I'll have to look more into both of their tenures. Again, wasn't a One Life fan, so I'm not entirely familiar. Plus, I know she was a big fan of Jill Farren Phelps whom I know a lot are not fans of, haha.

But didn't they sue Melissa Reeves? I'm not entirely in the known of that situation. Just that there was a supposed affair between her and other actor (the Peter Blake actor). But this is Zucker suing Corday Productions AND Ken Corday, who we know is playing golf all-day long and still associating with the abuser. If Corday and Corday Productions were smart they'd settle with her, and then she should pursue other soaps. I just don't see how she could go back onto the set again knowing Corday is there. I know I wouldn't be able to if I were her. If they're signed to SAG-AFTRA, even through Netcode, then the guild should be involved and protecting these actors they claim to want the best for. Or is it just about money for them? It baffles me. And yup. Soap performers are third-class citizens in the acting world. Bottom of the barrel (so-to-speak).

I think a lot of people come into daytime and say "Hey, they did this in primetime so let's do it in daytime," and that backfires. It just sets things back and does not come off as effective. And that is attributed to many factors, two of which are money and time. They want to write for plot and not character; daytime is all about character, which I don't feel primetime is necessarily about. Especially in today's world of Netflix and streaming. You have eight to twelve episodes to produce per season. Daytime is over 200 episodes. It's an entirely different animal altogether. Hogan Sheffer, from my point of view, did some good work until he didn't, and it showed in the finished product. And it baffles me he was at The Young and the Restless, because his work was unrecognizable to me. And I don't know much about One Life to Live, but I do recall an interview Erika Slezak did where she didn't think Linda Gottlieb was necessarily right for the show. To quote: ❝ Who was a filmproducer and who was going to revolutionize daytime, which she did not do in two years. And she changed certain things. I suppose I can say what I feel: I don't think she was terribly good for the show. ❞

The problem is you need to have people who are coming in and respect what the genre was during its glory days, and how to best adapt that in 2024. And, the truth is, you have very little of that. It seems people are coming in with delusions of grandeur to create what they think they should, but it's all done in rose-coloured glasses. What you need is someone like Patrick Mulcahey, who has the experience and training he has, and for him to become what Douglas Marland was to him for someone else, and continue in those traditions. We don't have that "next gen" training that people like Mulcahey experienced with Marland, etc.

Seeing Cam & Josslyn together made me realize just how wrong they were for each other. Kudos to Eden McCoy returning to work and having to tape death / funeral scenes after her personal loss. Nice to see William Lipton again, too. Alley Mills came for her second Daytime Emmy, however, it was Nancy Lee Grahn's voiceover work that really touched me the most in the episode. He's recovering from an operation, how do you want him to look?

This is... unsettling, and so sad that essentially her career as Days of Our Lives is done because of two abusive men. Fücking disgusting. Corday Productions should be incredibly worried about the sexual harassment claims, and if others are called to testify... this'll end that soap. And I hope she bleeds everyone for all they are worth. And, if she can prove the offer they may have provided was substantially less, due to her whistleblowing then she has a strong claim there, too. At this point, I'm going to need Peacock / NBCUniversal to step-in and demand the soap be placed in their control ⏤ something NBC should have done years ago. Buy-out Sony Pictures Television, bring in Universal Television, bring in a team of producers and writers capable of handling a streaming soap in 2024 (if it's even worth saving at this point) and make this set as healthy as possible. The set of Days of Our Lives is toxic as fück and, at this point, I fail to see how the promotion of Janet Drucker is going to help in the long-run. The fact this is picking up mainstream press (Rolling Stone) is a lot. Also, where the fück is SAG-AFTRA in this?! Do they don't care? Because it seems as if they don't. They didn't during the strike when Alarr's disgusting nature was exposed, and they don't care now. Some union, huh?

I'm half and half on this; I'd love for it to happen, but, at the same time, we've seen this happen before with both producers and writers, and it just... does not usually work out in the longrun.

Wow. Richard J. Allen & Beth Milstein did some solid work, and the latter is a surprise given her reprisal of head writing position in 2016 during that horridly dark regime (the time of Albert Alarr's first tenure year).

Watching Monday's episode, and I am thoroughly enjoyed Adam J. Harrington's take on John Cates, and wouldn't be opposed to a six-month stint, and a potential dalliance with Tanisha Harper's Jordan... at least, until Gavin Houston can be written back in as Zeke. Anything is better than Brick, right?

Karen Harris' last credited work was as a writer for one episode (S03E01) of The Bay in 2017. Perhaps, if persuaded, she could return to the writing team?

I think this thread is excellence since mental health is still very much taboo topic everyone, and it's very unfortunate.

Well, even per Mulcahey's admission, he shouldn't have fought back as hard as he did in the past, but he also had some very strong opinions on 2021 about the state of daytime (even in 2011, too), so I am completely hopeful that he still has some of that mentality. His reputation and talents are known, and I don't see TPTB hiring him and being naïve enough to think that after all of these years he's gone from a "no" man to a "yes" man to satisfy TPTB.

It was brought to my attention you seem to think I called you delusional, which in fact, I did not, so you don't need to "tell" me anything as if you're my parent. I know what I said, and stating someone has delusions is not calling them delusional and / or saying they are delusional. If that's how you take it, then that is a you problem, not a me problem. I also want it known (just as an FYI): the reason I don't respond to you Donna is because I have you on my ignore list. So, it would save time to cease responding to me. And if you are that bothered my things I've said, then I suggest you place me on your ignore list, because I'm not losing sleep over this.
