The Classic Film Thread
One of the funniest films ever, I discovered it just last year but have watched in four times since. What a fantastic movie: Hepburn & Grant are sublime... Bringing Up Baby (1938) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029947/

ALL: They Almost Became
very interesting. it's telling that they he came from a top-rated show, was involved there in several heavy stories and yet couldn't land any other part. sometimes acting skills are apprently needed for a job...

It's my favorite song as well. It's the pure awesomeness. I'm hoping for club remixes though. Falling Free, Love Spent, Beautiful killer and I f*cked upa re good as well. The rest is kinda blah to me.

Finally got the CD after relying on streaming the last week. Glad taht I got the deluxe version: The bonus tracks are better than the actual CD, IMO. I see why "Beautiful Killer" and "I f**cked up" didn't make it on the album release as they are slightly different in style but these songs are better than anything on the actual MDNA.

The Venice remote was top nothc! Over the top cheesy with Tawny and the tower run threat, fabulous with Thorne/Brooke/Macy (LOVED IT) and really tough stuff with Amber/Rick. I know Torkildsen isn't well liked her but he kicked a$$ in the afternath of the Little Eric paternity reveal. And man, this was when a story climax lasted a whole week. I miss those days...

I second all your statements about Ramona. Afterall, she did last longer than originally planned. She could have vanished after Victor left New Mexico but they did incorporate her in the afternath. And the cast was overcrowded with STELLAR actresses. I liked her a lot and also liked the actress in b*tch mode as B&B's Carmen.

it should be noted that they did recast the maid with a prettier actress (as seen in this episode) - so Bill Bell must have changed story directions in between. And I think Farren's daughter was played by Kay Alden's daughter? IMO, Farren was boring but Colleen Casey had beuatiful singing voice and much more tolerable than Michael Damian.

Not necessarily a bore but they came close. Their appeal was how frinedship grew into sth. bigger... I wasn't a major fan, but what pissed be off was that due to viewer hypocrisy this pairing got scrapped whereas 1998 had some major clunker pairings who had a longer life or got a better ending than Neil&Victoria...

I don't think Y&R has ever done some special anniversary episodes, they did however celebrate some of their jubilees like the 25th and 30th with some anniversary storylines (e.g. 1998: return of Carl Williams/Jill vs. Kay & Phillip's letters) that included lots of past characters and flashbacks galore. PS: could someone post/embed the January 8, 1993 episode #5? I'm looking for ways to get around to to see it as YouTube is blocking that clip for me...

One should mention that the story had FANTASTIC built up, it did actually honor history with Vickie's ohoto spreads (I had to got there LOL) and Heather and Ricky Paul (who I loathe in any other role) knocked it out the park. I loved it! Speaking of Heather & Don Diamont: always thought they were already chem tested back in 1995 when Nikki was with Brad. The hatred of Vicke&Brad was just oozing chemistry and if hadn't been for Mary Jo shooting Victor as the next story climax I could have seen mother&daughter being tied to Brad...

Word. Sheila was always a complex character but on Y&R her means to stay viable were extremely limited with Lauren being the only character she had a connection to. Jack Smith failed miserably mostly because of a lack of trying and shortsightedness to give her an option to stay beyond the Lauren-feud. Whereas on B&B, even after the cartoon stint Sheila had so much history with core characters which could have easily worked to give her another healthy run in LA...

When was Kimberlin Brown signed to contract on Y&R? I was surpsied that she was recurring when she started on the show and even 6 months into her run (episodes are up on YouTube and divine...) she still was. And was Tracey Bregman nasal voice corrected with surgery or was it some ludicrous acting choice of hers? Rewatching some early stuff I noticed again that up until the mid 90s her speech manner was really different to today...
