I was about to come in here and ask about Gio's violin and why that was so triggering for everyone, but they gave us a flashback :) Loved that he played it, and loved everyone's expressions/reactions, especially BLQ's. I've only been watching for ~4 months,, which hasn't had much of Ava, but when they do, it's clear she's very close to Trina. What's that quick background between the two and why is she attached to her? I loved seeing Cody watching the Christmas movie with the girls. I'm loving the Cody/Molly story!

That's awesome - happy to know :) I loved Cynthia's Annie, such a great performance. I also loved Abby's journey and her relationship with Rick, although it's taken a huge backseat (along with Abby generally) in the last half of 1998, which has been sad for me to see. I'm excited to see Brittany Snow and Bomer!

Very nice! I bet, I love watching prequels to see what happens to get the characters to where they are today, or later in life, and who they end up being through their experiences and relationships. Curious - what were your favorite stories and characters throughout the 90s/00s when you watched? And welcome to the board :)

Catching up and have to say how wonderful Christmas was at BTG! Great first year Christmas, kudos to the soap! :) Thankfully the very obvious, fake Vernon/Sharon affair is over... loved that ending with Vernon singing to Anita. Gosh January might be hard while we watch her battle cancer, with family supporting her. Watching Nicole and Dani break down in next week's previews - so emotional!

OMG - someone who has a GL journey that starts in the same timeframe :) I also really loved A-M and Lucy's growing attraction and ultimate relationship. Did you stay with it yearly after that or did you stop at some point? I will someday soon go back and watch the early 90s leading up to 1995 :)

Go GL!!! Love that they won. Do we know if they beat B&B afterwards? Thanks for posting :) I think Frank is definitely an 8 :P Gosh seeing those characters really make me miss Gilly and Bridget. I didn't get to see Monty as David Grant, but really want to. Wild to me how popular Eleni was back then before the recast. Eleni sticks around for several years but the recast was never given a true storyline sadly.

Apologies if this has already been discussed and I missed it, but how far in advance does GH tape their episodes?

I loved the Portia confession on the stand! That’s good soap opera and I felt so bad for her and Trina. Loved watching MEK today. He was giving me Tad Martin vibes with his facial expressions when Tracy was talking to Laura. I love the guy! I’m really enjoying this show :)

Wow at B&B dropping so much and GH going up so much. I have to say that GH is really entertaining for me, so happy to see it.

I was so happy! I didn't really like how she left, almost like she was abandoned by the family and left town overnight in shame. It was a shock to see her back, and I'm enjoying it! So my first experience seeing Dusay on screen was when she joined AMC. I was in high school and thought her character was so fun and wacky and different. It made me an instant fan of Dusay. So I have to say I enjoyed her on AMC more, but it's a joy to see her anywhere. Given that Vincent's role on AMC as Dr. David Hayward was more of a grey villain, I preferred his AMC character over Nick on GL. So, their mother/son relationship on AMC was more juicy and interesting overall. I wouldn't say Vanessa was an out and out villain until she was revealed to be Proteus, and then from there she was a villain in her final months. I just got introduced to India for the first time! Recaps coming, but she seems interesting so far. I don't know much about her character's history from the past in the 80s, so it'll be fun to get to know her now.

Just watched yesterday's episode and liked it! Gosh, I feel so bad for Anita. How emotional. And if Sharon is really having an affair with Vernon, and pretending to care for Anita now with cancer, I'll be so upset with her haha. Naomi can kick rocks. What a selfish B. I love how Christmas-y it all is though!

Ahh interesting! I was a senior in high school during 9/11, and while super impactful regardless, I had never been to NYC by that point (I've been several times since as an adult). But I guess I didn't realize how big/popular and supportive he was during that time. Only Bush comes to mind, as I was in the Midwest at the time. I just did a quick research and it seems like he left office 12/31 that same year, so was only the Mayor during the first ~4 months of 9/11 aftermath. Like I said, I've heard that he was popular and turned NYC around, but his last ~15 years has been so cringe (the Borat movie taking the cake haha). Speaking of Rudy officiating the wedding... I was SO shocked to see Marj Dusay show up as Alex! I didn't think I'd see her again for a long time, as I assumed she didn't come back to GL before starting on AMC. I love having her back, if only for a short period of time. What a great surprise :)

So agree with this! I really loved yesterday's episode - more classic soap opera with Christmas feels.

LOL - thankfully that only lasted a single episode. Super random. But Blake/Rick/Ross and their babies had a great, interesting storyline. I guess I can't hate on it honestly - it was interesting and different. Maybe the only issue was that Blake lied HARD about this and then again later, immediately about Ben. If I were Ross, I would have left Blake many times over, if this were real life haha. WHOA. Recaps coming later, but y'all - do we really have Rudy Giuliani marrying Phillip and Harley?? I'm sure this was a score for the show back in the day, for New Yorkers especially, but wow did this not age well. I'm not a New Yorker, so I don't want to take anything away from what I didn't live, but as an outsider now, wow he's an ultimate cringe greaser, sadly.
