  1. Wow at B&B dropping so much and GH going up so much. I have to say that GH is really entertaining for me, so happy to see it.
  2. I was so happy! I didn't really like how she left, almost like she was abandoned by the family and left town overnight in shame. It was a shock to see her back, and I'm enjoying it! So my first experience seeing Dusay on screen was when she joined AMC. I was in high school and thought her character was so fun and wacky and different. It made me an instant fan of Dusay. So I have to say I enjoyed her on AMC more, but it's a joy to see her anywhere. Given that Vincent's role on AMC as Dr. David Hayward was more of a grey villain, I preferred his AMC character over Nick on GL. So, their mother/son relationship on AMC was more juicy and interesting overall. I wouldn't say Vanessa was an out and out villain until she was revealed to be Proteus, and then from there she was a villain in her final months. I just got introduced to India for the first time! Recaps coming, but she seems interesting so far. I don't know much about her character's history from the past in the 80s, so it'll be fun to get to know her now.
  3. Just watched yesterday's episode and liked it! Gosh, I feel so bad for Anita. How emotional. And if Sharon is really having an affair with Vernon, and pretending to care for Anita now with cancer, I'll be so upset with her haha. Naomi can kick rocks. What a selfish B. I love how Christmas-y it all is though!
  4. That's how I feel! I put mine up the day after Thanksgiving, or that Saturday.
  5. Ahh interesting! I was a senior in high school during 9/11, and while super impactful regardless, I had never been to NYC by that point (I've been several times since as an adult). But I guess I didn't realize how big/popular and supportive he was during that time. Only Bush comes to mind, as I was in the Midwest at the time. I just did a quick research and it seems like he left office 12/31 that same year, so was only the Mayor during the first ~4 months of 9/11 aftermath. Like I said, I've heard that he was popular and turned NYC around, but his last ~15 years has been so cringe (the Borat movie taking the cake haha). Speaking of Rudy officiating the wedding... I was SO shocked to see Marj Dusay show up as Alex! I didn't think I'd see her again for a long time, as I assumed she didn't come back to GL before starting on AMC. I love having her back, if only for a short period of time. What a great surprise :)
  6. Happy Birthday to the soap GOAT! She still looks fabulous!
  7. So agree with this! I really loved yesterday's episode - more classic soap opera with Christmas feels.
  8. LOL - thankfully that only lasted a single episode. Super random. But Blake/Rick/Ross and their babies had a great, interesting storyline. I guess I can't hate on it honestly - it was interesting and different. Maybe the only issue was that Blake lied HARD about this and then again later, immediately about Ben. If I were Ross, I would have left Blake many times over, if this were real life haha. WHOA. Recaps coming later, but y'all - do we really have Rudy Giuliani marrying Phillip and Harley?? I'm sure this was a score for the show back in the day, for New Yorkers especially, but wow did this not age well. I'm not a New Yorker, so I don't want to take anything away from what I didn't live, but as an outsider now, wow he's an ultimate cringe greaser, sadly.
  9. Hey, as long as it's possible, I'm game! :)
  10. Super random, but I stumbled across this article this morning and immediately thought Blake/Ross/Rick LOL. I know it got retconned (boo), but still possible today! They were ahead of their time back in 1996 :P Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka English | The leading fact-checking websiteBrazilian Woman's Twins with Different Fathers: A Rare bu...A widely shared story claims that a 19-year-old woman from Mineiros, Goiás, Brazil, gave birth to twins who have two different biological fathers. The report has been repeated by international outlets
  11. Very interesting perspectives and thank you! Mine is probably different right now because I don't have the longer-term history with these characters like you both do. I started when Vanessa and Matt got together and were in pure bliss having each other. Part of what I assume made them popular then was that an older woman fell in love with a handsome young man and he loved her back. I bet many women watching the soap were probably putting themselves in Vanesa's shoes and fantasizing about living that life. Perhaps a projection, but even I'm starting to feel that way as I get older LOL. I also like how he was sort of reformed from his male prostitute days, and I LOVED that Vanessa supported him and didn't let Amanda/Dinah get to her with the news of his past. That was a power move. I do love Vanessa usually, and this may be controversial, but she has made some weird/wild decisions that I still can't understand fully. I know it's the writing, but letting her family think she was dead was wild to me (even though exciting for TV), and then letting Peter move away like it was no big deal (although I do understand that she just wants him safe and happy in the end). I do hate that the writers took out Bridget and Peter when Hart was still in town and Vanessa just came back to SF from almost dying. So many lost opportunities. Part of me wonders if they could have used Matt instead of Ben. Pair him up with Blake in some way which brings Vanessa and Ross closer as they deal with their spouses cheating on them? But you're all right - with Amanda gone, they haven't really given Matt anyone to connect with except Josh, and Vanessa/Dinah of course. I don't think Matt and Beth have a ton of chemistry right now, but it makes me wonder who else he would have chemistry with, like with perhaps Blake. I love the idea of a new powerful businessman coming in and getting with Vanessa. That could have also been fun to watch her struggle with having feelings for him, yet loving her younger blue-collar husband too. In the end, I'm just happy Matt didn't give into Dinah in her first year, as hard as she tried. I also love how he sees through her BS. That's one thing I don't love about Vanessa - she always comes back to Dinah and turns a blind eye. I get being her mother, but I still wish she would put her in her place more and stand firm that he behavior is ridiculous and unacceptable with her.
  12. I just caught up on Friday's show - and how heartbreaking for Anita! I think Tunie will hit it out of the park with this storyline, assuming they write it well and give it enough attention. I'm starting to really wonder if they're going there with Vernon/Sharon (God I hope not)... but that would be a way to bring Vernon back to Anita, if so. Interesting that Shanice and Ted are spending Christmas Eve together, I guess they're really testing that out too.
  13. So wait, if it takes that long... why didn't you like him in the beginning... what about their pairing did you hate between 94-98 (before the Beth thing)? If Billy wasn't going to come back full-time, who did you want Van with during this timeframe, or what did you want to see Van do instead of get with Matt? BTW, I haven't seen Billy since the Cassie and then later early clone storyline... I wonder what was going on then and why Clarke wasn't coming back for a bit. I haven't seen 93-94 YET (as you know), but I really was a fan of Josh and Annie in the very beginning of 95 before Annie turned addict and then crazy. She was a sweet young heroine of sorts and he was a handsome man next door. For someone who didn't know Josh/Reva outside of clips and basic GL knowledge, I really thought Josh/Annie were something special. Then ghost Reva came and I was like oh, ok, here we go...
  14. I agree, I think he's the best. And then Clifton Davis just warms my heart.
  15. Ohh good, I can't wait! :) Interesting! I can't wait to see who it is :) @P.J. LOL - you never disappoint with your hatred for **** :) I'm not sure I'm ready to see how bad he can get.... as you know, so far, I think he's a great guy and I really like him. I know that can't last forever though, so maybe one day I'll join in your feelings about him haha.
  16. Ok I surprisingly found Britt and Brad fun yesterday... not knowing them from the past, I didn't mind them at all. Brad was calmer than the day before, thankfully. I thought it was funny neither could pay the bill and I'm curious how they get out of that today haha. Although it was SUPER lazy of the writers to just sweep aside the fact she didn't let him know she was alive after all this time... like he got over it for a second and then they laughed it off? Ridiculous, but I get it.
  17. I came in here to say this and you said it perfectly! I feel the same way :) I also really enjoy seeing a former "friend" of Hayley and Randy's past... she's interesting and I hope she stays around a bit. They need to watch her...
  18. Ahh interesting about Amy Carlson! Thank you. Still very curious why Beth E. needed a temp replacement, especially right before Phillip/Harley's wedding. Interesting, I'll have to go back and see if they used Denny... it didn't sound like it to me, but maybe I missed it. So sad to hear that about the Towers. I get needing to modernize and keep up with the times, but the Towers was so grand and special to me. I thought it was a stretch too, but they said Vanessa had the power to make WSPR decisions while Dinah (who owned/ran it at the time) was in the hospital. Seemed convenient, like you said, a plot point. I love the Stalker storyline too! It's entertaining and using a ton of characters. Agree on lost opportunity with Ross/Vanessa during this time.
  19. I’m up to November 11, 1998. After hitting a few dead ends finding Selena’s daughter, Harley thinks they should look into the biological dad and see if that helps. Selena said she kept a book of her “John’s” back in the day, but thinks it’ll be of no use. She later meets with David and says there’s one guy she keeps thinking about. He was a young guy in college, with a scar on his face who used to get made fun of by his older frat brothers, so she felt sorry for him and always wondered what happened to him. Selena was the first woman he had sex with, and she thinks he would never forget his first time. So, they want to track him down. Meanwhile, Ben and Beth meet up and he briefly talks about his college days being in a frat and we later see a newspaper clipping about frat brothers caught up in a prostitution scandal and he privately says there’s so much about him that Beth doesn’t yet know. So I guess this means Ben is the father of Selena’s daughter - wow! Buzz and Alan butt heads over planning Harley/Phillip’s wedding - food, venue, etc. Alan wants a grand Spaulding wedding and Buzz wants a more modest, Greek-style wedding. Harley/Phillip are so annoyed at this point, they decide to elope. Dinah’s face injuries are bad and they’ll likely have to do plastic surgery. Given how distraught she is, Hart tells Sean he has to stay with her and can no longer be with Cassie. Hart meets up with Cassie and tells her, and she starts having pains and says it’s Braxton Hicks contractions, and angrily yells at him to leave her for Dinah and go to hell. Dinah, feeling ugly now, pushes Hart away because she doesn’t think he’ll want to live with a disfigured woman. She gives him annulment papers so they can end the marriage, which makes Hart sad. Matt made a minor comment about Vanessa working too much again with everything else going on with the family, and it struck a serious nerve with her. Later at the hospital, Beth confides in Matt about almost taking her life after Phillip chose Harley over her. Matt tells her to call him if she ever feels that way again and then they hug, which Lillian sees from a distance. I guess they really are going through with this Matt/Beth thing huh, ugh. So far, Matt hasn’t screwed up, but we’ll see… Dinah comes clean to Vanessa and tells her she started the fire. Vanessa walks out in disbelief and tells Matt, who calls Dinah a psychopath. Vanessa gets mad at him for not having any compassion, which he doesn’t like because he tries to remind her how many times Dinah has put herself in this situation and how awful she was to them and their relationship too. I have to agree with Matt here. Vanessa eventually apologizes, but says she can’t leave Dinah at this time. Matt then tells her that baby Maureen started crawling and Vanessa missed it because she’s putting Dinah first. Ross meets his lady friend attorney, Anita, at Millennium for a work dinner (which I didn’t realize they had food haha). Blake catches wind and heads there and happens to sit next to Anita, both not knowing who each person is, where Anita talks about having a long-time crush on this guy she’s meeting. Blake leaves to freshen up and comes back to see Ross kissing Anita’s cheek. Later, Blake tells Ross she’s no longer with Ben and won’t be, but that doesn’t help. Anita then shows up, Blake leaves, and Ross fires Anita as his lawyer so they can get closer. They end up having sex (blah). Mick gets out of jail because someone posted his bail and he finds Drew on the beach and threatens her. Michelle shows up and Mick starts to rough her up as well. AHH this is the final scene for Rebecca Budig as Michelle! I can’t believe I’ve now seen her entire 3-year run on GL (1995-1998). I love Budig and it was a joy to see her in this role. This is the big scene where one episode (11/04), Budig’s Michelle is fighting Mick and then the next episode (11/05), the new actress Bethany Joy Lenz takes over in the same scene. This is the actress who played the Reva clone in her young adult days earlier in 1998. A bit jarring to now think of her as Michelle and not the Reva clone. Of course I’m happy Budig left so she could join All My Children, but I don’t think that’s why she left GL. I’d love to know why she decided to leave before getting the AMC role. Anyway, I’ve seen this scene before on YouTube, but it’s nice to see it play out now that I know what’s going on. Drew hits Mick on the head with a rock, so he lets Michelle go and begins to rough up Drew, and Michelle then takes another rock and hits him on the head and he goes unconscious. This scene was shot with both Budig ending the episode hitting Mick and Lenz doing it again in the next episode. The girls freak out and go back to Millennium crying (where the announcer now says the part is being played by Joy Lenz - interesting, no Bethany). Jesse and Bill asks them what happened and they tell them everything. The police show up looking for Mick, and Drew tells Michelle to forget everything that happened. But later, the four of them go to the beach but can’t find Mick, which scares them because they know he’ll be after them, even angrier now. Later at the club, the radio announces a washed up body that was found, ID’ed as Mick Santo (not Santos, interesting they changed the last name later, or maybe the S is always silent?). The girls freak out that they killed him! Jesse tells everyone they need to stick to the story that the girls were at the club the entire time. Michelle is taking it really hard, but Drew tries to support her and I’m starting to actually like Drew now haha. I have a feeling with the Michelle recast, I might start changing my mind about Drew/Jesse/Michelle, ugh. The cops stop by again questioning them and mention Mick’s parents have sworn revenge, in blood, when they find the killer. Mick’s brother Danny then shows up the next day (11/12) asking the gang to help him find Mick’s killer. Annie sees Josh again, who doesn’t remember anything other than her telling him about Frank. She drugs him again and tells him to start liking Cassie, who will be so irresistible to him, which will drive Reva away. This storyline with the truth drug is fun, but it’s so unbelievable, similar to the clone storyline. Anyway, Cassie comes by, Annie leaves, and Josh starts telling Cassie she shouldn’t worry about Hart because she’s pretty and can get any guy she wants. He starts to massage her, which weirds her out and just before he goes in for a kiss, Reva comes home and interrupts him, all while Annie is watching from outside. Things are fine, but when Josh/Cassie get alone, the drug has worn off and Cassie accuses him of coming onto her which upsets her. He doesn’t know what she’s talking about and basically gaslights her into thinking she’s done something wrong sho she just apologizes and leaves, but Annie is upset that the drug didn’t work long enough. She drugs him again to reinforce that he needs to fall in love with Cassie. So he later goes to Cassie’s bedroom while she’s in bed and creeps her out by saying he’ll make her forget about Hart and she needs him. Cassie tells him to stay away from her and Tammy interrupts and asks why he’s there. Cassie takes her back to bed, Josh sees a picture of Reva, says he loves her and then snaps out of it. Cassie comes back and he acts like nothing happened again haha. He gaslights her again and says she’s imagining things and accusing him of doing something he didn’t do. He later tells Reva that Cassie is acting very strange. The next day, Cassie confides in Harley about the Josh thing, but she can’t believe it either. Ken is not doing well in jail, which upsets Holly. Holly, who is drunk, goes off on Frank telling him Ken needs to get out. Frank is convinced Ken is the stalker since they haven’t had any stalking incidents since he’s been in jail. Because Holly is drunk, Frank calls Blake to pick her up and they all go to her house to make sure she gets home safely. They enter the house to find it completely ransacked with a Jack and Jill nursery rhyme painted in red all over the wall! The rhyme says Holly fetched some scotch and left without her daughter, “some mother”. Yikes! She weirdly starts to get happy about it, claiming this means Ken can’t be the stalker. Frank thinks it’s odd now that the stalker hit someone twice (Holly), which is a change from their original motive. He starts to question Holly’s whereabouts that day and then calls out that she has red paint under her nails and declares that he thinks she did this, which Blake is incredulous over. Frank keeps grilling her and Holly finally admits to doing it so she could save Ken. Frank decides to drop it and let Holly go. Holly later asks Vanessa to not let this get out in the press, but Vanessa rather coldly tells her she can’t stop WSPR from running with the story. Holly begs her, as a friend, but Vanessa doesn’t help her. Matt doesn’t understand (and I don’t either) why Vanessa couldn’t just save her friend’s reputation, the woman that gave her daughter a kidney. This is yet another little thing that is clearly dividing Matt/Vanessa right now. Holly later shows Beth what she did to her house and tells her about Vanessa not helping her out. Matt shows up and he and Beth clean up Holly’s walls together. Matt tells her the story about finding Vanessa again through the chat room and how he built their dream house waiting for her to come back. Beth says that’s the most romantic thing she’s heard and would love to have a man treat her that way. Meanwhile, Vanessa confides in Jenna about her little problems recently with Matt and how he doesn’t want her working so much. Jenna assures her it’ll be ok and they’ll get on the same page again soon and she has nothing to worry about with Beth. Whoa, on 11/09, there is a new actress playing Harley (Amy Carlson). I looked it up and she seems to just be temporary, but I bet viewers back in the day were shocked - a new Michelle and a new Harley within a few days! I wonder why Beth Ehlers needed the break. Amy played her for a few episodes until Beth came back on the 11/17 episode.
  20. Aww, thank you! All good - I'm glad it's helpful and we appreciate having the Vault available 😀
  21. This is exactly where my mind went... I remember some of us (which is perhaps not nice) thought he had a little sugar in his tank when we saw him on BTG. I guess he might hear that occasionally and he's working overtime to refute that.
  22. Aww thanks - it's so sweet that in 2025, generations can still talk about soaps and how they brought family together. My grandma always watched AMC, OLTL, GH every day... and I just visited her in her assisted living house yesterday and I was shocked to see she was watching Y&R and B&B on Paramount Plus. She doesn't have Hulu so I'm assuming that's why she doesn't watch GH, but I was shocked and happy to see she still watched soaps today.
  23. Oh gosh, I do not like this Brad character. Or maybe it's the actor. I don't mean to be rude, but his facial expressions are all over the place. I'm back home with family for Christmas and got my mom to watch with me... she couldn't believe Tracy Q was still on... and of course she loved seeing the AMC actors on there. I doubt she'll get hooked and watch after I leave, but it was a nice moment to watch a soap together again after 12 or so years.
