  1. Poor Tom Degnan. Not only did he not get anything meaningful to do on OLTL, but when he was on ATWT, he was saddled with one of the most ruined characters (Adam Munson) in that show's history. If I were him, I would never accept another job in daytime.
  2. Imagine the uproar that could result from Spicer's winning the trophy. (Not that I'm saying he will. I think he won't make it through the entire season). Bobby Bones' victory was a controversy; Spicer's victory, by comparison, would be a crisis.
  3. Honestly, aside from Breck Jamison's running in motion, that dream sequence wasn't that awful. And even the running in motion could have been avoided if they had instead intercut his running on the beach with Frannie facing off against the thugs.
  4. God bless Sheri Anderson. She really believed introducing Johnny, Lacey, Jack & Lainie Bauer and Chelsea Reardon would help restore two of GL's core families.
  5. Agree.
  6. DEVELOPING: After a reassuring speech this morning from Fed chairman Powell, stocks rose. President Trump responded with a flood of tweets, and stocks tanked. Our president is literally killing the economy. Where the hell are GL's Michael Burke and his damn Clone Rapid Aging Serum when you really need them?
  7. Hm. Okay. Thanks for telling us, @DramatistDreamer
  8. The "sex addict" and the devout Mormon. A marriage made in Jerry Springer Heaven.
  9. By all accounts, he quit. He wasn't interested in working as an actor anymore and has since moved onto a career (running some sort of organic company?) outside the industry.
  10. IDK about the nudity, but I do know, or at least suspect, that GA's bullying toward JE is what killed Phillip and Beth's romance -- with the upside being that she was then paired w/ Vincent Irizarry's Lujack. (She did leave GL, later, but John Bolger was Phillip by then.). But, on the plus side, it appears as if all that is now water the bridge, as JE or VI recently posted a photo online that had all three -- JE, VI and GA -- on the DAYS set. I thought we weren't ever going to talk again about Robyn Griggs' ties to John Wayne Bobbitt.
  11. You have to remember, though, that Jake/Marley/Vicky had been very popular at AW. So, too, were Jake and Molly at ATWT, which is why having them simply break up and Jake leave Oakdale for good wasn't an option. OTOH, by killing him off, TPTB likely believed there would be no way for Jake/TE to return. Obviously, she didn't like it. Which is why Vanessa spent much of Rauch's era away from SF and only returned (albeit, in a recurring/off-contract capacity) after he was gone. Plus, I suspect Rauch used the opportunity to put both actress and character through some humiliating situations, like the ridiculous "rare brain disorder," and that one story that had Beth Chamberlain's Beth in a triangle with her and Matt, with Beth making snide remarks about Vanessa being too old for Matt. It's what killed both his marriages -- to Ellen Wheeler, and to the first Galen Henderson on AMC.
  12. He did. (Why do you think Maeve Kinkead transferred to GL (as Vanessa Chamberlain) after working with Paul Rauch at AW?)
  13. Meanwhile, my forty-year-old ass is here, wishing I had never listened to people who said "vinyl is out, CD's are in!".
  14. Sigh. I'll probably catch hell and everything else for revealing this information, but since it's come up several times in the past in this and other threads -- why not? Tom Eplin's departure from ATWT had nothing to do with contracts being up, or anything of that nature. The truth is, he ran into some trouble BTS with one or two actresses on the show. Specifically, he behaved badly -- VERY badly -- during an all-night wedding shoot (IIRC). Out of respect for the actress(es), I won't name names. But, let's just say it was a #MeToo/#TimesUp kind of situation. Molly's being a house guest of Bob and Kim's after the church bombing (it was a church bombing, right? And Lucinda led everyone in song, right? Or was I high when all that happened?) had a lot to do with that as well. I mean, it probably helped to make the audience more sympathetic toward her.
  15. At this point, we're down to two options: vote (in the 2020 election), or stage a militaristic coup. Chances are good, too, that even if we vote him out, we'll still have to pull a page from the Golan-Globus action film playbook, because like hell is he gonna go quietly.
  16. And once all of the above happens...? Two words: Mass. Graves. Yeah, we need to vote his ass out next year.
  17. Exactly, @DRW50. This is an attempt (on ABC's part, as well as on Spicer's team's) to rehabilitate his image. They've figured that enough time has passed (and enough other fit has hit the shan) for us to have cooled on the guy. Fortunately, in this case, the Twitterverse never forgets; and that, as well as Bergeron's own reaction to the news, might be enough to sway ABC into forcing him out, with the usual b.s. explanation that due to sudden scheduling conflicts blah blah blah. As I see it, Spicer is angling to get back into the arena, so to speak, perhaps with some gig as a right-wing talking head on some news show; and he figures appearing on a show like DWTS is the first step in accomplishing his goal. Before too long, I expect him to...well, I don't think he'll ever apologize for the lies he told as WH Press Sec...but I do think he'll backpedal somewhat. He'll offer statements to the effect of, "I still believe in the message of MAGA, as well as in all the valiant people in this administration who continue to put 'America First' yada yada...but, yeah, Trump is an idiot, and kind of a dick, too." IOW, he'll do what he must to distance himself from Trump (unless he wants a regular gig on Fox News) short of renouncing him outright and switching over to the Democratic Party. Agree!
  18. That (giving Molly definition) might be the only GOOD thing Hogan Sheffer did for ATWT.
  19. I called this one so long ago... https://www.thedailybeast.com/sean-spicer-to-compete-on-abcs-dancing-with-the-stars
  20. And here I thought it was because HotC was a terrible sitcom best left forgotten.
  21. I could understand (somewhat) Sarandon's antipathy toward HRC in the last election. Warren, however, has a cleaner record by comparison, and Sarandon's STILL pitching for old, white, out-of-touch Bernie? Y'all were right: white women hate each other.
  22. Would the world be worse off if these (and other social media platforms) were to disappear suddenly? I think not.
  23. Irna had this habit of killing off characters whose performers displeased her in rather gruesome ways. Didn't she want to kill off Liz by setting her nightgown on fire, because Liz's portrayer had appeared nude in some movie?
