Your daily (or nightly) thought
The complete disappoint of expecting to come home yesterday after sweating like a whøre in church at work to come home to my cold AF A/C, and it was instead muggy and completely disgusting... I'm just... ugh. I know my A/C was on its last leg. Had it eight/nine years, so it was bound to happen. Was hoping to get one more summer out of it before replacing next year. Guess not. Getting a new one this afternoon before work.

Absolutely pissed... yesterday, today and tomorrow, we are hitting almost 100° and my A/C shîts the next yesterday while I'm at work. Will be replacing today before I go into work.. will not come home AGAIN to no air on my room, especially when it retains the outside temperatures, plus 20°. Not happening. It's homophobic.

It's just as bizarre that Kate cannot have more than one child on the canvas at a time. The only time was when Billie & Lucas returned after Austin's departure. If it feels like if it isn't Eric and/or Sami, then Ken Corday and company could give two-hoots about having Marlena's children on-canvas, despite there being plenty of opportunity for them to be.

Disgusting; all of this money to call a car service, and he makes the shít decision to drive under the influence. Unacceptable. Especially at his age. He's been trash for decades... but this just... adds onto that.

Santa Barbara Discussion Thread
I know, in watching for the first time in the past couple of years, the over-saturation of Cruz & Eden is what's kept me from returning to watch, among other creative decisions being made. On paper, much like the hiring of Terry Lester as Mason, Eileen Davidson should have worked as Kelly Capwell. However, unlike Lester, she was miscast. But she did the best she could. Casting out Carrington Garland was a huge misstep for the return of the Dobson, and again proves my point: their choice of castings was always their biggest flaw for me, stemming back to the recasting of Santana Andrade. But they clearly wanted to "age" Kelly a bit, due to the absence of Marcy Walker's Eden, and the end result was... disappointing. Plus, their decision to pair Cruz with Kelly lended itself into the recast. Shame.

Yup; Mansi jumping to General Hospital was a sign, to me, that [apart] from the impending strike at the time, it was definitely something at Days that was off-putting for her. And I'm high-key hoping it could be the same for Miller. I just don't think that set is a good one to be on. I really do not.

Not to mention, the ER hospital [waiting] room is in the right-hand corner of Craig's post. So, he was on set yesterday (or was on set prior and just posted the image hoping no-one noticed).

Not arguing this with you. I think it was about Miller doing it for the audience. I remember she stated, at the time, there were plans to recast because Kate Mansi left, and she did not want the fans to adjust to another brand-new recast. Per Soap Digest: But I also feel like the behind-the-scenes drama also worked into both the exits/tenures of Mansi & Miller.

From my POV, I don't think she's fully MAGA, but was more MAGA over choosing Biden. That's my take. Kind of both...? Marci Miller wanted to be recurring and offered to remain as recurring, but we were told the "writer" didn't want to write for a part-time couple when one of the persons in the pairing was full-time, so the result was to kill-off Abigail. She explained her 2020 return was because she didn't want the fans to have to deal with another recast, so she felt is appropriate for her to return over someone new.

Mhmm. I know New World tried shopping the soap around once NBC canceled, but it wasn't picked up. If I am being honest, NBC was never the right home for Santa Barbara.

Time slot. Time slot. Time slot. For the most part, NBC pitted Santa Barbara against General Hospital on ABC and Guiding Light on CBS, both of which enjoyed high ratings at the time in the same time slot across all markets. When NBC canceled Search for Tomorrow in 1986, it launched its "It Will Excite You" campaign, which promoted their three-hour block of serials starting with Days of Our Lives, followed by Another World, and ending with Santa Barbara in most of the markets across the country. Some markets chose to air Santa Barbara in a mid-morning time slot, which took them out of the previously-mentioned competition. I'd wager Santa Barbara was pretty consistent in having around three million viewers per season, which is good for how new it was, but it remained consistently at number ten in the rankings of soaps.

yuppppp! It's time for the reunion!- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I've read Elizabeth Dennehy was hired during a strike period, and the writer (at the time) was unhappy with her as Blake, so she fired because she didn't embody as Roger Thorpe's daughter. And supposedly, Sherry Stringfield was whom they had in-mind prior to the strike, so when the time came, they pounced in hiring Stringfield.
