YR: Tracey Bregman 40th Anniversary
I know! I mean Genie Francis wasn't available for Days as Diana but casting Judith Chapman as Diana was just awful. I mean, Carlivati has this thing about doing all this wink wink stuff for Rikaart that never works.

YR: Tracey Bregman 40th Anniversary
Judith Chapman played Greg Rikaart's mother on both shows. They thought it was an in-joke on DAYS but I thought it was dumb. Judith should have been asked back as Anjelica on DAYS and not the bad recast with Morgan Fairchild. Well it should've been Jane Elliot as Anjelica but she wasn't available.

I love Tessa. Teriah are my fave couple on Y&R. I thought Fen was dull.

Zach Tinker says in SOD that he appears only for the one episode and that's all. (He'd be open to coming back if they ask him.)

Allie was my favorite DAYS character until this week. I still love her but she's been written horribly this week. I have to say Lindsay Arnold did good acting while portraying the horribleness of Allie this week, which I guess is a backhanded compliment or something. Sigh. I believe in acknowledging when my faves mess up. I can understand Allie's insecurity. but ... her insecurity coming out as coldness was just awful. I absolutely hate with a thousand suns that Allie and Alex are probably going to hook up. I gather the actress is leaving at some point (only because she's now on recurring) but what a way to ruin a character before they leave.

Huss filmed or is filming Nikokas scenes again? Doesn't surprise me, but I hadn't read it anywhere. I had wondered who would sub until Nikolas leaves or is recast.

I think Sonny will go to New Zealand with Will (just speculating based on the rumors but also based on the dialog today). I don't really know, but that's my feeling. My guess on how this plays out - We might see them once before they leave. Or we simply see a conversation between Allie and Alex that their brothers have already left. And nobody mentions where Arianna will live. (Hope it doesn't play out that way, but given this show's track record...)

I don't know. But I think carolineg's speculation makes sense, see this post: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/62125-days-january-2023-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1831321

Character connections that were lost.
Originally it was Michael and Phyllis as close friends. Lauren came later as Michael's wife, but it used to be Phyllis/Michael first, and I miss that. Michael asked Phyllis to be his "best man" (well, "best woman") when he married Lauren. Phyllis went to Michael's bachelor party and smoked cigars with the guys.

I wasn't quibbling about greenscreen vs CGI. To be honest, I hadn't watched/listened to the interview with Carson Boatman to which I had posted a tweeted link. I posted the tweet saying they'd filmed the rooftop scenes on another soundstage, and but I didn't listen to the tweet's linked interview of Carson describing it. I was simply (stupidly and mistakenly) assuming they'd actually created and assembled an actual rooftop set on the other soundstage. Once I read the discussion here, and saw Carson's IG story post here about the greenscreen, I realized I must be missing something! I finally listened to Carson's interview this morning. Yeah it was filmed on a different soundstage, but with greenscreen.

I think Phyllis knows Stark was in Genoa City at the time of the Chicago robbery? Or would there be hotel video footage showing Stark in GC? Jack is so stupid.

Which episode are you watching? The episode from Tuesday. January 17th repeated a seven-minute section (yes seven minutes!), and then Peacock fixed it a few hours later. If someone downloaded that episode and uploaded it elsewhere before it was fixed, and that's what you're watching, then you'd see all that repeated stuff. I haven't watched today Friday Jan 20 yet, so I don't know if there are repeated sections today.

Thanks! I know Daniel said Lucy has been staying in Europe with Heather. I guess Heather is sort of an unofficial mother figure then? I know Lucy's biological mother was Daisy, but I was wondering about the current arrangement - because Errol said Lucy is Heather and Daniel's daughter.

@Errol Is there any chance the above picture is BTS from the cast and crew party for Christian Le Blanc's 30th anniversary? The wardrobe matches for Tracey Bregman and Zach Tinker. That on-set party was in early December 2021. (The CLB anniversary episode aired in Jan. 2022 but the set party was in Dec. 2021.) This preview aired on Global TV Canada on at end of Thurs. 19 Jan. episode. The preview will air in USA at end of Fri. 20 Jan.

To be honest. I never pay any attention to background music, so I don't remember, and I watched it twice today. I simply liked the references to history in the dialog and that most of the emotions were realistic. I found Martha believable today. Her own mother in real life died last year, so I think Martha pulled from that well.
