Oh, for God's sake. You guys need to fuckin' chill. Every election year, every year, the red states come in early and give the Republican an early lead and then the rest of the country turns up to go blue, and for eight years they've gotten wiped out. Hillary is up in Florida. If she takes that and NC it is over. If she takes Ohio it is a landslide.

I'm going right now. But before I go, a Nevada judge smacks down the Trump team's attempt to challenge early voting. From the Bushes:

Major Season 7 spoilers have (allegedly) leaked online, outlining what looks to be much of the plot of next year. I have not read them. Much.

Melrose Place
I remember thinking the slow disintegration of Amanda and Kyle's always-ill-advised relationship was very well-done, not unlike the collapse of Amanda and Peter's marriage in Season 5. I was waiting forever for them to reunite Amanda and Peter and it got a little rushed at the end of S7, but I was still very happy. The insta-Jane/Kyle romance at the end of the series was very fast, but really worked for me. That was also where they fast-pedaled the tail end of Amanda and Kyle's break-up, actually, but it had been so well set up prior to that.

It's definitely a good start. I'm honestly not sure who pays those people. I don't think Trump does, as he historically avoids paying any and all as much as possible (he even stiffed his pollster). But since you mentioned them, this video will be instructive (wait for Giuliani):

They weren't very sane in the last two elections either. I think at heart most of them are cowards. I do not expect armed insurrection. Meanwhile: Dixville Notch, the first place in the country to vote, a tiny little town of a handful of people, casts 4 votes for Hillary, 2 for Trump, 1 for Johnson and 1 for - wait for it - Mitt Romney.

You'll likely know in a little less than 24 hours. It is easily the most dangerous and important election of my life, and I survived the Bush years. But no, I do not think it will be close and I am not very worried. I haven't been much all along, really. But we know the world is watching, and I think most of us are very ready to put this behind us.

Right here. Almost as funny: Poor Michael Steele, left as one of a relative few rational Republicans in 2016 a la Nicolle Wallace and Steve Schmidt, goofin' on MSNBC's panel right now. When the anchor worries about "shading on his kumbaya" for the night, Steele holds up a mug full of liquid and says "shade all you want with what I got in this cup!" Good times. I've become fond of Steele in his own way.

Melrose Place
IIRC I found the back end of the disastrous Season 6 - the "Summer of Love" episodes - much stronger than the rest of the year. They dramatically reconceived the Lexi character practically overnight and Jamie Luner shone in the new role. The one thing I really didn't care for was the introduction of the Alison thread - establishing she was a struggling alcoholic off the wagon in Atlanta - only to drop it altogether. That was unconscionable. Billy should've gone back to Alison, but I did like him with Jennifer at least. If they did actually take time off to retool the show, as it seemed at the time, I'm impressed. I do think Season 7 was a major improvement and much stronger than 90210 at that point. It wasn't perfect, but the returned, stronger, smarter Jane had great chemistry and interplay with Michael. I actually loved them together and while I loved him with Lexi too I wish they hadn't ended things with Jane so soon.

If there is they have to find the balls to fight for it. Despite learning the same lesson three elections running they still can't kick the habit of being obsessed with short term wins. They're addicted to those and therefore unable to accept or expunge their racist base. Unless they're prepared to lose some elections for at least 4-8 years - and I mean more than the presidency - they'll never recover.

I think Beck is likely a savvy operator looking for a new angle now that the Blaze is going under. Arianna Huffington also changed her spots. That being said, he has been consistently anti-Trump. When his beloved Ted Cruz betrayed him, Beck's rhetoric turned increasingly sympathetic and reasonable towards the Obamas, and very very slowly perhaps towards Hillary now. I don't trust him and I think he holds a share of responsibility in creating the Trumpist white supremacist movement. If Lee Atwater or George Wallace can repent then I am potentially willing to believe Beck, someday, not yet. I think he's looking out for his bottom line. But I have found myself stunned to hear him giving reasonable commentary in recent media appearances. If it is his new act he's good at it.

Jane is right: This election and the last few have made a mockery of Beltway wisdom. The world has changed. When you have (only a few) white pundits wondering aloud if the big Latino turnout in NV could break for Trump, that's media from another world. Joe and Mika are still at it somehow trying to claim the Comey reversal is bad news for Hillary and Trump can win, but who believes them? Not even their increasingly rebellious panel of regulars. And watching Brian Williams make Mark Halperin eat shìt as Nicolle Wallace and Steve Schmidt watched with glee - I never thought I'd see that. Politico waves the white flag.

It must be said that Kate McKinnon's Hillary is also pretty great, and apparently enjoyed by the candidate who has appeared with her more than once. There was a supplement to Tom Shales' excellent SNL oral history Live From New York a couple years back which featured several cast members complaining about the weak/center right tilt the show's politics had taken in the 2000s. I think it's improved considerably since the Bush years and many of the performers are great, but I think most of the political sketches remain toothless and silly so Lorne can stay in good social standing. That being said, most of the players and writers in the McKinnon/Baldwin sketches make it crystal clear what they think of Trump. They've been great.
