  1. She posted on her social media in November to announce TriciaC’s return, so maybe she’s motivated to appear if she has scenes with Nina?
  2. Since we're talking about Christine, here's a delightful new interview with LLB... I always find her very engaging and down-to-earth https://www.tvinsider.com/991665/young-and-restless-christine-lauralee-bell-vc-andrews-lifetime-movies/
  3. Another factor was LLB was about to exit for her 2nd extended maternity leave and the writers were struggling to come up with another reason for Christine to go away again. Poor LLB! Having to film that scene while many months pregnant... I can't imagine Bill Bell writing that scene for his daughter if he was still in charge.
  4. I love Diane Sommerfield as Val and wish the show had kept her kong-term! Felt like the 1st time Val and Trish met...? They didn’t meet in the 70s? Who is Evan sitting with? Last question, can the soap gods please gift us with every episode from Pat Falken-Smith’s run? 😃😃
  5. Wow, you are in for a major treat! 1991 isn't perfect... there's Leanna's IVF antics, which is so silly and annoying to me, and Traci and Brad's attempt at a remarriage, which just makes me sad. But there's SO much good stuff... Sheila, Drunk Nikki, Neil!, Ryan!, Flo!, Dru's ballet debut, David's "killer' new face, the list goes on and on... Thanks for the upload tip! (I think you mean 1998, not 1988) I'm excited to watch 9/1/98, which has a rare-for-the-time group scene with Nina, Katherine and Jill. Thank you so much Anonymous Angel!
  6. YRFan23 and I contend that 1991 might be the best year of YR ever! Do you agree? If not, what is your "best year of YR"?
  7. Interesting thought that they would “fake” Leo! I’m inclined to agree with you since they didn’t do a close-up of Parros’ face.
  8. Thanks for the heads-up. Yes it was enjoyable. I liked the history of the soap genre leading up to YR's creation. There's a nice group cast pic I hadn't seen before at 24:05, I'd guess from summer '82 Yea there were a few chronology mistakes, like they said the Katherine and Joanne story was early 80s when it was '77, and they said LLB joined in '80, not '83. They interviewed multiple YR history experts - they should have had the experts review the chronology, haha I thought the Phil Morris interview was a bit unclear - I didn't understand why he had a breakdown on set. The interview made it seem like it was because people on tours would walk through the set and stare at him, with his white make-up on...? Doesn't quite add up... Also, they made it sound like Deborah Adair was just a random actress who subbed for BrendaD for one week in 1986... that is just not true.
  9. Wow! I see 12/10/92 - isn’t that where Jill announces to the Jabot board that she and Victor are getting married (but they actually aren’t?) Always wanted to see that. Also 11/15/88 and partial 12/1/88 were added - timing couldn’t be more perfect as I am making my way through Nov ‘88. Thank you YR Anonymous Angel!
  10. Thank you! 10/10/97 is quite rare
  11. Encino, yes! That is a middle income area. Doesn’t match what’s on the map but that’s ok 😂
  12. Agreed that Spectra and Forrester are too close, but I'd say the Logan house looks appropriately located in "The Valley" (San Fernando Valley), north of the 134 freeway. The nicer part of the Valley, like Studio City, is south of the 134, so it's accurate that a more middle-income home like the Logans is north of the 134. Did the show ever give an address for the Logan home or say which exact city/suburb it was supposed to be? The house on the map could possibly be Burbank.
  13. I draw the line specifically the week of June 20, 1994 - golden age legacy characters April and Heather depart, and JM’s Nick (blech) debuts
  14. I had to take a peek at this infamous scene... and yep, it was perfectly clear to Malcolm that Dru was not in her right mind and that she did not realize it was Malcolm sitting on the bed 😕
  15. I love everything about these sentences
  16. Omg @will81 I am LIVING for your blog and eating it up! Thank you so much! I’ve read through 1982 so far… Seems like a rough transition year for the soap opera world… Texas and the Doctors cancelled… Search for Tomorrow on life support (surprised it lasted til ’86)… Guiding Light firing Doug Marland (why…?) and then firing replacement Pat Falken Smith two months later!! The columnists were not too pleased with YR, said it was in an “awkward phase” due to storytelling shifts. They were displeased with the firing of the Lawrence family - said that as soon as the viewer starts to have affection for a character, they might disappear. They felt that Robert and Leslie were a “magic couple”. They also felt that the Stevens family was written off before they’d had a proper chance, and they lament the lack of a blue-collar working-class family in Genoa City. Other YR items of note: They described Mamie/Marguerite Johnson as “recently hired” so that’s another fact confirming she did indeed debut in ’82, not ’80 as some sources say Brian Kerwin (Greg #2) was interviewed. It was said he was on the show for only “40 days”. He mostly worked with Juliana McCarthy and loved her. He kept in touch after with David Hasselfhoff. He started to be friendly with Beau K but then Beau ghosted him. Deborah Adair volunteered at the rape crisis center at Cedars Sinai hospital in LA… love that… Beth Maitland was a casting director before being cast as Traci. Upon her debut, she wore padding to appear heavier as Traci Thank you for preserving those treasures @ChickenNuggetz92 !
  17. YR/Gina's suicide attempt is here, at 33:20 The scene is so disturbing, how it flips from heartwarming to crisis in a second
  18. Yassss the OG Gloria! Thank you Nikki and Vizion
  19. Wow! Your blog is a treasure trove! Your efforts are greatly appreciated by all the vintage YR fans here
  20. I only know Mary Hartman by its sterling reputation... sadly never seen it... why are y'all not reacting positively to this news? Not fans of Emily Hampshire?
  21. Nia Peeples talks here about how YR tried to fire her in 2008, but it was during the wrong phase of her contract cycle so it didn’t work https://www.soapcentral.com/yr/news/2009/0427-peeples.php
  22. Ah, I didn't know that! I know Bell commented that the story "went on too long", but I assumed he meant it went on too long overall and that he always planned for the Adrian story. To me, the story is fairly boring in the first part over summer '89, and only really gets interesting once Adrian arrives. Then we get Bermuda, and Cassandra's arrest, and the thrilling last portion leading to up to the "melting-ice-gun" climax!
  23. Nice interview with Barbara Crampton. She looks great! Glad to see she is back working on film horror projects https://www.cbr.com/interview-sacrifice-barbara-crampton-cults-lovecraftian-nostalgia/ However, I get a little annoyed in interviews like this is that neither she nor the interviewer make any mention of her noteworthy 10-year soap career. In fact in this interview she is called an “80/90s pop culture icon” so wouldn’t being a well-known soap opera star be part of that...?
  24. Wow! Just skimmed through... one of Cassandra's first appearances! And looks like Amys exit 😭 Thanks for these treasures, BoldRestless and Angel!
