  1. These sound great. I'll have to check out that Dailymotion channel one of these days. Thank you, slick.
  2. They both look wonderful!! Thanks for sharing the photo.
  3. Interesting clip - thanks for sharing.
  4. Joe Morton, who played Dr. Abel Marsh on AW in the mid-80s, was interviewed in the second season opener of Unsung Hollywood - which profiled A Different World (he played Byron Douglas III).
  5. Sharon Gabet is a sheer delight. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
  6. Sharon DeBord, at the same time she was getting started on GH, guested on Bewitched several times as Darrin's (Dick York) secretary. Her funniest moment was when everyone was under the spell of Endora's "truth god". Darrin to Betty the secretary (DeBord): "Boy, that's a tight dress you're wearing. It looks like it was sprayed on!" LOL
  7. Has anyone seen the ADW episode yet? Jasmine Guy, Dawnn Lewis and Kadeem Hardison are all interviewed and they all look fantastic.
  8. I see!! A happy coincidence, I'd say. :-)
  9. Thanks for the link. You are so right - you'd never see a scene like that on daytime (or primetime) now. watson71, did you choose your screen name in honor of Mr. Watson? If so, what a great tribute. Not only could he do heavy, spellbinding drama - he was also adept at comedy, like when he played Tom Hanks' dad in The Money Pit.
  10. Here's another idea for an UH episode - the fully integrated yet short-lived (1989-91) soap, Generations, which didn't stand a chance due to a poor timeslot and preemptions of Persian Gulf War coverage. Several of its actors are still in soaps (James Reynolds, Kristoff St. John) and one of its cast members is even the subject of her own UH episode (Viveca Fox)!!! To this day, it's a soap not many talk about and I would like to learn more. I think it would be a perfect subject for UH.
  11. Wow, I never knew all that. Thanks. At least Patrick Tovatt wasn't without a gig for long, as he joined SFT for the rest of its run later on in 1986, and then of course had a long run on ATWT.
  12. Yes, Peter Burnell's Mike is definitely breathing new life into the proceedings. Count me in with the others who love Althea/Nick. When Retro began airing the episodes, I didn't like him at all. Once they took him out of Liz's orbit and back into Althea's, I began to like him. Now, he's my favorite of the male characters.
  13. Viveca Fox (Generations) is the subject of an episode of Unsung Hollywood, set to air Wednesday, 2/18 at 8 PM EST on TV One.
  14. Getting back to Felicia and her men, why was Zane killed off? Was it a case of actor wanting to leave or getting fired?
  15. That's not the first time Beyoncé has sung another Grammy nominee's song, is it? Or am I thinking of the Oscars?
  16. The first post was hilarious - I assume that was the Siobhan Jaws story. LOL
  17. It was a bit of genius on the show's part to pair Jody Lee with Liz - or as he calls her, "Liz Liz". Sometimes, the Southern pearls of wisdom are a bit much so he sounds like a refugee from Hazzard County. LOL
  18. Thanks for posting the clipping. The write-up about Tom Sullivan was very touching - how he didn't let blindness keep him from pursuing his dreams.
  19. Great clipping! Thanks for sharing.
  20. Any thoughts about the Meli'sa Morgan episode? I found it very touching - especially her memories of her dad. According to my DVR, here are the listings for the first couple of UH episodes, the first set to air this week: Wednesday 2/11, 8 PM EST - A Different World Wednesday 2/18, 8 PM EST - Viveca A. Fox
  21. They were dynamite. Daytime TV just hasn't been the same without great actors like them.
  22. Wow, Yvette Deas looks just like her dad. Thanks for sharing the photos!!
  23. I too was stunned at the mention of MLK and RFK. They have mentioned Vietnam several times before, mostly in reference to Ed Stark and Anna Ford, who were both seriously injured over there when working as a medic and war correspondent, respectively. Never had they mentioned the assassinations until now, but it worked in the context of going after what you want while the world at large was in complete turmoil. Althea/Nick - pure magic. I'm looking forward to the wedding scenes already!! We've seen Peter Burnell's first episode as Mike and I like him already. Plus, his being there will breathe new life into the Matt/Maggie relationship. I'm tired of the drama involving Karen and am ready for them to move on. Again, I'm so glad RTV took a chance and introduced this gem of a show to a whole new generation. It doesn't really feel like a "soap" per se - it's like many of the half-hour primetime shows of the 1960s but straight up drama with hints of comedy and a splash of romance.
