I find this more than a little self-congratulatory and whitewash-y considering it features Haberman and Nuzzi, but there are many hardworking women journalists who are featured here:- The Politics Thread

I think Liza's first year back was flawless, and I had no clue who she was at the time beyond being an old character with a long history with Tad. She was gangbusters. It was everything after that - including some of the relationship with Adam, though I haven't seen their initial courtship in aeons - that sucked IMO. She was tired before the end of the millennium, and she didn't have to be.- The Politics Thread

I thought Agnes was behind bringing on the Hubbards and that this was all her. I had no idea Taggert/Guza were still in place or that they wanted Angie with Trucker. Wild.- The Politics Thread
- ALL: You couldn’t imagine THEM playing THAT story
This is a weird one for me. On the one hand, I have a hard time imagining Andrea Evans playing Tina on OLTL during many of her '90s stories during the more grounded Linda Gottlieb era, and I think Karen Witter fused much of Evans' energy with something more suited to the 90s. OTOH, time has shown us Andrea had great chemistry with Christopher Cousins' Cain when she returned in the 2000s. Further, Andrea's real persona offscreen is different; you see her in her rare interviews and her voice is deeper and she's a much less flighty individual than Tina. She can be serious and she can do grounded drama, as we know from Y&R. So do I think Andrea could've played the stories with, say, Cain or the social issue stuff with Luna as her BFF, yes. But do I think the Tina they often wrote for in her heyday would be suited for it? That I don't know. I think she would've struggled with the David Vickers mess.- ALL: Characters obviously developed to “replace” popular departed characters
The unwatchably bad Tobias Truvillion was intended to replace R.J. on OLTL, playing mobster Vincent Jones. Sean Ringgold came on as his muscle, creatively named "Shaun". There was even a tacky handoff scene in which R.J. met Vincent and approved of him. But as Tim Stickney (R.J.) noted in the OLTL oral history when discussing Vincent replacing R.J., "not all actors work hard" and Vincent vanished quickly, leaving Shaun behind.- Loving/The City Discussion Thread
