B&B: December 2024 Discussion Thread
@bongobongIs it any wonder Ivy Forrester is happy about Carter taking over? Good grief. Even though Ivy and Electra live with Eric and Ridge, did they even meet with Ivy regarding Carter/Hope? Nope. Zende. Were they even mentioned on Christmas Eve? Nope. This is just awful writing. If Eric asked Ivy to spy for the family, you know she would. While Ivy/Steffy have issues, Ivy knows Eric supports her unconditionally. She wouldn't betray him. It's just weird. Wouldn't E, R and S get bent out of shape that the *Logans* fired Electra without cause? That's just easy fuel for the fire in this whole story. I simply don't get this.

B&B: December 2024 Discussion Thread
@ranger1rg Ridge's pen - Hasn't Taylor died twice? Wouldn't Ridge have gotten Taylor's personal effects both times? Or did Taylor rent out a storage space in Bel Air for all this stuff? It would've been better if Taylor gifted Ridge a new shirt (wink, wink). Can someone explain why Bridget is childless? She's rarely on, why not use that time to have her birth a few grandkids for the next generation? At least with Rick, there's always the possibility of the *unknown* kid from a fling. I always thought it would be a good, soapy twist that Bridget was pregnant with Deacon's baby when she left town after she discovered the truth about Deacon and Brooke. She gave the baby up for adoption, etc. @Maxim Thank you! Wishing you and yours Happy Holidays and a more watchable B&B in 2025! lol

B&B: December 2024 Discussion Thread
At least Brad chose the right history to re-spin - BeLief: 1. Like 1993, Brooke is willing to give FC back to the Forresters because it's the right thing to do. 2. Like 1993, Brooke is betrayed by Ridge. 3. Like 1993, Brooke will wake-up and realize the Forresters don't give a you-know-what about her. Let's hope she doesn't revert soon. This story actually has a lot more potential. More than Ridge, Brooke taking over the CEO position should be to protect her three(!) Forrester children's legacy. The show should explore this angle, especially RJ and Rick. Bridget doesn't care, but it's still her father's company.

B&B: December 2024 Discussion Thread
B&B's Electra s/l is actually Brad's closest timely 'hit' on a social issue. A bipartisan bill passed to that makes it illegal to post AI/deep fake revenge porn online and requires websites to remove those images within 48 hours. I don't get is why B&B rushed this story. The initial *shock* about what happened to Electra was enough to give us some background on the character. Remy just popped up, got a job and an apt at Ill Pizza and he's already doing this? So strange. This story could have built over months, including ambiguity over whether Remy was the culprit. It could've been Lunacy! Brooke as CEO. I've been calling for it for years. Brooke should be a leader with power at FC - preferably with Steffy. That moves also significantly undercuts the Forrester trio BeLief that Carter was going to run it into the ground because he doesn't know fashion. I hope this sticks for a few months. Now, B&B has one thing left to do: give KKL either the opening or closing shot in the credits. JMcC doesn't deserve to have both. They each should have one. While their tenures are equal, I'm going to be KKL has appeared in far more episodes.

So if Brad decides to extend the FC takeover story, which he should, I can't help but think that Justin was encouraged by someone - $B - to proclaim that Carter's action were bulletproof, which they are clearly not. $B has believable motivation for snatching FC from the Forresters: The Dressmaker, Katie, Will and, of course, Brooke. I'm over emasculated $B! It'd be a fun twist, especially if Brill reunites ('I did it all for you, Brooke!'

B&B: December 2024 Discussion Thread
We all know Brooke's original 4-week binge drinking because she was *alone* was Brad's failed attempt at a social issue/Emmy bait story. It was so bad that the entire thing was wrapped in 10 weeks. It was a huge mistake to saddle Brooke with this disease and a insult to those who are impacted by the disease. That said, we all know B&B is doesn't do anything random. Brooke could've thrown herself on the couch to cry, instead she went to the rolling bar. After Ridge inevitably does the hot yoga healing with Taylee, Brooke pours a drink, raises it to her mouth, but there a knock on the door... Is it Deacon, $B, Liam, Jack, Finn, Eric, Carter, Thomas or Zende? No, it's Remy(!), who ends up filming his multi-room romp with Brooke. Remy accidentally drops it on the dark web - thinking it's an Electra thing. Fortunately for FC, Will discovers Remy's skilled at deepfakes. Will confides to Katie that the Bremy video is legit. Since Katie knows a scandal guarantees $B will *ride* to Brooke's rescue, she asks Will to keep quiet and let everyone assume his Aunt B is a victim....until two months later when Brooke's flustered gynecologist shows up at the latest Brooke's Bedroom photo shoot. Brooke: "Brad promised I'd never hit menopause.' Gyno: 'Promise kept.'

B&B: December 2024 Discussion Thread
The past 6 months KKL has been given great material and she just brings it - her convos with Hope about Finn, Brooke's Bedroom and, now, the FC takeover. KKL actually got me to tear up when she read Ridge. Her acting choices were superb. Instead of histrionics and blathering, she served a captivating and believable performance. Of course as Brooke is hovering over those bottled waters ... I kept wondering how long before 2022's "Why did I drink?' is replaced 2025's 'RIDGE, you made me drink!'

@Maxim Updated CBS.com B&B tag line: The Bold and The Beautiful: Drama 1987 'Dive into the high society world of Los Angeles fashion with the Forrester family.' 'Watch all three generations of the Forrester, Logan, and Spencer families dive into bed with each other while they repeatedly wax on about how they're culturally, morally, and socially superior.'

At least B&B continues to dress KKL superbly. I'll keep repeating that Brooke really need to cut off Hope when she waxes about Carter doing it for the Logans. It's too bad they can't use any of the BeLief flashbacks because I need Brooke remind the Forresters of all the dirty tricks they all pulled to cheat Brooke out of the formula that made the FC major $$$. Yeah, there is no f-ing way Ridge would call Hope that. On top of raising Hope, Ridge just isn't that kind of guy. That's a major fail, but intended to push Ridge right into Taylee's arms. Somebody please let RJ out of the rooftop gym! While it's s conceivable RJ wouldn't know about the takeover because it's only been 2 days since Brooke found out, I hope it's because they're saving RJ's reaction to milk the story further. LSV is really looking Boss. While the set-up, insta-love etc are weak, the story has been solid from the moment Brooke over heard Cope. It's been fast-paced - for B&B - and well-acted by all.

Anyone else notice how great SC has looked during the past two weeks? It's interesting how natural she looks as soon as the confession/stopped taking the tainted pills. I'm starting to wonder if make-up intentionally made Sharon look more puffy because she was being drugged. I know there's speculation about it being for other reasons, but the timing seem far too coincidental.

The Victor/Kyle scene was intriguing. MM look of horror was great when Victor said that Diane was going to take the keys back to Jabot and more + that he'd set a time bomb in the Abbott household. I do like that they are planting the seeds that all the things Jack + Diane said in their ruse rang way too deep and truthful to all those who observed it. If there's no thing we know in the 40 years since Diane came on the scene is that she is never complacent or satisfied.

So when Carter is waxing about the Logans, etc., I kind wish the trio had fired back: Eric: 'Brooke gave up the Forrester name not once, not twice, but three times! She'd have it now with Ridge for like the eighth time, but Brooke's playing the long game. She's waiting for Donna to cheat with Justin so I can finally remarry her and she'll finally have rightful place as the Forrester matriarch.' Steffy: 'It's true. Right, Dad?' Ridge: 'Good Lord, Carter, haven't you been paying attention to how this family works? That alone should disqualify you for any leadership position at FC.'

I noticed. OC, RB is still gorgeous, but her hair is darker, make-up is mooted and clothes are neutral/frumpy. Compare to KKL's vivid and stylish outfits - she just glows - it's been her best styling in years. Let's be real: can any soap mother-child pairing beat Lesley-Anne Down/Jack Wagner's five (5!) year age difference? And, unlike JMW, Nick looked his age.

@Maxim I'm truly, madly, deeply in love with ... your posts! We're back to the word of the day 'coup' kinda like 'toxic' for Queila since everything written for RS could've been played by KB. I will say that JMW, KKL and RB make the show watchable. All three can take the most lifeless, repetitive and outright poor dialogue and make it work. And, man, the lines for Taylee the past few weeks have been downright awful.

@Soapsuds This begs the question: Did Carter actually file the paperwork before Justin got involved? I doubt it. The easiest short-term solution would've been for Justin to replicate the LLC filing, had Ridge and Steffy sign it/date it and file it immediately. Since Justin's new paperwork is dated later, it would provide a stronger defense that Carter's old paperwork was superseded by Justin's filing. On the other hand, there's no drama if Carter's paperwork is invalid. You just know they have to show Carter and Hope *playing the p*rn sax' in Ridge/Steffy office at least once!

BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
Curious if CBS is going to do full or partial preemptions for the 12 scheduled Champions League soccer days between March 4 and May 7. The first matches are scheduled for the two weeks immediately after the debut - March 4-5 and March 11-12. BTG first three weeks: Air six episodes; preempt two; air three; preempt two. It only gets worse after that with March Madness and the eight remaining soccer matches. That's a lot of disruptions during the first 2.5 months. At least 12 soccer partial/full and 2 March Madness. To put it in perspective: there are 55 total M-F during that time period and 25%(14) of those days BTG will be partially or fully pre-empted. That's not a recipe for success. I hope I'm wrong, but no way CBS chooses a soap over the demo-friendly soccer.

@Maxim 100% on all your points. The only saving grace is that KKL/AN both have the ability to take really bad material and make it almost compelling. KKL has actually been excellent since the reveal - instead of histrionics - by playing it absolutely cool and levelheaded has really been a refreshing change for Brooke. Otherwise, everything else is terribly subpar - even on a B&B scale. Maybe it's me, but the character destruction of Carter is eerily similar to what happen to Maya. Both characters had been empty shells just lingering. When KM finally got a shot to be a leading lady - ironically, scheming with Rick's takeover of FC - Myron was created on the character was done. LSV is finally gets his shot at being a leading man - surprise - trying to takeover FC - Carter has lost his moral compass, legal ethics and integrity. Seriously, after 10 years at being at FC, *now* Carter championing for the so-called Logan underdogs. Gross and a complete waste. I can save Carter. Brooke: 'Carter, if I really wanted FC, I know how to get it myself. The reality is that poor Widge needs to feel like an Alpha instead of a dressmaker. You know that $B/Stallion inferiority complex. If you want to know *how* I'll get FC back instantly, meet me in the steam room.' As the *victim* of a Brooke scandal, all the above will be forgotten and Carter will go back to his office, except for B&B weddings.

MTS looked positively regal today, especially the way her hair was done. Also, notice the suit Nikki was wearing resembled Katherine's suit in the picture. Nice touch. As much as I enjoyed AD as Diane, SW has such a broad range - ruthless to vulnerable. I'm also a bit biased because I never forgave AD's Diane for cheating on good guy Andy!

B&B: November 2024 Discussion Thread
Line of the day: Ridge to Brooke: 'Carter, *my* Carter!' KKL made some great acting choices in breaking the news to Ridge. Brooke as the calm, logical, but also unwavering is far more appealing to watch. The writers helped by not letting Brooke excuse Hope. Up until Brooke gave FC back to the family, Brooke was usually the smart one and Ridge the flighty, designer. Brooke took a severe intelligence chop after that. The odd thing is that Brooke could've still been smart and scandalous (e.g., Jill Y&R, Erica, AMC, Raven, EON). It's a shame that Brad couldn't reconcile those things.

Y&R: November 2024 Spoilers
Ugh, not Billy/Phyllis again. They definitely work as colleagues/friends - like the unexpectedly good scenes when Phyllis joined A-C for like two days. I'd rather see MS with CF - there's some weird (hot) magnetism between those two. Chance needs to loosen up and Phyllis needs to bring it down. I sense zero sizzle with Chance/Summer.
