  1. Maybe I don't understand... what would that look like? Would we get rid of all the history we have for each cancelled soap, for example? I wouldn't like that. I like knowing that I can go to a specific thread about a specific soap and discuss with the fans of that soap. I wouldn't want to have to skim through pages and pages of something I don't care about just to discuss something I do care about - seems like things would get lost in the shuffle. But again, maybe I'm not quite understanding. :)
  2. Love to hear this about early 1993. And of course LOL at Van's zingers.
  3. LOL at Buzz in a dress - that shocks me. Was it actually good or too obvious it's Buzz? This all sounds fun, thanks for the details!! The Peter/Bridget story is one I can't wait to see. I'm also intrigued to see crazy Eve, considering when I saw her in 1995, she was pretty bland and normal before she died (but I remember the guys here telling me last year her wild backstory). I'm not familiar with Julie. Sounds like I'm not missing much though.
  4. I thought the same thing. I like Karla, but on these random days she'll act this way and it's cringe to me.
  5. So it looks like a potential Alexis vs. Willow run at the congressional seat? That could be juicy since Alexis knows Willow shot Drew, but can't say anything... but I bet it eventually comes out during this whole thing? I find it odd that Nathan isn't more excited about Maxie. You'd think once he came back, he'd want to visit her and be with her... I guess it would make sense that he's not the real Nathan in this case? Or had his memories altered?
  6. Oh lord, another Febreeze commercial in-scene haha.
  7. No rush, just happy you're still around! 😀
  8. LOL - yep, it was McTavish. I'd have to go back and rewatch to remember some of the details of the specific wedding and how long it went on. I remember Matt in a kilt. But you're right, I'm surprised Vanessa wouldn't have wanted something more elevated. Although I think part of their charm was that this blue-collared, handsome younger guy sort of humbled her a bit in the beginning. As gross as the food poisoning thing was, I did think some of the scenes in the hospital were pretty funny from what I recall. It also put people together that needed to have conversations that wouldn't have normally happened. You are so right here - spot on. That's what I loved about early 1995, but then we did slowly lose that community feel. I'll blame it on Reva :P Her Amish return ate up 33% of every episode for months, so you can't really have community scenes like people sitting around the Journal or diner talking about their day and lives. As much as I didn't really like Fletcher, I did always enjoy those scenes with Fletcher, Nick and Ben around the breakfast table at home just chatting about stuff. Now that I'm thinking about it, watching 1999, with Nola and Bridget both gone, Company and the boarding house are basically non-existent now, which is so sad (except one recent scene with David and Vicky - apparently he's still living at the boarding house, but it was quick and looked different). I guess Millennium took over as the new Company. I still find it so odd that so many prominent citizens of SF are holding business meetings and lunches/dinners at this nightclub LOL.
  9. Ohhh Willow and Sidwell teaming up? That's fun.
  10. Oh that ending was good! Really great Valentine's Day episode... had romance, eroticism, family, disappointment, flirtation... great stuff!
  11. Vanessa!!!! *clutches pearls* 🫣😜
  12. Haha yep, that was Matt/Vanessa's wedding. Nola's cooking got everyone sick with food poisoning and they had to put everyone's "rival" together in hospital rooms. Yep, Nola returned in August 1995 and this wedding was October 1995, right before Nadine died later that month.
  13. OMG they just pulled out Johnnie Cochran during Annie's trial??? LOL - first Rudy G and now Johnnie. I can't believe it 😂
  14. Appreciate those details, and you're right, I would feel like I'm missing out on certain things. And gosh, I hate that the Blake Marler YT channel is gone. Such a blow, and to see everyone's comments on the episodes gone is sad.
  15. Ohhh I would love that! The Vault has episodes from those years, but it's sporadic and not complete, but I may just go find an episode from Summer '90 and give it a peek. I'll keep that in mind with the June 1992 idea. I think starting Feb 1992 is when most, if not all, the episodes are there, so I might just start there too. And I love that. :)
  16. Ahh I forgot today's episode is a repeat. I turned it on and saw Doug and thought omg, he's back? And then realized haha...
  17. That's what I struggle with haha. I would love to start in 89 with Roger's return, but sadly the Vault where I watch these episodes doesn't have a full catalog until around mid-1992 or so. I really hate having to miss episodes so jumping around without seeing everything in order is hard for me. I am curious, @GL95 - are you watching the show and this period from the Vault or do you have a different place where you can view episodes? Are you missing certain episodes and does that bother you?
  18. Now THIS is the Vanessa I like haha. She looks fabulous in that purple dress with the longer hair. I didn't realize men used to wear formal gloves like Billy is during their wedding. Thanks for posting these :)
  19. Thank you! I remember hearing about Kat last year, so this makes sense. I can't wait to see that bachelor party episode you mentioned. And I should have caught myself re: Vanessa's outfits, I know you've told me before how she dresses, so it makes a lot of sense. To be honest, I need a Reva break haha, especially this current sanctimonious soccer mom version I'm currently watching. So technically most people found out Reva was alive when Alex walked into Josh and Annie's wedding and announced it because of the diner's grainy camera taping Reva and Buzz dancing. They couldn't believe it, but they eventually did and then at the ball, that's where Reva came out in her red dress and purposefully got into it with Josh in front of everyone.
  20. LOL - it drew me in so quickly! I have to confess, I had too much wine last night and it shows in my posts LOL. Oh well :) So I'm going to stick with my current 1999 viewing for now. I want to get to at least August - I want to see the remote location shoot and then see how Annie leaves the show. I know she leaves in July 1999, but I don't know how and am curious to at least end that story arc. Then I think it'll be time to go back to the early 90s, which I'm very excited about! I started watching GL last March of 2025, so I'm coming up on my one-year anniversary which is wild how much time flies! I bet by next month, I'll be to my goal of August 1999, which means I'll have watched Feb 1995 - August 1999 all within a year, with no fast forwarding or skipping episodes. Quite the accomplishment :)
  21. Ok, was watching other soap opera stuff and this came up as my next suggested video and wow... THIS is the Guiding Light I loved and want more of. 1995 has remnants of this vibe that I fell in love with. I think I'm having a midlife crisis where anything from the early/mid-90s makes me feel nostalgic haha, but honestly this is what I can't wait to see more of. This episode gave me the community vibe I love from Springfield. Ed and Maureen wanting to go to Hamp's to watch the Super Bowl (or maybe some other important game)! Watching Hamp in a scene where he isn't reduced to playing a saxophone is amazing. I don't know who the lady he's with is, but it's cute. Then my favorite scene of the episode - Hamp, Ed, Ross, Fletcher and Billy watching the football game together. These are scenes I want to see more of. Bonding, friendship and realistic stuff. Seeing Holly and Roger flirt at the diner - omg! This is the couple I love. Fletcher - no. Then Lillian came in and David talked to her, aww. I could easily see Roger helping a crazy Holly during her child kidnapping days. Eleni actually having a life and personality, and seeing Alan-Michael with her, I'm already in love with these two and their dark hair together haha. Honestly Rick Hearst could get it when he was that young. This episode alone makes me realize the recast Eleni was nothing in the eyes of TPTB. This is wild seeing Eleni, Blake, Maureen and little Michelle dancing together and being friends. You don't see Michelle, Eleni or Blake ever interacting in 1995, just 2.5 years later. Ugh. This Mallet guy is hot... and honestly Beth Ehlers aged very well. Most importantly, @P.J. - Henry calling Jenna "Jen", and treating her like a daughter. Vanessa, looking way too overdressed, seeming way too upset with Henry's feelings for Jenna haha. Gosh I miss Henry, what a sweet man. Oh and this is when Billy was there... Ohh and a note that Lillian left Ed! No Reva. No Josh. And I loved this episode. GL was and could have been GL without them.
  22. @P.J. - how can you hate this man?!? 😜
  23. You're welcome! I was happy to finally find time to watch this, because this storyline was so important to me as a young kid. After watching it, I felt like Chris was very supportive of it and the political talk towards the end was so reminiscent of what I live in today. I don't want to get political, but Chris surprised me and I was appreciative of his thoughts. Wilson really impressed me. He was so prepared, articulate and compassionate. He seems way younger than he should be haha. AMC in this era was really quite entertaining and informative. I love that show :)
  24. I'm finally watching this tonight and here are my running thoughts: I hate to dog on someone, but Alan Locher just drives me crazy. He messes up the intro, he doesn't pay attention because he's clicking around on his computer and his eyes are going all over the computer screen. It just takes away from the interview. I also wonder if he ever really watched non-CBS shows. He eventually got better, but anyway, I started watching only Rodney's camera and it made it much better. Rodney was so prepared and articulate and I'm so happy he was here to give his story. I loved to hear that his family was a fan of OLTL and GH back in the 60s. And that's where I get conflicted, because I love that Alan is able to get these interviews for us, so I'd rather have this than nothing at all. Ok, rant over... this was amazing and I'm so happy to see that 30 years later, this is important and people remember. I'll never forget watching this story as a 12-year old boy and thinking holy crap... I loved Chris Bruno, but I hate the fact that he took this interview in a parking lot, looking like a guido gym rat. He gives me Frank Grillo (Hart, GL) vibes. He did take it seriously once he found a stable spot, so I'm glad he made the best of the situation. His story about his dad and trans people was very sweet... Interesting that he remembered Dixie's name and how he was originally going to be her love interest. Wow, he still stays in touch with the old Scott Chandler, Timmy Dillon, Anita Santos... and then he's the Godfather of Mark and Kelly's firstborn?!?! That is wild, I love it. I love how Chris seemed so proud and happy to hear that AMC won the Emmy for Best Writing for this storyline. Ok I forgive, sorta, Chris for taking this interview from a parking lot on his phone only because he actually loved this and was so happy about this. And wow, Rodney is still a teacher in rural Missouri, which is where I grew up and where my family still lives. I wonder where in MO he is, I'd love to meet him one day. His confidence and overall demeanor was actually quite attractive, which personally I'm surprising myself. And they even brought up the AMC revival! Hahaha... I'd love to hear @EricMontreal22's thoughts on this interview... hope you're still around!
  25. 😂😂😂 Still looking forward to that day in the far away future to determine whether this painting portal is more silly than the clone storyline or not.
