  1. IIRC Maggie Vega may have been an abortive attempt at a love interest for Andrew. She obviously did not come off. I always found her bizarre. I believe there was another "Antonio Vega" character on the casting books in the early years, but he didn't materialize. Then in '94 or '95 we got the real Antonio. Thanks for this.
  2. We're just posting angry fan videos?
  3. I've been there. Thought some folks might appreciate this:
  4. Guess who's trending? Twitter ain't happy.
  5. That's a quote from a BTS video, people. He was laughing and joking around.
  6. That's really not the take I had on today. Just to name one example, MSNBC broke into the hearings just to call Barr a liar. IMO when the media smells blood that trumps most things, and they do here; while they were easily snowed by Barr a few weeks ago, that was a few weeks ago. Things have changed rapidly - they don't want to move on and they're not saying the public does. They are covering the open calls for Barr's resignation and/or impeachment. This is yet another fiery shitshow for Trump.
  7. Fuckin' nerd!
  8. As they said last week, Bran/the Three Eyed Raven houses the collective memory of human history. If that was destroyed, the White Walkers could've annihilated the human race without a trace for good this time. Whether there's more to Bran's vision and plans - and I think there is, as we haven't seen where he warged to all this week - remains to be seen. They're gonna renew those vows before this is all over, if only because it's good Westerosi business and they get along. Just saying!
  9. LMAO
  10. Meanwhile, I'm just waiting for folks to come to terms with the fact that Daenerys is the final villain of GOT, and that it's been quietly set up for years in various story turns - especially last year, when she touched down in Westeros and proceeded to burn all who would not bend the knee, including House Tarly. Just like her ancestors. Everything Sansa says about her is right, and worse. Daenerys claims to want to 'break the wheel' of rich and poor, but the only true way to do that is to destroy the Iron Throne and the endless quest for power in Westeros. Daenerys' fatal flaw is that she can't allow that; she must have the throne, it's what she was raised for, it is her defining identity. When push comes to shove she will turn on all her allies and friends and become the Mad Queen. That's why the final battle in GOT will be messy and ugly and between characters we know and love, like Jon vs. Daenerys - not everyone vs. the Night King and his unambiguously evil zombie horde. It'll piss a lot of people off, but I think it's very true to the spirit of the story.
  11. Forgot to add: As someone who was a big fan of the siege of Winterfell plotline in S2, I was glad Bran got to be the one to give his last absolution. There was no way that character was walking out of there alive and he knew that going in, but he needed that and as Bran is a favorite of mine I was glad they remembered that beat even as they (and Isaac Hempstead Wright in interviews) keep hammering that Bran is barely Bran anymore.
  12. I called a few deaths but not many. I was shocked by who pulled the trigger at the end. I was not expecting that, but it worked. I have no idea what Bran was doing that whole time - I kept thinking he had to be either warging the Night King to get him where he wanted him, or he had to be secretly part of the NK the whole time. I hope we'll find out. Starting to think between this week and the first two eps they will legit re-pair Tyrion/Sansa in the end, at least as a marriage of convenience. tbh I'd be fine with it.
  13. I owned the bible and they did not, lol.
  14. Uh-oh! My mother was there, and this is how white str8 male organizers essentially behaved during the antiwar movement when Bernie came of age. Women shut up, black people were ancillary, the gays were beneath concern - it was always about the passionate, virile white guy with the megaphone who, if you really understood his rap, would sleep with you. That paradigm has not changed much on the far left for fifty years. When it began to in 2008 and a black guy took over the party and didn't listen to them, most of the latest generation of passionate white guys (Matt Taibbi, Greenwald, Scahill, etc.) proceeded to lose their fuckíng minds. Then, they began to do what a lot of their predecessors had done in the 70s and 80s - drift towards the enclaves of the right or right-adjacent or at least sympathetic, spaces where their voices are still heard first and loudest. The history of our ego is cyclical. Now, is Bernie those guys? Not exactly. I believe he means well. I also believe he's ultimately very privileged and self-absorbed. Take away a microphone and funds from him now, after he's had more than he dreamed, and I will wager $100 he will be on Fox in five years.
  15. Iain Glen is the aged Bruce Wayne/Batman of DC's streaming Titans series.
  16. This is cute:
  17. On the one hand, no, I can't really take much of Morning Joe. OTOH this is a pretty inspired on-air response to Trump's latest ragetweets:
