  1. The entire report was about what I expected.
  2. I don't watch random clickbait videos. But based on its title, It's also wrong. He's credited this week.
  3. Stay through the credits this week again. An incredible episode, with some deep cuts and largely visual/thematic ties to the controversial but gripping and very influential John Byrne Avengers West Coast run - Unlike Byrne though, who ultimately destroyed the couple and their family while pursuing an editorially-aborted remake of his Dark Phoenix/Days of Future Past storylines from X-Men with Wanda in the key role, I don't think this story will be doing that. I had a feeling this would be coming, but the fateful silhouette Wanda saw in the light during her Infinity Gem encounter - complete with the famous horned cowl we saw hinted at two weeks ago - and the ending line made me gasp nonetheless. Elizabeth Olsen's place in the Marvel canon in recent years has often overshadowed the beginning of her career as a very powerful dramatic actress. Her work in Sean Durkin's Martha Marcy May Marlene is incredibly good and made her an in-demand young star. This episode should hopefully educate more people. Kathryn Hahn is equally great and always has been.
  4. I could swear some clips of the DJ crib death story used to be online.
  5. Apologies if this has been posted:
  6. He died of crib death/SIDS a few months later. Famous story.
  7. We are a long way from finishing the fight to kill the filibuster if it happens, and the minimum wage push will continue (though we'll need to pressure Manchin and Sinema more in order to pass it one way or the other). But Beltway press are pretty desperate to manufacture drama within the Dems and the WH now because they don't like seeing the GOP on the back foot. They're not used to it, it's not where they live when they rush around getting hot tips from Mitch McConnell in the halls of the Capitol, and it makes them insecure. There's also the whole Tanden/Seung Min Kim debacle as @DRW50 alluded to above. Online harassment of Kim is unconscionable and unacceptable no matter who's doing it. And Tanden has lived Very Online and should account for some of that. That being said, a lot of reporters, not just Kim, pushed to drum up discontent in that process (digging up years old tweets) and churn the waters in part due to their resentment at Tanden being critical of the Capitol Hill press, and it has been evident in how they've handled the story today. It's not dissimilar to how if you read Maggie Haberman's feed, as a NY press flack, you'd think absolutely everyone on Earth is obsessed with de Blasio and Cuomo. I am an ex-NYer but I do not give two [!@#$%^&*] about Andrew Cuomo. Politico has seemed especially trashy and desperate since a lot of their people (Jake Sherman, Bresnahan, etc.) left to create the equally gossipy Punchbowl - after that came the new mission statement about 'making mischief' right on the heels of the Capitol siege. Here, their Republican roots are showing even more. This is just not in touch with actual reality and sentiment in the eyes of the public, it's Beltway GOP-loving fanfiction. And it doesn't connect with voters or show in polling.
  8. Cracks in Chuck's facade after weeks/months of full force criticism on social media.
  9. Exactly. You can bank that she is back if this show happens. And you can bank that they will do a PR blitz with her and Susan making nice. I have always appreciated Sarah's steadfast and vocal support of the soaps and AMC, but she has owed Susan an apology for those shenanigans for a long time.
  10. I thought Alicia did a great job and made the role her own and popular with her in it. She had big shoes to fill and she made it work. But SMG is gonna be Kendall again, period. No doubt about it. She was a force, iconic in the public consciousness in a way Alicia can't touch. While I'll always appreciate and honor AM, SMG is 100% going to be cemented as Kendall again and that is surreal to realize after all this time.
  11. What in the hell is the "Mystery of Cobbler's Island"?
  12. Meanwhile:
  13. Toussaint is one of those parts of the TV and film firmament - you see them everywhere yet they rarely get their regard. I'd seen her onscreen through most of my childhood but her recent run on She-Ra as the villain Shadow Weaver was benchmark work even as 'just' a voice performer. I'm glad she has a new perch on Queen's show.
  14. Jerry Douglas was so suave, commanding, handsome, noble and authoritative and yes, sexy. Cutting John as the patriarch was one of the dumbest decisions this show ever made.
