  1. Heather Tom has directed on B&B. Her IMDB says 25 episodes, is that correct? Were there any other female directors on B&B at the same time? I have no idea. HT also directed one episode of Y&R. ---- According to their IMDB accounts: Susan Flannery directed season 4 of the websoap Venice -- with Crystal Chappell. Cady McClain directed season 5 of Venice -- with Crystal Chappell. Hillary B. Smith directed season 6 of Venice -- with Crystal Chappell. ___ Cady McClain is very active in encouraging women to become directors in film and TV. In 2018, she released a documentary about women who direct called "Seeing is Believing: Women Direct." Kimberly McCullough was a Director in the ABC/DGA Creative Talent Program 2012-2014. But I don't think she has directed soaps? Cady McClain and Kimberly McCullough both seem more interested in directing than acting.
  2. July 23, 2021, Carson Boatman married his fiancée, model Julana Dizon. https://people.com/tv/days-of-our-lives-star-carson-boatman-weds-model-julana-dizon/ (They've been together since 2016 and got engaged in July 2020)
  3. I'm pretty sure the Olympics cliffhanger won't be *only* Ben/Ciara/Theo. Something else will happen Thursday, I think ... I assume? there will be a reveal with EJ finally reading the letter from Kristen?
  4. People complaining because she avoided the limelight in Paris... but is now a "Barbie Roll Model" doll, and she is on magazine covers, and in a Netflix special. Well, hello, hey, Those magazine covers were maybe photographed a while back? The Netflix special must have been filmed before Paris. The only *new* thing she did was to release tweets to announce these. And even if any of that was photographed recently, she did it on her own terms, in her own time, on days she wasn't competing in a tournament. That is totally different than being pressured to answer questions at a press conference during a tournament.
  5. I don't think Naomi damaged herself in Paris. I think the media tried to damage her. I support the fact that she stood up for herself!
  6. Being fully vaccinated (one J&J, or two Pfizer, or two Moderna) was never meant to prevent catching a milder case of Covid. Being fully vaccinated protects you against a severe case, hospitalization, and death. You can still catch a mild case. It's always been that way. The science has always said that. The CDC and the WHO say this. The vaccine companies have never said otherwise. The the whole issue is so scary and confusing, and the media and politicians muddle things, so it's understandable that this truth is not understood. --- This has been the case since the vaccines were developed for the original strain of COVID. This is *still* true *at least* 95% of the time - even with the Delta variant. Being fully vaccinated almost always protects you from the Delta variant causing hospitalization or death. But you could still catch a mild case.
  7. I wasn't eligible for a first dose in my state until late April. And by then it was hard to get an appointment. I got my first dose in May and second in June. Many countries don't have any doses available.
  8. I agree with this. (I didn't intend, in my earlier post, to agree with or imply any judgement of slutty or not slutty. I intended to agree with the statement that she wasn't hitting on Eli. And just commenting that it was unsurprising that when she was feeling lost. she hit on her ex who is Theo.)
  9. I agree. And when Chanel hit on Theo a few days ago, it was her reacting to her own pain of Allie sleeping with Tripp. And Chanel and Theo had a relationship in South Africa, so she wasn't hitting on some rando - and also Ciara didn't know that Theo had become involved with Ciara.
  10. I think the Tripp/Allie sex or love scene not being shown ... was a COVID thing. That was filmed around the end of March or beginning of April. Maybe the actors hadn't been vaccinated yet? But that was fine with me. I have zero interest in that pairing. I don't know why we had to see all those Kate/Jake sex scenes. Maybe the actors were quarantined, tested, and agreed to the risk? Or maybe they were actually kissing for only a few seconds but the film editing made it seem like more?
  11. https://www.barnstablecountyhealth.org/covid-19-important-news-and-updates Tuesday, July 13, 2021 Statement on recent COVID-19 cases in Provincetown From: Town of Provincetown Outer Cape Health Services Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment Honorable Sarah Peake, State Representative Honorable Julian Cyr, State Senator PROVINCETOWN, MA – Officials with the Town of Provincetown, Outer Cape Health Services, Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment, state Representative Sarah Peake, and state Senator Julian Cyr are actively monitoring recent cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Provincetown, in consultation with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The positive cases were identified in individuals presenting with mild respiratory symptoms and were tested for COVID-19. Overwhelmingly, the affected individuals have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. The moderate intensity of symptoms indicates that the vaccines are working as predicted. Provincetown has among the highest vaccination rates in the Commonwealth, with 114% of the eligible population age 12 and older in Provincetown having been fully vaccinated. Health officials expect to continue to see a low level of positive cases through the summer in a community such as Provincetown with a seasonal population of approximately 60,000. As we enter a new phase of living with the virus, vaccination remains our strongest defense in preventing serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19. In response, town, county, and state officials are working to expand access to testing in Provincetown immediately. By appointment COVID-19 testing has been available at Outer Cape Health Services’ location in Provincetown continuously. Understanding that any report of new cases will prompt an increase demand for testing, additional testing resources from the Commonwealth will be available in Provincetown later this week. (The press release continues with details about specific times/places that testing will be available) ----------------- (the original says 114% and I don't know why). The important point is: "The moderate intensity of symptoms indicates that the vaccines are working as predicted." -------------------- The COVID-19 vaccines are intended to prevent deaths, hospitalizations, and severe symptoms. They were never announced/promoted as being able to prevent mild-to-moderate symptoms. The same is true for influenza vaccines.

  15. Oh yes I totally agree. I think that tweet was simply pointing out that not only does Y&R blatantly ignore the Mariah/Tessa relationship all year long, they didn't even show them during June.

  18. Karla Mosley is due to give birth July 5th. It would be her call as to how/when/where she starts working again.
  19. Another tweet from Ronan Farrow about the same article: https://twitter.com/RonanFarrow/status/1411269406177599491 “I helped a corrupt family seize all this control.” We investigated the Britney Spears conservatorship for months. Here’s the story, by @jiatolentino and me: https://www.newyorker.com/news/american-chronicles/britney-spears-conservatorship-nightmare Intro from The New Yorker about the same article: https://twitter.com/NewYorker/status/1411460672798564354On the eve of her recent court hearing, Britney Spears called 911 to report herself as a victim of conservatorship abuse. @RonanFarrow and @jiatolentino investigate how Spears was stripped of her rights within an underregulated part of the legal system. https://www.newyorker.com/news/american-chronicles/britney-spears-conservatorship-nightmare This instagram post is from the co-author Jia Tolentino (instagram account name is jiatortellini) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ3R_wCjKWA/ jiatortellini For months, @ronanfarrow and I have been investigating the Britney Spears conservatorship — the piece, which follows her from teenage superstardom to the 911 call she placed the day before she gave her court testimony, is up at @newyorkermag now. The level of scrutiny, projection, overwork and control that Britney endured as normal long before the conservatorship would crumple any of us in a day; the way her experience of young motherhood was used as a bludgeon against her, by the press and her family, to push her into breakdown and then force her compliance, will never leave me. I hope this piece makes her strength that much clearer, and I hope you’ll read ⚡️ Instagram post from The New Yorker (instagram account name newyorkermag) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ3VHY0g4wC/ newyorkermag Verified Since the establishment of Britney Spears’s conservatorship, she has released four albums, headlined a global tour that grossed $131 million, and performed in a hit Las Vegas residency—all while having virtually no say over her life. For 13 years, her father and a team of lawyers have controlled Spears’s spending, communications, and personal decisions. “I thought we were helping,” a former friend of the family said, about testifying to secure the conservatorship. “I wasn’t, and I helped a corrupt family seize all this control.” At the link in our bio, @RonanFarrow and @jiatortellini report on the legal entity that stripped Spears of her rights, and on the pop star’s fight for freedom. --------------------------- If you are having trouble accessing the Britney article in the New Yorker by Ronan Farrow and Jia Tolentino, here is an archived copy: https://archive.is/9RCqn
  20. These two headlines are currently next to one another on the front page of the Washington Post website (from my desktop computer view): "Facing delta variant wave with few vaccine doses, African countries suffer — and seethe with anger." "America forgot how to make proper pie. Can we remember before it’s too late?" (The second one is an opinion column. But still ...) The juxtaposition of these two titles ... kind of says something about society, as well as about the media. Why the f*ck are opinion columns on the front page of all web editions of newspapers? I find it so annoying.
  21. Aaron D. Spears! Finally getting a storyline. It might not last long, I dunno, but I'll enjoy him while I can.
  22. Regarding Rashad's horrible tweet ... "Bye, Phylicia" is trending
