  1. They showed the interior of GCAC hotel room(s) sometime this past summer, but they didn't show the lobby, the health club, etc. Kyle paid for Diane to stay there after Phyllis kicked Diane out of the Grand Phoenix Hotel. The GCAC rooftop "Dive Bar" (the bar with a swimming pool) still exists, I think. Pretty sure it was shown recently? So you can't see the actual gym of the athletic club. Or the front door, lobby, bar, or restaurant? But you can see the rooftop bar and the interior of hotel rooms. But yeah I think Devon sold the GCAC so I don't know who runs it now. But it still exists. Speaking of the Grand Phoenix Hotel, Phyllis is selling (or sold) that hotel so she could devote her time to work at Marchetti and plot against Diane. Lily just bought (or is buying) the Grand Phoenix from her, and said that this would be so that Chancellor-Winters could have a place to have meetings and guests. LOL yeah I know that's ridiculous. Abby originally decided she wanted to open "Society" as a hot trendy upscale place for people to grab drinks or an evening meal and listen to live music. I remember her telling this original concept to Jack. I think she wanted something for people in their 30s? maybe ages 20-40. And she hired Lola as the trendy upscale chef. I think she felt the GCAC was too bland for her age group and Crimson Lights was just for coffee. But now Society is just a generic set for conversations. Do they even have live music there anymore? It seems that Noah thinks Genoa City needs a trendy nightspot so he's opening his own club soon.
  2. I think maybe TV insider misunderstood? On "Bold Live", they said that Deacon appears on Y&R Sept 20 receiving a mysterious text message to meet someone at a Beverly Hills hotel. And the B&B producer said these Y&R scenes air Sept 20 and Sept 21 (not just Sept 20.) The way they described it on Bold Live, they didn't say anything about Deacon showing up "in Genoa City". It seems (to me) like Deacon is still in Los Angeles when he appears on Y&R? I dunno, just how it sounded to me, but what do I know? Maybe TV Insider simply meant Genoa City as "on the Y&R show", and not visiting the town of GC. And then Nikki goes to L.A. and she airs on B&B Sept 26. She's the one who texted to meet him at the Beverly Hills hotel. For details, see the Bold Live thread here: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/61680-bb-a-few-tidbits-from-bold-live
  3. Every year, DAYS has an episode where the characters hang personalized ornaments on the Horton family Christmas tree. From Jason47: In 2001, "Days" aired a special Christmas episode. As part of the episode, ten special ornaments were hung to honor the memory of the many lives lost on 9/11. The ten ornaments shown were: FDNY, NYPD, EMT, Father Mychal Judge, Larry Virgilio, Joe Sacerdote, Susan Pollio, Sal Zisa, Steve Schlag, and a picture of the American flag. https://www.jason47.com/days/dayschristmas.html
  4. Thank you to @Noel for recapping. Here's some additional info: The first 7 minutes are about Cobra Kai. At 7:00, Sean Kanan starts talking about playing Deacon Sharpe. There is the discussion of Deacon's past relationships and Sean Kanan's acting scene partners (as Noel detailed above). Thank you @Noel. At 14:25, They discuss Deacon and Nikki's prior relationship on Y&R. And SK discusses recent filming with MTS for the crossover episodes. At 17:30, Sean Kanan says that he tries to add layers of nuance to the Sheila/Deacon scenes. He says that Deacon begins to have a moment of feeling for Sheila. (or at least that's how he tried to play it.) This happens during a kiss, and he wasn't sure if this has already aired yet or not. At 28:30, Sean Kanan answers a viewer question about what happens during the upcoming crossover episodes. SK replies: Deacon receives a text message, but he doesn't know who it's from. The text message is requesting his presence at a Beverly Hills hotel. When Deacon shows up at the hotel, he comes face-to-face with Nikki. Deacon has no idea what this is about! (Then Sean Kanan clarifies, well *perhaps* Deacon has *some* idea... but still Deacon's not exactly sure what this is about). B&B producer Casey Kasprzyk says that on Tues Sept 20 and Wed Sept 21, Deacon Sharpe appears on Y&R. And then on Monday Sept. 26, Nikki Newman appears on B&B. I skipped watching the next 30 minutes which are fans calling in and chatting with Sean. Don't know what was discussed there. At 59:20, producer Casey Kasprzyk announces that B&B is going to be filming on location in Aspen, Colorado. At 1:40:00, Casey says the characters in Aspen are Ridge, Taylor, Steffy, and Brooke. (Not sure if he said those four are the *only* characters in Aspen, or if he said the Aspen characters *include* those four.) Casey says he can't give away more but he suggested maybe we could follow the actors' social media. (I guess he meant follow them for clues?) At 1:03:07 Casey Kasprzyk references "Taylor drinking that non-alcoholic gin and tonic." The guest panelist (B&B fan Candace) commented that this had been a topic on Soap Twitter, wondering why the recovering alcoholic Taylor was drinking booze. (This was in reference to the September 7&8 Forrester family dinner episodes. Taylor was shown drinking something but the characters never said it was non-alcoholic.). Casey replied to Candace that nothing happens by chance on the show. At 1:04:00 Details on the location shoot. Casey says he arrives in Aspen Sunday Sept 11 and they start filming Monday Sept. 12. And he will be back in LA Tuesday night Sept 13. It's a quick trip for the cast. At 1:04:35 There will be a fashion show coming. Fashion shows are back! At 1:06:05 Casey checks his calendar and he says the coming fashion show will be in early November.
  5. The change to DAYS in Canada was announced on Sept 2. Effective Sept 12, DAYS can still be accessed via the Global app; but it won't air on Global TV television broadcast anymore. In addition to the Global app, "W Network" and "STACK TV", there are other ways to access it, too. The full announcement and specific details are here: https://www.thetvwatercooler.com/2022/09/where-to-watch-days-of-our-lives-canada/
  6. This feels so odd to me. I'm a somewhat older American and neither me, nor anybody I know in real life, have ever given the queen any thought at all. Never thought about her when she was alive. Read that she had passed away. Assumed it would be a minor news item. I have online acquaintances who have been crying about this and it just startled me to learn of that. It just never occurred to me to care one way or another. From things in the news media, it seems that the queen mattered to a lot of people. But I can't tell if that's just the media being dramatic about drama, or if people around the world actually care? It just stuns me that anyone would care about any monarchy at all. I'm not trying to disrespect anyone here who is upset by her death. Just surprised that it matters because it never occurred to me. I guess it's just another example of me learning how little I know. Here at SON there is a worldwide membership here of people from various backgrounds. I learn every day that there is a bigger viewpoint about the world than what I assume from my small life experience. Since I've seen so many news reports, I became aware of many people in the world who disliked the royal family's tacit support of colonialism. That does not surprise me, so I mentioned it upthread. I'm surprised that this would even be controversial.
  7. To be clear, they released two different fall promos: One-minute version: Two-minute version: You can click on the gear icon on each one to select a slower speed and then watch in slow-motion to see the details.
  8. Ah okay, Closed captioning didn't capture what she said. I tried listening again. It does sort of sound like "Pop", but I cannot really tell.
  9. I think Kayla said "Mom" while still in the hospital bed? so maybe she wondered if (guessed?) she was going into the light to see Caroline (but obviously we won't see Caroline).
  10. Checking out the #IrishTwitter hastag. (Alongside #BlackTwitter BrownTwitter and IndigenousTwitter). Lots of people around the world are not feeling up to honoring the symbol of colonial occupation. https://twitter.com/hashtag/IrishTwitter?src=hashtag_click
  11. Jason47's full list of all DAYS preemptions since 1965: https://www.jason47.com/days/preemptions.html It used to be that NBC would consider an entire episode preempted due to news ... if a certain percentage of the episode didn't air in the main east coast timeslot (which usually starts at 1pm for most of the east coast, even though NYC and a few other cites start at noon) and/or Central Timezone slot. (or something like that). Basically if a certain percentage of an individual episode didn't air in most of the major markets ... it would be ruled as officially preempted. If they called the episode as officially preempted, then it would air in full on the next weekday airdate and all subsequent episodes would be pushed to their next airdates. But DAYS hasn't done that since April 2013. Since May 2013, NBC has officially preempted DAYS *only* for the following: planned sports coverage (including dog shows), and presidential inaugurations. And that is all. Since May 2013, if an episode was partially or fully interrupted, you'd have to watch online or ask a friend what you missed. --- In contrast, Y&R still does that rule -- if more than half of an episode doesn't air in the major USA markets, then they consider the entire episode officially preempted and it airs in full the next day.

  13. In today (Sept 9) US episode, they are having a Chancellor-Winters video meeting with Jill. Jill asks how Moses is doing. Devon replies that Moses is settling in well at college. It's a two-second exchange.
  14. I had no idea! I haven't had broadcast TV, cable, or satellite service in ages. Maybe 20 or 30 years ago when I last had cable, it was was like $30.00/month or something. (maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I don't think I'm off by a huge amount). I was used to watching shows on cbs.com and nbc.com for free (if watched within 5 days of airing). And for free on abc.com but you have to wait a week or two or three before it appears for free, and then catch it before it is locked. I never paid anything at all to watch TV. I wasn't interested in movie channels so I didn't need that. I had no idea people paid that much for cable nowadays! I finally paid for ParamountPlus to watch all the old AND new StarTrek series which is a priority for me. Essential for hopefulness during covid lockdowns when I couldn't leave the house to do anything. I subscribed to Peacock to watch the Olympics but found it unwieldy and found it much easier to watch specific matches/games on youtube for free a few days later -- I kept the Peacock to watch BeyondSalem and didn't get around to unsubscribing. But I really cannot afford both. I can barely afford my rent and food.
