The Soap Opera Masterpieces You Have Actually Seen
Greg/Eric Peters on Days. And, when I was watching 1990 B&B, I got the impression that he was planning on going there with Kristen/Felicia too but then Teri Ann Linn left.

I was in a hurry this morning ๐๐ And I remembered that the squinty eyes made me laugh a little. It almost looked like he got stung by a bee. In hindsight, I think are much better stories that they could be writing for Javi, but I'll always be glad that they're giving Javi his own character. And, if this leads to him and Leo breaking up, I'm all for it.

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
Three years on Peacock already! I'm so thankful that the move ended up working out. There was a lot of Javi and Leo today, and surprisingly, and for like the first time ever lol, I didn't mind it. Now that we know the truth about Javi's baby, and also why he decided to become a paramedic, I'm a little interested in seeing what happens next. I really believe that this storyline wouldn't be happening if Ron was writing and I'd like to see what's going to play out. They still need to get Javi away from Leo though. But yeah, Al's acting and facial expressions were a little... ๐๐๐ Speaking of acting, as much as I enjoyed Tate and Sophia's scenes, I still think Leo Howard needs to work a little more on his acting when Tate is supposed to be angry. He still plays it as a little too laid back. Sophia's obviously lying to him and he doesn't seem to be all that upset about it. But it's good to see the bookstore set be put to use. It's another place for characters to interact and have scenes like this. It was a little too bad that we didn't get to see Professor Dimera's first class though lol I understand why but I'm still not entirely sure about this storyline. As for Brady, the improved writing continued for him today. It's been so good to see him act like a real parent and not let his kid walk all over him. And now that Rafe is running a DNA test on Tesoro, I would if the thing that we've all suspected about the baby is gonna turn out to be true. Plus, at this point, it would be better than another switched test ๐

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
Today wasn't as good as yesterday, but there were still a lot of things that I enjoyed. I found Stephanie and Alex pretty interesting today. They actually argued a little lol. And now that Stephanie confessed everything to Alex about Steve, and that he promised not to tell Xander anything about it, this is a pretty good opportunity for conflict for them. Which I really, really hope Days takes this time. Please don't give me that Lucy with the football crap again ๐๐ But yeah... I don't know why they're deciding to revive anything between Johnny and Holly. I never thought that Ron, and the strike writers too, did a good job with Holly getting over her feelings for Johnny, and falling for Tate so quickly, so I can see her having some unresolved feeling for him, but it still doesn't seem like the right move at this point in time. There are better ways to cause problems for Tate/Holly. And to use Johnny and Chanel too. Speaking of Johnny and Chanel, they were sweet today. And I'm not against them possibly trying to adopt Tesoro, but I still think Johnny being at odds with EJ, or even somehow being weaved into the hospital drama would be a better story for them. And, I am interested in hearing Javi's backstory as well. He's becoming more than just Leo's boy and I'm happy to see that. Al did a pretty good job today too.

Holy s*it ๐ฎ I just realized; I was right about how that mfโer Ron Carlivati was going to write Mike Manningโs character in episodes that he broke down. How convenient that the biphobe would write the bisexual actorโs character as selfish or unfeeling ๐คฌ๐คฌ

I was hoping for a little bit more for Martin and Smitty's first love scene... but I admit, those kisses were hot ๐ฅ๐๐ But I am not sure at all about Smitty's decision to continue to keep Martin out of their bedroom. If this is meant to make Smitty the bad guy or something, it's definitely not going to work. Mike Manning killed it again though. And I was completely Team Ted today. This is the most impressed I've been by Keith Robinson since he came on, and I hope that those scenes today have an effect on storylines.

He did do some bad things when he first came on, but I think it was mostly due to him being angry that he couldn't be with Renee. And also, to please Stefano. Renee's and Anna's love was supposed to have reformed him.

I see what some people mean, but at the same time, I would love for them to sit down and watch an episode from the 60s or 70s, (which I'm sure so many of them want to do) just to hear them cry about how boring it is ๐

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
And this is what's been most improved about Days since the new writers came in: character is key again, as opposed to plot. I said it this morning, we're getting a much better understanding as to who these people are, why they do the things that they do, what they want out of life, etc., and I've been enjoying all of it. Having most of the storylines be dictated by the characters and their actions, instead of a plot point was the right decision. And definitely the change that Days need after years of some really good stuff, but that often got bogged down in plot driven nonsense that had no effect on anybody or anything. And honestly, Deidre better get the Lead Actress Emmy next year because she deserves it. More now than she ever has, IMO.

There were a lot of good scenes today. The theme of family always sticking together played a large part in the episode and I enjoyed that. We got a pretty good understanding of why characters are feeling the way that they do. And, Shawn and JJ were each used very effectively for the first time in a while. Hopefully, writing like this continues. I liked that Shawn comforted Belle about everything that she's been dealing with lately. It's always good when she has someone to talk to because she doesn't really have that many friends lol. Their trip down memory lane was really sweet as well. I just think they need to feature Shawn a lot more. Dropping his relationship with Jada wasn't the right move and I hope that it gets revived, for a while anyway, before Shawn and Belle inevitably reunite. And, we found out why Claire and Theo broke up. I wonder if that has something to do with why he seems a little off. Speaking of Theo, I enjoyed his reunion with JJ and I wonder if the fact that Theo sold his stake in the company that he and JJ founded is going to mean something somewhere down the line, or has something to do with the reason why he seemed so off. I wouldn't mind JJ investigating that. But it was a little bit of an odd choice that Theo's first stop in Salem wasn't Abe, even if Tony was the one who brought him back to Salem, but whatevs, I also enjoyed his reunion with Abe and Paulina. And I'm looking forward to seeing what he's going to bring to the business storyline. Too soon to judge about nuTheo's acting though. JJ having dinner with his cousin Stephanie was a nice surprise as well. I'm glad that he also had someone to talk to. His revelation about feeling smothered by Jack and Jennifer brings up a pretty interesting dynamic that I hope gets explored. And, I also liked that Stephanie is feeling caught between Steve and Alex. It could lead to some good conflict for her. And I loved Maggie and Julie's discussion about grief and how they're always there for each other. Maggie discussing losing Mickey and how she eventually moved on with Victor was also a nice surprise. But I expected Julie to say that she was going to take after Alice and not try to move on with someone else ๐ But it really is too bad that Marlena couldn't have been a part of those scenes though. The three widows discussing their grief together would've made their scenes even nicer. But I'm glad that she confided in Kayla about the dreams, and her worries about her family. And, with Marlena confessing that she's struggling to find out who she is without John, I hope we continue to see that play out onscreen.
