  1. @DRW50 Scott Evans (Oliver Fish, OLTL) is appearing in the new Amazon show from Gloria Calderon Kellett, co-creator of Netflix's late, beloved One Day at a Time:
  2. It is obscene that the Trina frame-up nonsense has been going since March lol. It is clear the writing is there for Spencer and Trina, but I don't trust Frank Valentini when it comes to non-white characters, ever. He still operates from a mindset of 'don't upset the white grandmas' from 2010. I feel like they've strung this out for as long as humanly possible as he struggles to find any way to put the Black girl with someone else and find another white chick for Spencer. I hope I'm wrong. Either way, TA remains gold as she's been since her first day.
  3. Never liked her, never will. Bye.
  4. I agree. It's sad, and he was underrated and excellent on the show in some rough years even/especially as Carly's man and the father to her sons, the only place in the canvas post-Brenda that suited him at all for a time. Now I just don't need to see him ever again, which is a pity for Jax who I still felt had a bit more to offer in the right role.
  5. Rena has never really lacked for primetime work.
  6. How did anyone in this country get politically radicalized or go full MAGA? It's been a long time since the cuddly joint Jaxis interviews. Sad, but that happens.
  7. I liked Billy in the role a lot, but Sean Kanan is still the man for me. Though I believe he may still be busy on Cobra Kai atm.
  8. Probably at least a little of both of the above.
  9. I cannot believe B&B let her go. They've been dining out on her talent for years. That show keeps great actors locked up doing total crap for aeons because they have more money and global pull than probably any show left, and the actors seem fine with it; I don't think they'll ever let Heather Tom go, nor do I think she wants to. I seriously doubt Frank V. will spring for RS who is used to real budget and usage. There's also the Wally Kurth issue, and I assume they're in a good place these days but that would likely be sensitive to deal with onscreen. But yes, Lois should be back. Lisa Lo Cicero should be playing Lois, she basically is as Olivia (who has made Lois redundant, sadly), but with Rena free, sure. Figure something out. (They won't, and they'll have no idea how to write for her.)
  10. I'm sure something quiet was finally done after Ingo spoke out, and fans had been vocal too at the time. But the fact that it was allowed to go on at GH events at all, and then written into the scripts, should've led to firings. Again, typical daytime.
  11. They also basically wrote the juice into the show at one point with Jason, Spinelli and Claudia cured by some magic acai berry juice, IIRC. The entire affair should've gotten Steve fired for good and the production team and EP censured for enabling his scam. It was so corrupt and transparent, and a classic example of how insular and marginal daytime is as an industry. If that shít went down on primetime the actor would've been fired and the show would've been disciplined so fast it would feel like time travel. But because it was daytime no one in higher power knew or cared until the hand was beyond forced, possibly by Ingo's comments, and either way no one was ever fired and no discipline was ever made public.
  12. Which he sure ain't getting a ton of on DOOL with that shooting schedule and those scripts.
  13. Fetterman is skilled at what he does locally and useful for the party. That's as far as I go with him until other distasteful shít related to him ceases. I'm not enamored either, but I could care less about most of what he does atm so long as he wins and votes our way. Meanwhile, another person who should have been fired long ago:
  14. I've always loved Emily Bergl. That's a beautiful tribute.
  15. The Claudia story was a massive umbrella and they plotted it well, whatever people thought of the content. It had many huge phases. This is just busy work.
  16. Whatever her personal curiosity as an actor, I don't believe MM wouldn't have played Hilary if they'd written it. They gave her a boring twin to neutralize the audience investment in a Black female lead and I said so from the jump.
  17. Ron's ego is still coasting on the critical high praise he had at OLTL and from helping to save GH. There were huge issues at both shows that emerged over time, but the soap press/emerging online sphere had so few good things to talk about in those desperate years (and were also parasocial/starfucking) that they couldn't be bothered. And of course now there's so few shows left, and Ron is one of the only writers who truly cares about soaps for better or worse, and most of the last of the soap press just want to see the shows continuing to air so they stay behind him. The problem is that his taste is extremely suspect and his work is lazy and ego-driven. He's the only real de facto 'popular name' left. The point is: He does these things because he can get away with it, because there's no one else left to care and no one left to say he's wrong or goes too far.
  18. Unbelievable. How long have they been free?? Speaking of, I cannot believe it has taken this long to clear Trina. She was charged when TA debuted!
  19. Wilson as Pete Cortlandt on AMC had a lot of swagger but also some of the arrogance and imperious temper of James Mitchell's Palmer, his father, and that was in the writing - Pete wasn't just a hunky dreamboat Prince Charming. He also was overcompensating for his geeky adolescence, which Colby Chandler brought up often. Again, RW is no thespian but he played what they gave him well with decent writing. He is likely not capable of playing two unique characters on the same show, let alone selling a reformed serial killer to an audience, but the writing is also doing him no favors and never has.
  20. @DRW50 Seitz is a talented writer but unfortunately makes an egregious error early, saying she was on OLTL and not AW.
  21. She was unpopular with the audience and at the show, IIRC.
  22. And again (although Tabyana Ali is better than her predecessor): This is why you sign actors to contracts, don't just let them float around and coast on vibes and let stans on soap twitter act like magically nobody will leave.
