  1. 👍 Now back to the (formerly) continuing story of Another World. 😀
  2. How is it unfair? He wrote the birth of Amanda so therefore he is the original creator of the character. Sure subsequent writers developed her personality and in some cases changed it.
  3. Lemay created more characters. They are listed by year of introduction on The Another World Homepage. ANOTHER WORLD: ANNUAL STATUS CHARTS
  4. “But I was also taught a great lesson the first month I was at ANOTHER WORLD by Connie Ford, who played Ada. I had written a final tag speech in one of the crucial scenes. And when I got to the rehearsal, Connie cut the entire speech and did just one line from it. Now she was a wonderful actress, a very laconic actress, and didn’t need a lot of language. And I realized something: you write to what the actor does. And I never overwrote a scene for her again.” I would consider this changing her lines. He wrote to what the actor does unless he did not like the actor. We Love Soaps: Harding Lemay Interview: Part Two
  5. Harding Lemay makes it quite clear in Eight Years in Another World and in interviews that he did not respect Dwyer and Courtney’s talent. They were “soap” actors and he preferred stage actors. He was more than fine with Constance Ford changing Ada’s lines but was insulted when Dwyer did it. I loved Lemay’s Another World but so many of his new characters only lasted 1-2 years. In my opinion getting rid of Courtney and Dwyer were the biggest blunders in the shows history. And there were many blunders.
  6. Just like with Chad there is no reason to recast Javi. Both characters should be rested for a while. The writers should be using these openings in the cast to bring on Hortons, Bradys and Carvers.
  7. Is the head writer information on The Another World Homepage or Somerset Register correct http://anotherworldhomepage.com/spinoffs.html https://web.archive.org/web/20130724045214/http://awinsomerset.com/production-credts.html
  8. I love Deidre Hall. But I felt she was a bit dismissive and cold towards Rebecca Budig. Did anyone else notice this? I may have read the vibe incorrectly.
  9. Ken Corday was not the Executive Producer when Renee was killed. That would have been Betty Corday and Al Rabin.
  10. Great idea.
  11. Yes! Jeremy’s return is long overdue.
  12. Please be Jeremy Horton!
  13. I just watched Gretchen Oehler's (Vivien) first episode. She immediately brought a much needed spark of energy and humour to Texas. Jim Poyner and Beverlee lit up in their reunions with her. Vivien and Paige instantly disliking each other was hilarious. This show is finally really good. I am not looking forward to the big changes that will soon happen with the exit of the Corringtons.
  14. Agree with all of this!
  15. I was really hoping we would get a break from Chad and the dominance of the DiMera's. I like Conner Floyd but he should be playing Jeremy Horton not Chad.
  16. AW 1977 - Burt McGowan arriving at Ada’s house to tell her Gil had died. AW 1977-78 - I have flashes of the Sven Peterson story. He killed Rocky Olsen and I believe young Denis and Jamie found his body. Maybe in the boathouse. Sven then kidnapped Rachel and kept her captive in a building on the Cory property I think. I was 5 years old and the story was terrifying. The next time I saw Roberts Blossom (Sven) onscreen was as Kevin ‘s scary neighbour in Home Alone. He played scary very well.
  17. Completely agree. This is a huge blunder. At least I now have an extra hour in my day. I have watched my last episode for a while at least.
  18. I thought Sorel left because she was disgusted with the Dobson’s writing Augusta fantasizing about her sister’s rapist. The assumption is that she is speaking about Rauch here? We Love Soaps: One of the things that has been hard for me as a soap viewer over the past decade or so is to constantly see these decisions being made that we don’t agree with. Louise Sorel: You just don’t know what’s going on. A lot of politicking. In my case, [pause] I know what the reason was. Let’s say it was not a professional reason. And I don’t respect that. If you really come to blows with somebody, and they’re doing awful things then that’s whatever. But this had nothing to do with the show.
  19. I am not sure if Chris refused to play a recast Willis which was the original plan but he did say he preferred to play a new character so they created Jason for him.
  20. Denise Alexander was very clear that she quit Another World because she was tired of the commute from LA her home and NYC. She also praised Victoria Wyndham and Linda Dano as the lead actresses of the show in her exit interview.
  21. I really enjoyed the first half of season 9. It was dark but Emma, Angela, Lance and Richard were front and center. Pilar and Frank were finally interesting. Charley, Michael and Genele came in and caused a lot of drama. It was even sexier. I also liked the new into theme music. Then the second half of the season went to hell.
  22. Scroll to page 2 and there it is.
  23. There already is a Flamingo Road thread.
