  1. Autumn 2024: "Homicide: Life on the Street" now has all seasons plus the movie up on Peacock. Reed Diamond and Kyle Secor are doing a rewatch podcast. It's up on podcast platforms plus a youtube channel. I just discovered this. In their October 2024 podcast about Season 1, episode 2 of Homicide: Life on the Street: In the last few minutes of this podcast, they talk about appearing on AMC and GH: At around 1:04:42: Reed talks about Matthew Cowles (AMC's Billy Clyde Tuggle) appearing on Homicide Season 1, episode 2. He talks about Cowles' character on Homicide and also about AMC, and what a great character actor Cowles was, on AMC, in other roles elsewhere, and on Homicide; and how Cowles may have improvised something that got past the NBC censors for that Homicide episode. He really admired Cowles as an actor. (I found some pics of Matthew Cowles on Homicide, here: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0604330/characters/nm0184804?ref_=tt_mv_close#photos) At 1:06:00, Reed talks about watching GH and then AMC as a teen, he said he started watching GH so he could have something to speak with teen girls about, and then he got hooked on watching AMC for his own enjoyment. He was living in New York, he was starstruck that AMC was taping in New York with Ruth Warrick of Citizen Kane! Reed went to Juilliard with Andre Braugher. Reed was about to move to Los Angeles, but got a role in a play in NYC.... and then his agent called him with a short stint on AMC -- and that short AMC gig paid more than the entire run of the play, so he did AMC instead, which funded his move to Los Angeles. Reed said how excited he was, because he was brought into AMC for wedding episodes, so the whole AMC cast was there. Reed played the brother of Genie Francis' character Ceara. He was starstruck and appreciative; but he says how much he preferred the amazing dialogue writing for Homicide. He said that soap dialogue is well, saying the same thing over and over 79 different ways. He also said that AMC or any soap, is the hardest job. Kyle Secor then says that Reed's story about working with Genie Francis on AMC reminded him of something: At around 1:08:50, Kyle Secor talks about appearing on GH, with Elizabeth Taylor and Luke and Laura. (one episode) Kyle says he played a guard in an underground cavern wearing something that looked like a cross between an army uniform and a McDonalds uniform -- fatigues that were lined with bright yellow things around the bottom hems and yellow things down the sides, and they carried around guns. Kyle talks about being starstruck about Elizabeth Taylor. Something about saving her character (Helena) from a dire situation. Kyle says that he hung out with Tony Geary, they went to play readings together and took hip-hop dance classes together. (yes he and Geary went to hiphop dance classes together). Kyle says that he had suggested to the person in charge of Homicide that Kyle's Homicide character be written as a hiphop dance instructor on the side, but Homicide didn't do that. Reed is starstruck listening to Kyle's story about working with Elizabeth Taylor and Luke and Laura on GH. Reed remembered that Elizabeth Taylor had campaigned to be on GH. This is the podcast episode. As I said, the soap stuff is in the last few minutes of it. In the comments to the youtube, someone posted a clip of Reed and Genie on AMC, and the podcasters replied in the comments with thanks

If your home survives the wildfire: How to safely clean up the ash that rained upon it: https://laist.com/news/climate-environment/los-angeles-wildfire-ash-cleaning-guide-eaton-palisades-pasadena-altadena What happens after a wildfire destroys your home? 3. ^ another clip from CBS Sunday morning (different than the clip in prior tweet). Watch! The Tamara Tunie amazing!
  4. Noted that the ordinary people (and their parents/grandparents) bought their homes in Pacific Palisades long ago, decades before the neighborhoods became rated for the weathy residents, so now everything costs exponentially more.

  6. There have been tons of news stories about celebrities who evacuated or lost homes in Pacific Palisades and Malibu-- in the January 2025 Palisades Fire. Personally, I intentionally chose to *not* post about celebrities on this CLIMATE thread. Instead, the focus of my posts on pages 3 and 4 of this Climate thread has been about how weather/climate disasters affect the ordinary person and how it affects Nature -- environmentally, politically, emotionally, and economically. This article is about the community of Pacific Palisades. Although yes some wealthy celebrities lived there, there are plenty of ordinary people who live/lived there. Many ordinary people lost their homes in the Palisades fire, and will not be able to afford to rebuild. This article is about that: https://laist.com/news/climate-environment/pacific-palisades-not-wealthy-fire
  7. Another article about Black families losing homes to the January 2025 Eaton fire in Altadena: https://www.bet.com/article/7a2tc6/eaton-fire-devastates-altadena-leaving-black-families-among-the-forgotten-victims
  8. I had never heard of the actress Sandra Ferguson who was mentioned on previous page and above, so I had to google her. I never watched Another World, ever, so the name was unfamiliar to me. I see that she was a temporary Felicia on GH? Interesting! I don't think I ever saw anyone play Felicia except for Kristina W.
  9. yes, thank you to @SoapDope for the photos! @slick jones fyi, check out the above 1970s Y&R photos!
  10. thankyou to @wonderwoman1951 , @Liberty City , and @dragonflies for all posting about the upcoming CBS Sunday morning segment on BTG. One with a description, one with a photo, and one with a tweet. Each complements the other. The more eyeballs the better, so I'm glad you all posted!

  12. Well crap. the Instagram glitchy thing of bleeding down into following post is happening again @Errol (see above as example) I will try my experiment of reposting it with extra blank space at the bottom, to see if that fixes it, (it's worked before). ------------------------------- https://www.instagram.com/p/DE74wJ1PtGf/ arielleprepetit Arielle Prepetit✨ beyondthegatescbs rhonnirose RhonniRose colbynatasha RhonniRose The Dupree Girls Naomi, Chelsea and Kat, strike again! 16. Biden declares the ERA (28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution) to be ratified! https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2025/01/17/statement-from-president-joe-biden-on-the-equal-rights-amendment/ January 17, 2025 Statement from President Joe Biden on the Equal Rights Amendment I have supported the Equal Rights Amendment for more than 50 years, and I have long been clear that no one should be discriminated against based on their sex. We, as a nation, must affirm and protect women’s full equality once and for all. On January 27, 2020, the Commonwealth of Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. The American Bar Association (ABA) has recognized that the Equal Rights Amendment has cleared all necessary hurdles to be formally added to the Constitution as the 28th Amendment. I agree with the ABA and with leading legal constitutional scholars that the Equal Rights Amendment has become part of our Constitution. It is long past time to recognize the will of the American people. In keeping with my oath and duty to Constitution and country, I affirm what I believe and what three-fourths of the states have ratified: the 28th Amendment is the law of the land, guaranteeing all Americans equal rights and protections under the law regardless of their sex. ###

  19. Same. I feel that Taggert should still be Trina's father of the heart, and I don't care about the biology or the retconned canon. Yeah, as Tracy would say "I don't care."
  20. This is so true. One of the things I liked about This is Us, was that the homes of each character felt unique. I don't pay much attention to sets at all, but even I noticed that.
