  1. ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ Reunion Panel To Help Open ATX Television Festival – Deadline

FYI : To all of my Degrassi peeps!!!

    From the Article

The ATX Television Festival will kick off in June with a 20th-anniversary reunion panel for the cast and creators of Degrassi: The Next Generation, the popular long-running Canadian teen drama series.

The panel, set to premiere June 11 at the virtual festival to commemorate 20 years since its premiere, has confirms from series co-creator and executive producer Linda Schuyler, EP Stephen Stohn, producer-director-actor Stefan Brogren and cast members Jake Epstein, Aislinn Paul, Shane Kippel, Luke Bilyk, Lauren Collins, Munro Chambers, Daniel Clark, Andrea Lewis and Christina Schmidt. They will revisit storylines and moments from the series, the show’s groundbreaking approach to young-adult storytelling, behind-the-scenes stories and more.

  2. I just wish we had a better actress playing Tara. She is so lifeless in the role and she doesn't seem the type that Kyle would sneak around and have an affair in the Hamptons neither.

I'm probably in the minority but I would've preferred Sally and Summer being unlikely friends rather than rivals. I think they're trying to equate Summer being Phyllis when it comes to not having many female friends. Though this rivalry is not written consistently.

So I watched Neil's tribute and was disappointed that the clips were all from 2000 and beyond. Would it have killed them to show Nate remembering Neil and little Nate, or Victor or Jack remembering Neil as a young executive... ? And only a brief glimpse of Dru, but I'm not even surprised about that, ugh.

Also, the clips felt really random. They already showed the basketball clip on the first tribute. And the Victor/Neil scene had nothing to do with Victor and Neil, it was more about Victor and Jack. They definitely didn't put as much thought into this one as they did for his funeral.

These are the dates I identified:

Devon - Welcome to the Family - 11/17/04

    Nick & Neil playing basketball - ?

    Victor & Neil talk about Jabot's debt - 2/3/00*

    Neil & Malcolm - 12/30/04

    Neil & Ashley - 7/11/18

    Neil & Lily - 1/28/05*

*I uploaded these clips into the vault, cause the episodes aren't there.

I was waiting for a clip between Neil and Little Nate even when he was a baby or when Bryant Jones was playing him. If you're a newer fan you wouldn't know Nate is Neil's godson and nephew.

Though I did like the mentions of Dru but I was wondering why Phyllis and Rey was in this episode?

Sorry @Forever8 I did not realize this show had two topics.

    @Toups can these be merged?

    No Problem!!!

    Thanks for posting.

It was a good read but I admit, I would have traded all of the comments from Lena Waithe and anyone else not connected with the making of ADW for a couple of comments from Lisa Bonet (although I already figured that she would not be involved in this) or even one comment from Bonet and one from Tomei (did anyone try to contact Marisa? I don't think the article ever said.

Some of this information I already knew and some of confirmed or debunked things I'd heard. It was good to hear the actual account if events.

I remember feeling irritated and a bit sad when I saw that Martin and ADW were running opposite each other in the same time slot. Reminiscent of what I read about The Cosby Show and Charlie And Company. With as few sitcoms with majority black casts as there were back then, somehow networks always found a way to run them in direct competition.

    Did you ever see this?

I think someone posted that episode on YouTube. It was Unsung Hollywood. Far from comprehensive but makes for interesting viewing.

I could've done without Lena Waithe's comments too. Curious did they try to contact Marisa too? I wonder did they also try to get Jada Pinkett Smith for any comments too?

It seems Dawnn Lewis missed having a smaller cast and seemed disappointed by the time she left it was 14 principal characters.

I've been trying to look for it but I never can find it. If anyone can get to it please feel free to post it if you can. Thanks!!!

When I had first saw this I had a flashback to the days of us joking about MAB’s stunt castings lol.

That said, she looks really good!

I thought about MAB yesterday when I saw this too.
