe/trump-greenland.html?action=click&module=News&pgtype=Homepage
  6. I just find it sad how Trump has reduced politics to a dick measuring contest.
  7. I am not here for that. I will never be here for that.
  8. Quite a lot. But most of what I like was made before my time, when creative people actually set out not to suck. Not surprised. As soon as people figured out what the show really was, they were bound to stay away. True. Harsh, but true.
  9. That's why it both tickles and frustrates me whenever (white) people talk about racism in this country like it's something brand new. Where have you BEEN, White America!?
  10. Yeah, good luck with your lawsuit, ladies. I support you and believe every word you say, but...good luck.
  11. Well, that's why Walmart is removing some video games from its' shelves, right? (I'm kidding.)
  12. DUMB QUESTION ALERT: How will the CBS/Viacom "re-merger" affect the quality of CBS' current programming? Under Moonves' watch, CBS began steering itself toward programs that were heavily procedural, with a pro-male/pro-conservative bent. Do y'all think this move will change that any?
  13. On the one hand, I agree with you that Cuomo was (and is) being hypocritical, since he, too, has used the name in the past. But, OTOH, I don't believe for one second that the other guy never intended to come across as anything other than racist when he called CC "Fredo." He knows who Cuomo is, and he knows "Fredo" is not his name. Any explanations to the contrary are just flat-out lies.
  14. IA. But this crew wants it both ways. They want to revisit/cash in on past glories without having to portray once again the characters that put them in the public eye. So, what do we end up with? This crap. It truly feels like an over-extended Funny or Die sketch.
  15. I've no idea where else to post this -- and I certainly don't think it deserves a thread of its own either: https://www.tmz.com/2019/08/12/chris-cuomo-threatens-man-who-hurled-italian-slur-fredo-at-him/
  16. Was that before or after she graduated? At the risk of sounding like Vee: is there anything you DON'T love, John and Toups? It's like what Thelma Harper said: "I could boil gym socks in this kitchen, and everybody would want a taste!"
  17. I just go back to what @marceline said once in this thread: the Republicans always wreck the economy. Always.
  18. Which is ironic, since the vast majority of them either are too cheap or too broke to buy anything other than the off-brand kind of tinfoil that tears easily.
  19. Jeffrey Epstein is dead, and wouldn't you know? "#ClintonBodyCount" is trending AGAIN on Twitter.
  20. Ana Alicia would be a fantastic addition to just about any primetime drama.
  21. ICYMI: https://www.npr.org/2019/08/07/749243985/mississippi-immigration-raids-net-hundreds-of-workers https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/08/us/iraq-jimmy-aldaoud-deport.html?action=click&module=News&pgtype=Homepage
  22. "Where did Maggie go?" If she's smart, she went offline.
  23. That might've been doable. Acting-wise, Lindsay Frost was more accomplished than Meg Ryan. Nevertheless, I'd be lying if I said Frost didn't leave me feeling cold emotionally whenever I watched her (on ATWT, as well as on other shows). Which is ironic, since MR -- who, IMO, should've stayed on soaps -- couldn't leave ATWT behind fast enough.
  24. Sigh. Here's good ol', reliably racist Fox News, at it again: https://www.vox.com/2019/8/6/20756711/fox-friends-invasion-el-paso-shooting-trump-live-tweets
  25. And that wasn't even acting on their parts! I think Marland was right to see Steve and Betsy as a limited couple (his words, not mine) but not allowing them to leave town together? Their fans deserved a happier ending.
