  1. No one did spoofs better than Carol!!!
  2. She really did work her way up. Did she ever work in soaps again after that?
  3. Thanks for sharing that link. She looks great!
  4. I would have loved to hear Virginia Dwyer's comments after her ousting. That was her last TV gig, from what I can see. I wonder if she was so disillusioned that she gave up show biz altogether. Also, Carl, do you have the page with John Considine's comments - page 32? Yes, Doug Watson was very gracious and diplomatic - but he had been on AW for less than a year at that point and Mac didn't really share much airtime with Steve from what I gather. Maybe some other AW actors with more longevity had been approached to talk about the issue but declined. If that's the case, I can understand. The studio was in upheaval, people were choosing sides and I'm sure others just didn't want to be involved one way or the other - just wanted to do the work and go home. Can you imagine how much bigger this BTS drama would have been if social media had been around then?
  5. I agree!! The 80s were a great time to be a kid.
  6. Sherry Mathis and Kelly Wood were both featured on John Gabriel's (Dr. Seneca Beaulac, RH) album, John Gabriel and Friends, which came out in 1979. I believe the album is still up for grabs on eBay.
  7. Did you notice a typo there? "VIRGINIA Wyndham"???
  8. Do you have any articles/photos of Eileen with Rod Arrants (Dr. Steven Lassiter)?
  9. I know she played a different role on the show a few years later, but do you think Judith McConnell would have made a good Alice? She was about the same age as Jacquie and had a natural warmth about her.
  10. What year did Buddy Davis die? I think I read that she and Nick were out of town when it happened.
  11. My favorite pictures are the ones of them in Central Park. I also think it would have been interesting if footage of him in Cabaret (or even audio) existed. I wonder how he would have sounded singing "Wilkommen".
  12. Virginia Vestoff stepped in as Althea when Liz Hubbard got married and had a baby, right? Did Ms. Vestoff have good chemistry with Gerald Gordon?
  13. Whatever happened to the actor who played Tom Hartman? I forget his name, but he had been married IRL to Meredith MacRae of My Three Sons and Petticoat Junction fame. They had a daughter together. I also don't know the woman who played "Mary Hartski" but she sure had the look and mannerisms of Mary Hartman down pat, even making the same faces that Louise Lasser did. Great stuff.
  14. Ahhh, OK. It just seems like he's not heard from much, so maybe that's why.
  15. Althea's maiden name was Gibson. I read that in an old soap book.
  16. Thanks for posting that, Carl. I feel pretty silly because I checked back several pages on this thread and saw that someone had already posted the Rachel/Alice scene here back in August. I thought I'd checked all the pages to make sure it wasn't there before I posted it. Looks like I missed a page. Then again, I've been sick with a bad cold the last few weeks, stuck in bed with my laptop. I choose to blame the cold!! LOL Getting back to George Reinholt, during his AW run, he looked an awful lot like future SB star Dane Witherspoon. If circumstances had been different, maybe they could have played father/son in something - whether it be on TV or stage. Now they're both gone.
  17. To be fair to Jeff Phillips (and before him, Brian Krause), I honestly don't think the AW regime's heart was really into the character of Matt unless the one playing him was Matt Crane. Once they brought him back at the end of 1998, he brought an energy and sense of camaraderie that hadn't been there since he'd left the year before. It was like he had never been gone.
  18. OK, I stand corrected. Thanks!
  19. The music on the soaps of those days was minimal yet beautiful. They knew when to add in the musical cues, and when to just let the actors talk (or not talk).
  20. Do you think fans would have been more accepting of it if they had played it out with Susan Harney?
  21. I don't think he is.
  22. Gray Bunny, the show is Franklin & Bash - on TNT. She's not on it anymore. SoapDope - I don't think we'll ever again see the opulence that was the 80s. Kind of sad, isn't it?
  23. Didn't she later act on ATWT?
