YR new intro!
LOL the skyline photos made me think of Edge of Night - The LA Years too.

I grew to like her. Initially, I was disappointed with Shayna Rose being replaced. She wasn't the typical cookie cutter young leading lady and I liked it.

Oh gosh, that's.... pedestrian.

Peter Reckell always generates heat with his leading ladies, IMO.

Yeah, she's pretty milquetoast. Hennig had more pizzaz. She's like the Stephanie Cameron to Missy Reeves' Jennifer Rose.

Talk about a missed opportunity. I'd still like to know when/how they discovered it was Penelope Kent floating in The Killing Pool, but much like Maya and the mysterious goop in 2003, some questions will never be answered... I remember this, and Reilly being the subtle writer that he is, when Chelsea and Billie (Julie Pinson) shook hands when they first met, there was this long pause as Billie looked in Chelsea's eyes and we the audience knew right away she was "dead" baby Georgia.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
If Frank and his girlfriend remain intact, it'd be kinda cool if she became a Housewife next season, in order to keep it all in the family (as the family connections with castmembers may cease to exist next year)

Agreed; he's the ultimate catch. Is he the one that gave us Willow the Hooker who was involved with Shawn? And Shawn and Belle were on the run from Phillip with Claire in some island location? I seem to recall early 2007 was when DAYS toyed with the idea of completely backburnering John/Marlena, Bo/Hope, and other vets in an effort to use the younger, cheaper cast and it backfired.

Eric Braeden drags Eva Longoria for her comments about working in daytime
Team Eva. Everything she said made sense. I wouldn't be surprised if Braeden was butt hurt because she implied soap actors don't make a lot of money. Relax diva, she was a young newbie then; you're a veteran who demands special treatment (trust me); we KNOW you make more than what she did.

The poor Spectator really downsized. Granted, it IS a struggling newspaper, so there's that... I wonder if Greta's gay BFF Harold still works there?

...for the same reason why soap fans get/got mad when their octogenarian favorites weren't given frontburner storylines anymore even though the actors could barely remember their lines. For a good 20+ years now, so many soap fans (of all the soaps, not just DAYS) were only interested in their 80's/90's favorites, and the newbies were rejected by and large. So here we are, 2023, and our adventurous superheroes need walking canes and hearing aides (Drake is sporting one, yes?)

I wish they'd use their theme for the ending credits. And now that we're on Peacock with Peacock-produced shows, why not bring back the FULL opening theme song?

Patti LaBelle escorted off stage due to bomb threat
Patti LaBelle is returning to Milwaukee! A re-do of her concert will be May 20th at the same venue. We were notified last week. Yay!

B&B March 2023 Discussion Thread
Props to B&B for giving us an old-school surprise cliffhanger before their "break" to keep the audience coming back week. Despite its eventual outcome, there was no bigger surprise jaw-dropping cliffhanger before March Madness than the Maya/Myron bombshell in 2015.

To their tiny credit, at least we hear the chatter of people and phones ringing off the hook in the background to help with the ambience. Granted, we never *see* any extras shuffling in the background... The aptly named Small Bar sounds like another Club TBD. A set to be named later that was never named so they just used the working title from the script.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I'm guessing the deck will be shuffled next year. One side (Teresa & hubby) or the other (Melissa & Joey) has to go. They've been the main story since Season 3, but I sense this is the "finale" so to speak. In the meantime, they've stacked the show with newbies and friends of to help ease us into the next era of RHONJ. We had the original 5 years, then we had the successful multi-year era of Teresa, Melissa, Dolores, Margaret, Jackie, and Jennifer. Let's see how they transition next year. But for now, yes, this season is shaping up to be good!

ARTICLE: ‘Days of our Lives’ Renewed for Two Additional Seasons at Peacock; Soap to Celebrate 60th Anniversary Season
I'm honestly surprised they didn't renew the new Saved by the Bell series. It was campy and silly, but you had the nostalgia factor and the original's OG cast popping in (plus Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkeley as series regulars). Oh well. I am happy for DAYS, its cast and crew. In 2011 when we learned we'd soon be down to 4 soaps with GH nearly getting the ax alongside AMC/OLTL, I didn't think we'd get a 50th anniversary for DAYS... now here we are about to hit 60! However, much like an Eric Martsolf or Galen Gering, Ron Carlivati ain't going anywhere except by his own decision. I'm convinced he will be the person to pen DAYS' final episode one day.

That's wonderful I look forward to seeing some money pumped into this show. The one-bedroom-fits-all has become the new Blue Room. At least EJ seems to get special treatment with a decent bedroom set.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Thank you for bringing up the RHONY discussion, my favorite as well, and it is so sad how badly they (Bravo) botched everything. I also liked Eboni (I don't know her Republican-slanted backstory) and I think she could've thrived had she been brought on even just one season prior. And the idea of her joining Potomac is inspired. The fact that Ramona and Eboni were able to come to an understanding on their own and go forth into what would have been Season 14 together shows growth and maturity on both sides. We can always do the woulda, coulda, shoulda with this cast, but had they gone through with S14 with the entire S13 cast intact (though I'd ditch Leah), I still think it would've been wise to include the return of a vet (Jill, Dorinda, maybe Kelly if we're super desperate) for the vets to work off of again instead of just newbies. Meanwhile over on the LEGACY that may never happen.... I'd be interested in knowing just how steep the differences in pay were between LuAnn vs. Kelly vs. Jill. On one hand, I totally get Jill's point in that it should be an equal pay playing field, but then I see the side of giving folks like LuAnn and Sonja more because of their continued presence on the series, year after year. Regardless, Bravo should not have shelved this series. Perhaps the future of LEGACY rests on the success or failure of the NEW New York....

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Not that I like her much (though her fine-ass philandering hubby is nice to look at), but I'm just glad we get to see something a little REAL on these "Real" Housewives shows. Hi, it's me. Been busy drowning in work plus a lil vacay with the hubby to Las Vegas (His first time. He said he wasn't going to shop, but I insisted he was because he doesn't know what he's walking into. He was wrong; I was right, tee-hee. But I digress...) I echo everyone's sentiments about Potomac. And what a reunion it was! What happened with Juan's Roommate and Gizzard's desperate attempt to create a story with Chris really shines a bright light on how UNreal and manufactured these shows have become. And viewers are taking note. As I think I've mentioned previously, in an interview with Rinna a couple months back, her description of what it's like to be a castmember on Housewives sounded more like a description of being on Survivor or Hunger Games. Some of these shows have gotten too vicious, playing with people's marriages, families, and personal businesses. Perhaps this is the veteran castmembers' route of generating storyline/relevancy, but in the world of Potomac and Beverly Hills especially, it's getting too dark. Meanwhile, RHOP Reunion: MVP Award goes to Candiace. Well done. Gizelle has egg all over her jowls. Robyn - Bravo is dragging you and I love it. Much deserved. Ashley - My girl... Sigh... You disappoint me. We were rooting for you. We all thought for sure you had this prenup/post-nup in the bag. I don't know what to say... Karen - Stay winning. Though her isolation reminds me of LVP in her final years on RHOBH. Wendy - You've won me over. And I love her rock solid marriage :::fistbump::: Mia - Zero credibility. None. Zilch. Whatsoever. Bye.

Perhaps this writing team wouldn't know any better... Wonder if Will & Allie will make a return visit when Marlena turns up alive? Or perhaps they've been conditioned to it at this point. Grooming in Salem: Death is never permanent unless the actor is older and starting to forget their lines.

What was it like to be around during the glory days of soaps? (Pre-2000's)
Nowadays, I guess we could count that one random tall dude in the background who's always sporting a bad toupee and glasses. You'd think they wouldn't have an extra walking around in a witness protection getup.
