She was. She replied that it was “different” and that she obviously didn’t have the same connection with Louise (who was not mentioned by name).
I guess I missed that part. Thanks.
One of my local stations started airing reruns of Silver Spoons. I know Joel Higgins got his big TV break on SFT. Did anyone see him on SFT? I would have liked to see him on the soap after the goofy dad on the sitcom.

Admittedly at a glance, all of the recasts seemed way off to me except for Harney who was a serviceable replacement at best. Tribbey seemed like she was playing a completely different person - a fine actress, but nothing like Courtney's Alice. Very remote and/or arch. It was bizarre seeing what various shapes they seemed to keep trying to mold the character into, from Pfenning to Tribbey to the amazingly bad Borgeson.
Yes, the casting for Alice post-Courtney just seemed so random.

This is very true. There was a lot of recon for a young show.
The only things that stayed the same from start to finish were the theme music and the opening title sequence!

I thought Iris was a more complicated, explosive character, but Alex was more humane. If I have to choose one, I'd go with BM as Iris.
Thanks!

@vetsoapfan, did you like Beverlee McKinsey better as Alex or Iris?

In fairness to the website, every new producer and headwriter changed Sophia a little bit. By the end, she was barely the same character that she was in the beginning.
True, but you could say the same for every character. The show itself was only a shadow of its original self.

Meghan McCain has huge anger issues and also entitlement ones Nobody wants a co-worker like that. As much as she hates Trump she still tried to sneakily defend some of his behavior under the guise of her being a conservative. All that aside, I think that she quit because she knew that her contract would be renewed.
EXACTLY! No one will ever convince me that she wasn't not invited back. She is angry, entitled and party over country.

Don't forget that a lot of people were home all day still, this time last year.

What they need to fix is the boosters, so they are flexible enough to protect against not only Delta but the variants that come after Delta.
Let's hope they do!

That is sick...and low. Colin Powell was a million times more a man than T**** will ever be.

I'm another who thought Mary Carney was improving and might have turned out well. She also had exactly the right look.
Definitely. I wonder if Labine/Mayer/ABC regretted not giving her a chance after Tolan and Goulet didn't work out.

Part of me is surprised they actually haven't combined them into one show yet!

I don't know if I blame NBC or New World more.
I think more of the onus would be on New World. They owned the show, NBC only aired it.

And Nick's creeping me out. He definitely has a thing for young innocents. His thing for Alice is full on creepy. Kelly was bad enough, Alice is worse. Ugh. Shudder
David Haskell was only 37 when he played Nick, but he had a mature look that definitely went against him when he played opposite 19-year-old Robin Wright. Marie-Alise Recasner (Alice) is actually several years older than RW, but on the show was made to look younger. I agree that it was still creepy with Nick, at least visually.

TRUTH! She sucked the life out of The View for too long. Since her [overdue] exit, they show just flows better.
I still think a big reason why she left is so she wouldn't have to face a live studio audience.

It's also true that Kelly had much more chemistry with Dylan than Nick. Nick looked (and acted) more like a father figure than a lover.

Corbin Bernsen - (YR & GH) is reprising his role as Arnie Becker on the LA Law revival on ABC.
I didn't even know that LA Law was being revived, much less on ABC.

generally, you could see yourself in those of portrayed the roles, especially the CBS soaps.
Yourself or people you knew - that was a big part of the charm of P&G soaps.

Is it wrong I preferred Dylan to Jeffrey...? I hated what the Dobsons and their team did to the role of Dylan.
That's a post for the Unpopular Opinions thread! Dylan was definitely a different character at the end than he was at the beginning.

That’s funny, I had an idea for a skit with Susan Lucci doing that.

@DramatistDreamer, I think the word you mean is "earthy" - which the P&G soaps were, especially compared to the Bell soaps. Of course, the P&G soaps were based in NYC and the Bell soaps in LA, which played a large role.

Does anyone think this will actually happen?

Supposedly, the FDA is going to go for the "mix and match" strategy with the vaccines:

Meanwhile, 0% of viewers miss Meghan.

OK, I never knew that. I guess that was before he was on SFT?
