  1. FFS! Trump is looking for heads to chop off, and the [!@#$%^&*] New York Times is helping him figure out whose head to chop! From the Comments section: "You have shown time and again that you are utterly unprepared for this political moment, between your slavish devotion to both-sides-ism over objective truth and your baffling editorial choices." https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/26/reader-center/whistle-blower-identity.html?action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage
  2. If this report is true, then our president has just threatened the lives of "Der Whistleblower" and his/her sources: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/26/us/politics/trump-whistle-blower-spy.html?action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage
  3. You know, for an institution used to controlling narratives and basically telling people how to think, the NYT really sucks at it these days.
  4. Meanwhile, from across the pond: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/british-lawmakers-charge-boris-johnsons-heated-rhetoric-stirs-hate-as-national-rancor-over-brexit-intensifies/2019/09/26/d5942f1c-dfde-11e9-be7f-4cc85017c36f_story.html It's just strange (and scary) to me how our government and the UK's appear to be imploding at roughly the same time and speed.
  5. Presidential historians agree that had he not pardoned Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford would have had a second term as Commander-in-Chief. Like you said, @Vee, it won't come to Trump being removed from office; but, if it does, then Pence would be wise NOT to follow Ford's lead.
  6. If and when The Whistleblower does finally show up to testify... Maguire did too threaten to resign! SOMEONE HAS GOTTEN TO HIM!
  7. It's like the NYT staff is made up primarily of Teen Talk Barbie dolls that, when you pull their strings, say, "JOURNALISM IS TOUGH!"
  8. I read the article in question, and even I felt there was something fishy about it!
  9. One of these days, someone's gonna come up with a more clever name for the whistle blower than "The Whistleblower." I just know it. True, the average I.Q. among the Trump administration is staggeringly low. However, something about THAT situation has me wondering whether someone from within the WH emailed the Dems on purpose, then played it off as a mistake to avoid recriminations.
  10. Agree. I wouldn't put it past that man to sell even his wife down the proverbial river if it meant keeping his own neck out of trouble. So...this began as part of an effort to pardon Manafort? SAY WHA? House Democrats wish to keep their impeachment inquiries focused squarely on the Ukrainian stuff. However, this is quickly shaping up to be the mother of all umbrella stories, now drawing in [!@#$%^&*] from the Mueller investigation and God-knows-what-else.
  11. Well, you know it has to be a must-read if SHE was stunned by it!
  12. Exactly. Although, as I've said before, I don't think he is. Ergo, folks who are reading into his actions of late -- passing election security bills, allowing the whistleblower resolution to proceed -- need to stop. In a way, he's more inscrutable (and more dangerous) than either Pence OR Trump on their BEST days. I also agree that McConnell values the GOP and the courts more than he does Trump. Yes, there is the issue of Trump's voter base, which has most other Republicans in a perpetual state of fear. However, it's just what many here having been saying: the GOP, and Mitch McConnell in particular, know how to play the long game.
  13. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should never let anyone who watches Fox News run a country. Those oldsters are TRAINED to persist with their ridiculous conspiracy theories, even at the expense of verifiable evidence (such as the Ukrainian government clearing both Bidens of any wrongdoing). I know. I live with a mother who watches Fox News. McConnell isn't rattled, because he still controls the Senate, who will never, under any circumstances, go against Trump OR his voters. He knows, too, that, with or without Trump, the Republican agenda will be in place for decades to come. IOW, even when the Republicans lose, they still win.
  14. Never change, Left Eye!
  15. And here's POLITICO patting the Washington Post's editorial board on their backs for breaking open this latest clusterf**k earlier this month. (Your thoughts, @DRW50?) https://www.politico.com/story/2019/09/25/washington-post-trump-ukraine-scandal-1511366 Except that "vague scandal with no real substance" ultimately turned many progressives and fence-straddlers away from voting for Hillary and either voting third party or sitting out altogether. No wrongdoing was found on her part, yet the "scandal" it created was enough for those voters (including myself) to doubt whether she would preside with the nation's best interests at heart. Hence, the #IGuessI'mWithHer noise that trended for a hot minute on social media. And it wasn't as if her emails dominated the news cycles only during the campaign's final, critical weeks either. We'd spent the better part of a year (and maybe more) talking about them, even though the scandal around them had been debunked long ago. I'm worried the same [!@#$%^&*] is about to start all over again with Biden.
  16. I admit that I don't understand everything that's going on here, but it DOES look to me as if Biden won't walk away from this unscathed EITHER, which should have everyone working on his campaign VERY worried. The progressives have been searching for the perfect weapon to use against him. Now, thanks to the WH and its' own brand of stupidity, it looks as if Christmas is about to arrive early for them. I never thought I would see the day when Bernie [!@#$%^&*] Sanders looked to be the better candidate to run against Trump for President.
  17. nvm
  18. Are you sure that's a picture of Dagne Crane, @slick jones? Because, she looks an awful lot like Lana Turner's daughter to me.
  19. IKR? I've seen Slip 'N' Slides with bigger production values! Even worse, though, was that it led us straight into the Lorelai [!@#$%^&*].
  20. If you thought the right- and left-wing medias played dirty before, you ain't seen nothin' yet!
  21. Poor Mayor Pete, lol.
  22. "Whistleblower"? Could we find a better moniker for the whistleblower than "Whistleblower"? "Deep Throat" is taken, of course, so what about..."Dark Horse"? #shrugs
  23. It was her time. Pure and simple.
  24. Boy, he looked fantastic serving that Dr. Pepper to the cowboy!
