I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere on this thread (and I'm still not awake enough to look), but here is Julia Duffy in a mouthwash commercial from 1977. That's the same year she left TD.

It took awhile, but they did. There is a lovely scene from 1986, right after the explosion that killed Amy, where Brick is wandering the ruins of the building. Lionel and Sophia arrive to try to comfort their long-lost son. Here it is, courtesy of our very own Wendy:

I know, and Brick was a character they could have gotten years of mileage out of.

Yeah, that is a pretty funny line.

It's Nick to the rescue again today with an emergency surgery! The question is, will the patient's attitude be just as rotten after surgery or was it organic?

Gina Gallego did have decent chemistry with Richard Eden (Brick), after Kerry Sherman (Amy) left. It seemed that they were being tested as a possible couple, but then the idea was dropped. I wonder why, because SB completely wasted RE's talents until he finally followed KS out the door a year later.

La Lucci is spoofing her Erica Kane image again, this time in the latest Progressive ad:

Gina Gallego seems like such a sweetheart from all of her interviews, but I couldn't stand how her Santana was written. She was a whiny, spineless mess. It would have been a good move if they had tried to get Ava Lazar back in 1991 when Santana was brought back onto the canvas, rather than casting Wanda De Jesus. Jed Allan did not get along with her AT ALL, and it just seems that WDJ's Santana was too old.

Yes. My feeling is that they never make it to the aisle. GG reprised Nick from March to July/August of 1976. GC remained on the show until sometime in 1977.

Getting rid of Ava Lazar was a huge mistake on the part of the Dobsons. She was beautiful, charismatic, fiery and could actually ACT!! I don't know why she was let go. I think she could have been an asset to SB for years to come had they kept her.

Not to mention Private Benjamin...neither Goldie Hawn nor Eileen Brennan were shrinking violets. I imagine one or both of them telling him to clean up his act - LITERALLY!! Back to TD, we have rounded third and are heading home with Patrick Horgan's run as Dr. John Morrison. He was a casualty of then-brand new EP Joseph Stuart's reign.

I had forgotten all about Nikki, to be honest.

Michael Donnelly was one of those characters no one seemed to know what to do with. He was a priest, then a cop, and didn't he become a priest again before leaving the show?

The last thing I saw Armand Assante in was an SVU episode from a couple of years ago where he played the father of Det. Nick Amaro (Danny Pino). When USA reran that episode not long ago, I thought of that story!!!

Thanks for sharing that. An artist friend of mine in Cleveland has done work with Catherine Hicks' brother-in-law Jeff Yagher on monster model kits. He always ribs Jeff about being replaced after the pilot episode of 21 Jump Street. Jeff was replaced after the pilot by some kid named Johnny Depp!!!

No matter what she looks like, there is no mistaking that voice!! Has anyone ever seen that short-lived Western/adventure/comedy series from the early 90s where she played Beau Bridges' wife? It was called Harts of the West.
