  1. I just listened to the first episode and generally loved it! I'm a huge Budig fan, but never knew much about Greg R (I haven't watched his shows while he's been on). They have a great friendship and giggly rapport which is endearing. I never watched Y&R, and I'll probably get lambasted for this because I know EB is daytime royalty, but he didn't have much of a sense of humor. He seemed to take himself too seriously, but maybe it's an age thing. It's probably just me. Love that we have this podcast though. It was great hearing their experiences on past soaps, doing soap trivia, would you rather questions about their characters and others, etc. It was fun!
  2. Ahh interesting! I didn't realize that, but it makes sense. It's interesting though, because right after her last credited episode, her two big umbrella storylines that ate up most of 1996 just finally abruptly ended (5th Street/A. Spaulding; Lonatrat), so I just assumed the new writers took charge and started their own stories, but you're right, there's likely a transition period there.
  3. 100% - that's what I was thinking. It was really confusing when she got back from Goshen too. She and Alan lived in a house together (not Spaulding Mansion), then she moved in with Buzz when they owned the diner, and now she's in a different house, or maybe it's the same one she had with Alan but it looks different. I guess we're just meant to 'go with it' 😂
  4. Totally agree! Great episode today, very soapy and catty.
  5. Ohhh this back and forth with Nicole and Leslie is so juicy. I can't believe the DNA on her booty dress comment. I would be seething if I were Nicole.
  6. Agree! And tangentially, I've been thinking about this for a while now as I watch GL... how in the heck does Reva make enough money to have her nice house, nice clothes and support her kids? She returned to Springfield after being with the Amish, where she had no money, and worked at the diner with Buzz for minimum wage (assumption), and now that she left the diner, she really has no job. She's jet setting around the world looking for her long lost sister. Outside of this being a soap, so suspend your disbelief, I just don't get it haha.
  7. LOL at Derek practically laughing when he walks up to Ashley and Shanice fighting. He's reveling in two girls fighting over him. LOL at Shanice looking at Derek's butt while 'diagnosing' him. 😂 I love seeing Ashley squirm.
  8. LOL!!! I agree - this is Ted's fault - he needs to back off.
  9. It was the writing team after McTavish left. She left in October 1996 and Van tells Roger about the folder in Switzerland in January 1997, which was the first we hear about that secret. That then connects Roger to Amanda...
  10. Ahh, that's a bummer to hear They need to give her some meaty stuff.
  11. Haha I have no idea as I don't watch Y&R, but my biased self in this situation wants her to have an Emmy for how much I loved her on AMC. Crazy Annie was amazing. I also love Eileen and wish her luck too!
  12. Where is B&B? Ouch! I don't watch any of these shows anymore, but man I love me some Melissa Claire Egan and hope she has a chance.
  13. Nice! Happy to hear it. I get the life thing, with the holiday and traveling, I couldn't watch for a week or so. It was fun being able to jump back in last night.
  14. I LOL'ed at that line too 😂
  15. 100% agree with this! Also, this may be the most awkward first date ever LOL.
  16. Martin is going off the deep end! Not knowing his kids aren't in school right now? I continue to love JDB's dialogue for the kids though.
  17. @Ryanc2 - curious, are you still watching GL 1999? Still enjoying it?
  18. When Dani brings her Joker smile, you know she's about to go crazy on someone.
  19. Yeah, I think the OC has been on Thursdays before, but also sometimes Tues/Wed. I remember the last couple of OG NYC seasons were on Thursday, after Top Chef, which I loved bc I loved both of those shows. I don't really care what night of the week each show is on since I watch all the Bravo shows, but Thursday is usually harder to get a bigger rating generally. LOL you summed it up perfectly. Apparently the rumor is there was an original cast at first, but then Bravo wanted more Housewives kids so they brought in Ariana and Gia, which pissed off the original cast members, with 1-2 of them leaving completely and then the bisexual guy stayed as a friend. But you're right, Emira wasn't even in like 2 full episodes, it's weird.
  20. I know, it feels like Harley was an important character to know. Although I have to say, BE left a bitter taste in my mouth after her AMC run, so we'll see if I can stomach Harley when she returns full-time. That's shocking to me about Tylo. His appearance was pretty short/minor during it all, which I think was his first back since Josh Taylor took over. I wonder what happened? He must have upset someone if they didn't even allow Nola or J to talk about him.
  21. Ahhh ok - thank you! I do vaguely remember a Hope mention perhaps in their one scene together. I'll have to go back and watch again. I don't remember Mike and Alan-Michael having any interaction though, which would have been odd. Although nuAlan-Michael, who is on his way out, probably wouldn't have pulled at any old fan heartstrings at that point. Hearst in the role, yes.
  22. Can't wait to listen! I noticed they advertised it in a banner during today's BTG episode. I wonder if that means the network is helping to fund it, which would be interesting and positive for soaps!
  23. I’m up to January 31, 1997. The 60th Anniversary Ball was nice overall. LOL at the cast doing the Macarena, especially Billy. Michael O’Leary is always a hoot during these cast scenes. I did find it slightly odd that a handful of non-contract characters had a lot of airtime: Annie’s fertility doctor, Fran; Jean-Luc and other Parisian friends of Dinah; and Jenna’s husband/crime partner. It moved storylines, so I’m ok with it, but just odd for a big event like this. And then half the cast left the party early to help Zachary, who went out to the water to help strangers in need. I’m glad they were able to get back in time for Vanessa’s tribute, which was short but sweet. It was heartbreaking to watch Michelle grieve over the loss of her first love, Zachary. Budig is such a great actress, even in her early days. It was pretty crappy of Zachary to make her think he died though. Taking a page out of Vanessa’s book haha. But our last scene with Zachary was in Meta’s dream (or was it…), where Zachary says goodbye to a sleeping Michelle. I’ll miss Zachary, even though I didn’t love that he was supernatural. Mike Bauer returned, which I think they said is Ed’s brother. He clearly doesn’t get along with Alan, but overall wasn’t really used much in this return. Harley and Josh had a talk, where she tells him he broke her heart. Seconds later, she says he’s always been a good guy. Ok… haha. Harley also keeps apologizing about missing everything - Nadine’s funeral, A-M/Lucy’s wedding, etc - but the one reason that finally got her back to town to see her family was to catch a thief (Jenna)? Yikes. But, I do like how it’s tied to something happening, even if it didn’t amount to anything since Jenna didn’t steal anything in the end. I also liked Reva and Harley’s chat about Josh and their history; they apologized to each other and it was quite adult of them both. Oh, so Alan knew Jenna was pregnant and always assumed it was Buzz’s. And now Alan is interested in Annie and just offered her a job being his private nurse, interesting. And of course right after Josh and Reva kiss at the lighthouse and return to the party, Annie tells him she’s taking the job and he freaks out. Zaslow’s speech is really noticeable later in the party, so sad. Post-Ball, Rick just asked Abby to marry him, which was very sweet, but really quick too. Now that Blake Marler’s YouTube site was taken down, I sure hope I can keep watching GL on the SON Vault. Fingers crossed…
