Robert is too classy for Griffith/Morina's Y&R but I'll tune in to his first episode. He's still a dreamboat.

The editors are doing their job. What a poorly written (and acted) scene!!

Days of Our Lives: February 2022 Discussion Thread
Patrika Darbo is doing a very good job with the weak material. Kevin Spirtas has a very narrow acting range and the story is being written, so far, from Nancy's perspective. I'm sure when Leo turns out to be Craig's great love, the story will turn campy and cringey.

Days of Our Lives: January 2022 Discussion Thread
The question is who wrote the bad story (RON) and who wrote the outline. I wouldn't blame cutie straight Kreizman who closely follows a written outline that sets the thrust and dialog.

2022: The Directors and Writers Thread
After 8.5 years, it looks like Anna Cascio is out at GH as her last breakdown was on Dec 30. She started on OLTL in 1999. Ashley D. Cook has written a few breakdowns since August. Must be an entry level paid writer, saves money! Great to see that Sally McDonald returned as Director on Y&R on Jan 26. Even her skill, however, can't rescue Griffith's prozac laden drivel.

LATEST RATINGS: January 10-14, 2022
I guess nuTaylor's wig isn't drawing viewers in to B&B. Y&R: just give me a lobotomy now. If you want to watch library books being re-shelved, please tune into Griffith/Morina's hour of mind numbingly dull as dishwater soap. With honorable mention to nuChance whose on screen baby, Dominic, nails our sentiments exactly about this "actor's" performances every time they are in a scene together. Days: Ron, Ron, Ron: more juvenile by the day. Someone should create a mask of Bill Bell or Doug Marland or Agnes Nixon and put it on Ron; it might help. Kudos to GH for interspersing human drama with vets into the mix of mobsters and non-actors with wax faces, it helped this week.

Craig and Leo. Noooo. It should be EJ and Leo. They would be a riot

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
The male directors at the time were Paul Lammers, Bruce Barry (who is beloved so I don't think it's him), Richard Dunlap (who didn't direct for long at ATWT so could be the one in question), and Peter Brinkerhoff. Lammers was the principle director at ATWT for years and years. Allen Fristoe also directed but I believe he also had a great reputation and was not a full time director in the early 1980s.

Thanks, but this has been widely known since the writer's strike ended. It's the reason why Michael Conforti (Y&R), Jean Ford and Fran Myers (DOOL) are also not listed among the nominee names. All went fi-core and are ineligible for WGA awards. However, the WGA shouldn't have listed Beall as "head writer." She's co-head writer. Last year when Y&R won the emmy for writing, Josh thanked her in his short speech and I believe called her "co-head writer"

Sad to learn Griffith / Morina still there. That's the biggest news.

I find it hard to believe that Sony would can Burgi if he was fully vaccinated and boostered. Yes, he violated the protocol but it feels as if this is a drastic measure given that omicrom is sweeping the nation and it's mild for most. I wonder if this was Sony's opportunity to cut an unvaccinated cast member. Remember: Nancy Lee Grahn swore on Twitter that other shows are harboring the unvaxx actors, yet no one was fired from the three other shows as were Steve and Ingo. Burgi may be in that group.

Is Jill Farren Phelps behind this decision??
-
Y&R: Tony Morina accused of sexual harassment. Sony being sued.
Jill Phelps is glued to Variety.com, wondering if she can come out of her much heralded retirement. There's no hope for Y&R even if Morina and Griffith are removed. CBS and Sony have systematically destroyed the show with each hire starting in 2006 with Latham. Who knew that Maria Bell's 4 year era was the last that preserved at least some of the classic elements of the Bell/Alden era.

The respirator was taken off contract so they could pay for the Horton tree fire special effects! Days' budget is so tight they couldn't afford Xmas lights on Julie's tree!

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
Carlivati and Giddens are both retweeting twitter nobody fans' praise of the show and the possession episodes, in particular. Desperate. They both know that the show is the laughing stock of the television industry. The only good part of the story happened in the first week with Doug's possession. Once he was institutionalized the rest of it has to be given an award for one of Ron's worst Days stories in 4.5 years. And it has a lot of competition.

Looks like Sally McDonald may be gone from Y&R; she hasn't directed since 11/19. That would be sad but I can imagine her quitting after producing Griffith's drivel for three years. Chris Dunn also fired. Morina/Griffith what a winning team. NOT

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I don't believe these photos were from April 1984. Henry Slesar was fired in March 1983; he would not have been in attendance at the 1984 celebration, and unlikely he would have attended an April 1983 celebration since he had just been fired). Lee Sheldon was head writer. This may have been 1982 or earlier.

Why does everything Ron create come across like a mediocre high school play? He's creatively stuck at age 13.

ARTICLE: ‘The Young and the Restless’: Taking a Chance on Conner Floyd, Daytime’s New Heartthrob
Can't act and has no chemistry with Ordway who also can't act. He is hot and does remind me of the original Philip who also never learned how to act. I was always stumped that Bill Bell retained the original "actor" in such a pivotal role and never recast with a powerhouse performer. There was so much more they could have done with Phillip. Morina/Griffith are a match made in total mediocrity.

ARTICLE: Steve Burton Confirms Exit from ‘General Hospital’, States Religious and Medical Vaccine Exemption Applications Were Denied
Does anyone really believe ratings will go down any further without Steve or Ingo? ABC will continue to produce a tired Sopranos knock-off as they've done since the 1990s.
