  1. Was this a Lynn Latham episode or still Kay Alden Jack Smith?
  2. If Anne Schoettle was fired as editor she would have been around for 15 weeks/75 episodes. We'll have to see if her name isn't listed on the next original episode. I thought her hiring at GH was odd in the first place.
  3. Kreizman wrote 12/31 script so he's at 32 now. Angela directed. Agree. Kreizman still there too because he's linked profile shows still employed with Corday as script writer. I think Quan is also still there but not as creative consultant. Here's how I think it'll shake out Written by Jean Ford Paula Cwikly Ryan Quan Rick Draughon Jamey Giddens Fran Myers David Kreizman Henry Newman Kirk Doering Dan J. O'Connor (we'll see if he lasts past Ron's last three months with the show) Sheri Anderson? (I still wonder if she got full time employment after going fi core in 2023 for the writers' strike) Simone Hawthorne? Will the show actually bring more racial diversity to the staff?
  4. LOL. I have a FB friend who's friends with Rick and Rick posted to that friend's wall and it made me think of him so I checked Linkedin.
  5. Rick Draughon was rehired as an outline/breakdown writer by Paula/Jean and started back to Days in August 2024. He had been fired by Ron as of Aug 2020 and replaced by OLTL writer Katie Schock. Linkedin profile updated to show current tenure: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rick-draughon-24a4349/
  6. If Y&R fans want to see a pitch perfect episode with all the main characters, perfect dialog, acting, directing, hair/makeup, music. I love the pacing of the episode with some main characters not appearing until the second half but tying into the plots introduced in the first half. This is classic soap. I saw these episodes when they first aired which is why I'm a little sick inside when I try to get through an episode of Young or Days or GH. For all the children out there who think today's Y&R is watchable, please watch a real soap episode....
  7. Days Xmas episodes were taped week of 4/22, so Dave probably wrote his last script (and contract ended) end of March. He probably started at Y&R in April and his first script aired three months later. Days tapes 8 to 9 months ahead with scripts being written a few weeks prior to tape. I believe Y&R tapes a few months ahead.
  8. I believe Dave joined the writing team in 2013.
  9. Apparently Ron's last Day episode is Wednesday, April 23rd. We have 17 more weeks/88 episodes of his crap.
  10. Well, MVJ stayed through all of Phelps era and she's clearly close to Guza. Did she leave because of Garin Wolf? Or when she learned Valentini / Carlivati were coming in? Who created the toxic environment? Was Varni there in 2012?
  11. May I suggest onlyfans as a next gig........
  12. I love soap Xmas endings. Had never seen this. They seemed like a great company in the early years. I was always bored with Labine/Mayer's RH at the time. But I have a new appreciation for the early years after seeing some clips post Helen's death. When Claire returned in the 1980s she hired an aspiring writer to do one script a week: David Appell. He and I were in a soap writing class at the New School in NYC taught by nutcase Barbara Seiger, a PBS writer who Tom King had hired to do scripts after Harding left. David was a nice guy and he spoke very highly of Claire and how nurturing she was with new writers. She tried out many script writers over the years some went on to big things.
  13. As the holidays approach I love watching the old soaps that did it up. I had never seen this episode. I love the Cory house scenes. I liked the Culliton/Tomlin brief era. Not sure what happened there, but Richard lasted at any show as head writer for longer periods than a year or 18 mo. Gary had a some tenure at Days. Perhaps it was NBC interference since Days was taking off in the ratings. But P&G was usually behind bizarre and impulsive writer changes or let incompetent EPs choose i.e. Steve Schenkel picking Gillian Spencer and pairing her with ol Sam Hall.
  14. Y&R current writing team with Lisa Connor not going on contract after 7 freelance scripts and Beall's demotion. What an odd assortment of writers. Josh Griffith (fire him already) Breakdowns Jeff Beldner Marla Kanelos Script Editor Marin Gazzaniga Scripts Susan Banks Amanda Beall James Harmon Brown Rebecca McCarty Dave Ryan Madelaine Phillips
  15. Does someone in the production office realize the lovely person cast as Dex has no acting abilities whatsoever?
  16. I assume all the material currently airing was instrumental in Ron's firing so most not worth watching except Julie's story unless Ron ruins that too. I'll watch consistently starting in April when PaulaJean material starts to air but I don't hold out too much hope for massive improvements. The shoe string budget plus Corday's refusal to fire incompetent friends on staff (Richard Bloore/costume designer; Tom Early/set designer to name two or put Josh Taylor in retirement with all due respect who should have never been cast as Roman and is way passed prime to ask audience to sit through another year of mumbling).
  17. So is Doug III really Doug III or Steve's son, Spencer?
  18. Nicole's character needed to be retired after Maeve quit the second time. It was a perfect opportunity bring in someone new for Miles. Erwin Nicholson had guts hiring Dennis Parker. Henry's material for Derek was uneven although I liked the Jinx story with the former Somerset actress. I thought she shouldn't have been killed off. She fit great on the canvas. Dennis Parker did his best but he was a 70s porn star and once known it was hard to watch his straight love scenes. Erwin hired so many out gay actors though. Good for him. Henry was absolutely right to keep Raven on and front and center. The problem was that, in the name of story and mystery, he killed off her mother and she had no other family. In my mind, the main thing Lee Sheldon should have been forced to do was write additional backstory and bring in character related to Raven. Alicia Van Dyne and/or Shelly should have been related to Raven or one to Raven and the other to Geraldine. I thought the actress who played Shelly had potential and loved Chris Weatherhead. She was Lee/Erwin's best actrees/character and she was never put on contract!
  19. And other than very few casting misses during the Slesar era (first Kelly, Chad, Jim Deidrickson when they were under pressure to go after the youth demo with model types to match some of the other soaps in the early 80s) all the performers were good to most excellent. I always thought the first Nicole replacement (although I like some of her scenes when I watch now) was a big misstep. Too young, too different. The second recast was somewhat better and also a capable actress. They cast real actors, most with stage experience. Contrast that with GH under Valentini...
  20. Friday's episodes featured all the plots worthy of not watching. What a mess other than Julie's plot.
  21. Simone Hawthorne wrote Friday's Days script. She wrote 32 scripts on Y&R in 2022/23 over a 9 month period and one Ambitions episode (story). https://www.linkedin.com/in/simone-hawthorne-69879911/ https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3239007/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1
